She hadn't met him. She'd just move on to the next possibility.

Great area there. I used to stay in a Guesthouse in Chaiya Soi 1 many times over the years but has since changed hands. It used to be called Top Garden. This video really brings back the memories of those times. Loving your walks and talks !! Keep up the great vlogs
I was at The Consuls Garden the other day having afternoon tea, and I met an old gentleman, probably in his eighties. He had lived in Chiang Mai since 1968. However, he said something that really made me think. He said “ do you know something, I have no more understanding of the Thai’s now, than when I first stepped off the plane all those years ago”.
Well that's kind of bizarre. But some people feel that way . No doubt we think different , but in reality we re all the same . My guess is it's said about us as well .

@@UTCM Oh….I remember the Art Café on the corner just across from Tha Phae Gate. I really liked their Pad Thai and friendly service. What a shame it’s gone. But the Garden Restaurant on Loi Khro Road has great Khao Soi Chiang Mai Noodles. Really miss the Durian Ice cream at some of the markets, and the fantastic fresh corn on the cob at the Night Market. (I can never eat just one.). There was a man from Turkey…he married a Thai woman and he had a Kebab cart. Wonderful chicken kebabs he would make for folks walking on the street. Delicious with some hot sauce, lettuce, tomato. You’re living in a wonderful city. One of my favourite cities. With amazing temples also. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and Wat Chedi Luang are two of my favourites.

I have listened to a dozen stories of yours and they're quite interesting but do you ever tell 100% positive story :-) I met my Thai wife on Facebook. We had several Facebook friends in common. I noticed we liked similar posts I often saw her like a Facebook friend's post and likewise she saw I liked another Facebook friends post. Quite frankly I can't remember who messaged who first. Anyway we started talking on messenger. Also talk to each other through comments on common Facebook friends posts. We got to talking daily. During our conversations we got to know one another. She learned I had been divorced and had two daughters. I learned that she had gotten divorced and had a daughter and a son. My children were in University hers were in high school. She was a school teacher she had a degree in travel industry hospitality she also had a degree in Thai language, and she was working on a master's degree in Thai education. She owned a car, she owned a motorcycle, she and the ex-husband had their home up for sale. She was living in the government housing provided School teachers while teaching school. In other words she was a middle class Thai person with a solid productive lifestyle. Her divorce had put the drama behind her and was 5 years in the past. The same for me my divorce was 5 years in the past. We got to talking and enjoyed conversations every day. One time during a conversation she mentioned that she had had numerous conversations with other foreigners. But she commented that she always enjoyed our conversations, and seemed to never want them to end. She also said that on the other hand the other foreign men seem to want to talk about cars, sports, parties. Often she found her self wondering when the conversation would end because she did not enjoy it. After 4 months of conversation She invited me to come to Thailand to see the country and we could meet. This was May, I agreed, she wanted to do it right away 555 but I told her I had promised my oldest daughter and her 95-year-old grandmother that I would take them on a two-week tour of Italy and Greece, including a one week long cruise in August. She pushed for the meeting to happen in May or June and I said no ,we'll make plans in October when your school year is completed. So not to drag the story on and on, yes there was a near break up on the internet one time. And two weeks into the visit we had a near break up due to a language barrier and culture barrier but we got through it those are interesting stories of themselves. We laugh about it now but it was pretty intense then. I'll save those for another day. But to continue with the story we got to know each other she taught in Chanburi we traveled to Pattaya, we then traveled to Nan, and drop the kids off with Grandma. Then traveled to look at Chiang Mai, and then flew to Phuket and stayed in Phuket for one week. By this time we'd known each other face to face for one full month. I was comfortable enough to rent a house for us to live in out of those three cities we traveled through we picked Chiang Mai to settle down. She's the best woman I have ever had a relationship with in my entire life. 23 years difference in our age but she is smitten with me, and I am smitten with her. We now own our own home here in Chiang Mai and are married and have lived here for 6 years. We travel internationally, but love it when we come home to our beautiful home here in Chiang Mai. I'm in my 6th year with her my 9th year of retirement in God willing I hope I have 20 more years with her here in Chiang Mai:-)
Great story ! There are more good stories than bad one by far . My story which I have told is much like yours . only the fact that it was my idea to come to Thailand . Reading all the stories one would think all thai woman are bad but actually it could be any woman from around the world there are good ones and bad ones finding one depends on your luck. So good luck to all the man around the world in finding a good mate.
There’s an entire TV show based on the K-1 visa, called 90 Day Fiancé. I don’t know if you can get it in Thailand. The couples on the show usually come with a bit more, um, drama, though (and not in a good way). Enjoy your trip!
That sounds like a cheesy reality TV show with scripted drama that probably gets dull and predictable very soon. My understanding is that the majority of Thai ladies have no interest in leaving their country unlike Philippinas.
Met a few Western guys who think they've met a great women on online but often it's all a front. On the other hand I know a Filipino woman in Bkk, spoke to a guy from the Uk for a year online. He was coming over ,she took 2 weeks off work to meet him. However even though he was in Bkk he would make numerous excuses about not being able to meet or say I will meet you at a certain time but not turn up. Can work the other way too. In Bkk masks are compulsory on the MRT/ BTS , buses still.

Good for you 18 years married you found one of the good one's unfortunately they don't have a star on their forehead indicating good or bad if you find a good girl life is blissful but if you get a bad one it's hell on earth, he caught her out, you gave that lad good advice run as fast as he can from a Deceitful girl, in most cases it's a trade off with the old Guy's and younger Girls and it's the foreigner who risks all and usually looses all I can never understand why foreigner's play Russian Roulette with their emotions and life saving for, on the most part on impoverished women, initially Thai and Western women will treat you like a king until she has control of the man improves her position and then ditches him to Monkey Branch for better pickings money number one, ok their are the exceptions but usually they can bring or show there financial independence upfront and can complement each other, nobody likes to be just an ATM. Nature is good to us old Guy's who no longer have the same sexual drive, women no longer can have same control on these men, as they require a lot more than a pretty body for the most part companionship a partner who will compliment your life,
Well, Thomas Redmond, find a woman close to your age that way; we don't have to listen to old foreigners bitching about how they got scammed or robbed by Asian women. Leave the young ones to me; I will handle them, lol
I know you are an Ex investigator, so spying on people is normal to you. What that man did was disgustingly cowardly. His behavior is a perfect example of a beta boy who knows he can't compete with normal males. That woman is very fortunate that he ran home with his feelings hurt. She would have had a very unfulfilling life with him.
It would take a long time to explain the thai way A good thai lady needs a good man I only speak little thai and understand how to be good man Think in your own country a divorce cost how much but what caused the divorce if you don't no answers don't think to find love in thailand
Hi ! While I agree with you re people looking for love on dating sites and chatting with many from the opposite sex at the same time and it is understandable , what I found happens far too often with BOTH sexes is that they line up a bunch to meet up with ,the guys tell each one that they are the one, then hop in bed and do that to how ever many they have hooked with promises of only you love !! None of the gals ever hear from him again !! As for the gals, they do the same thing, mostly looking for a big spender sugar daddy ,get as much as they can and go on to the next ,over and over again , getting pretty wealthy in the yr after yr process !! So my advice simply is ,DO NOT BE THAT ONE and if you are not , VET,VET,VET !! Take your time and OBEY ANY red flag !! All the best and God bless !
I met a beautiful lady from the Philippines. We married, and I brought her to the USA to live with me. Three Months later, she wanted a divorce and left me.
Dude get off the heavy traffic roads...too noisy.. its a jungle online meeting and chatting asian women. Lots of broken promises...no shows..multiple chat romances..lies..etc. Dating sites and Facebook groups are ok for meeting and getting a feel for the woman to set up a real in person meet. But long term..forget it.
Not really he's glad he got rid of her if she was serious she would only be talking to him I know a guy that brought one of those girls home to America she got a job and she was cheating in America the problem with those women is they want to live in America and the money to support their parents there is no love it's only financial gain he is lucky he found out that way instead of spending more money and wasting more time with a cheater that she would do later on in life if she was a good woman and was online with a man for 6 months that's the only guy she could have been talking to I could see if it was only a couple weeks but after 6 months give me a break

@@UTCM When I sold my last rental last night I was in an old rocker recliner and I had a very very old TV with antenna 555Left them behind :-)
I met my wife the same way you did. Been together for 11 years now .
It works out well for some ! We are fortunate . I think there are more too .
Yaaaahoooooo
weather is very hot
Thank you for showing Chiang Mai. I am your new subscriber
Thank you ! Welcome we are a friendly bunch here .
Congratulations to 18 years

Thank you !
Could you spend more time talking about the places, buildings, temples, etc. that you are walking by? More info. That a future tourist could use. Some of the places you pass look really interesting but I don’t know what they are about. Enjoy your videos. Jim from Round Rock, Texas.
Thanks ! Yes
It was really busy on Huay kaew Road because Kad Suan Kaew is closing. Sad for many us who live in the area.
I ve been in there 4 times in 12 years . Mostly to the bank . But yes sad to see it shut down .
would be nice to meet nice Thai lady but not knowing the language not possible
It's still possible . There are many good lady's here
Talking is overrated!🤣🤣
@@AmericanInThailand that's funny!

@@UTCM Rare anymore. Love Thai car culture.
Interesting story. Just went past the 17yr mark with my lovely Pinay bride. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations !
Filipinas are the best women hands down
Reading all the stories one would think all thai woman are bad but actually it could be any woman from around the world there are good ones and bad ones finding one depends on your luck. So good luck to all the man around the world in finding a good mate.
For every bad one there are 5000 excellent ladies . That is also true anywhere.
There’s an entire TV show based on the K-1 visa, called 90 Day Fiancé. I don’t know if you can get it in Thailand. The couples on the show usually come with a bit more, um, drama, though (and not in a good way).
Enjoy your trip!
I ve seen it . Laughed through most of it !
That sounds like a cheesy reality TV show with scripted drama that probably gets dull and predictable very soon. My understanding is that the majority of Thai ladies have no interest in leaving their country unlike Philippinas.
@@ccrider8483 no most would love to leave
@@UTCM I suppose I should have said, they have no interest to leave their home country to come with me to mine.
Surprises are for children. Sorry for the guy but....you have to be realistic!
Fascinating stories 👍🏻
Thank you !
Yes happens all too often . I m pretty sure they are still required to ride the bts . Although not sure .
New Sub, enjoying your vids. You made reference to previously being

Very pretty area!
Yes it is @
i would never tell my thai girl when i was coming , worked good
Good for you 18 years married you found one of the good one's unfortunately they don't have a star on their forehead indicating good or bad if you find a good girl life is blissful but if you get a bad one it's hell on earth, he caught her out, you gave that lad good advice run as fast as he can from a Deceitful girl, in most cases it's a trade off with the old Guy's and younger Girls and it's the foreigner who risks all and usually looses all I can never understand why foreigner's play Russian Roulette with their emotions and life saving for, on the most part on impoverished women, initially Thai and Western women will treat you like a king until she has control of the man improves her position and then ditches him to Monkey Branch for better pickings money number one, ok their are the exceptions but usually they can bring or show there financial independence upfront and can complement each other, nobody likes to be just an ATM. Nature is good to us old Guy's who no longer have the same sexual drive, women no longer can have same control on these men, as they require a lot more than a pretty body for the most part companionship a partner who will compliment your life,
True I can attest to that been thru it a really bad experience.
well said
Well, Thomas Redmond, find a woman close to your age that way; we don't have to listen to old foreigners bitching about how they got scammed or robbed by Asian women. Leave the young ones to me; I will handle them, lol
So true
I know you are an Ex investigator, so spying on people is normal to you. What that man did was disgustingly cowardly. His behavior is a perfect example of a beta boy who knows he can't compete with normal males. That woman is very fortunate that he ran home with his feelings hurt. She would have had a very unfulfilling life with him.
Of course she was fishing for a farang , why would one presume otherwise ?
Hopefully he came back to Thailand after that
I don't know
It would take a long time to explain the thai way A good thai lady needs a good man
I only speak little thai and understand how to be good man
Think in your own country a divorce cost how much but what caused the divorce
if you don't no answers don't think to find love in thailand
That's very true , or they just screw around have no intentions of ever coming .
Slow motion narrative
Until the two persons meet and delete their other prospects it is just window shopping.
it all depends what they have been saying to each other ,dont you think ,i think he was so hurt because of what they had been saying
True , he maybe expected a lot more than what it really was . I guess never know !
I met a beautiful lady from the Philippines. We married, and I brought her to the USA to live with me. Three Months later, she wanted a divorce and left me.
That happens quite a bit , once in the states ...
Is it legal to have some sort of protection against these feral dogs or loose dogs that try to attack you being a foreigner. Or is it a crime
I good bamboo stick is all you need .
@@UTCM better not miss than😂
I dunno about that, but better get a spray bottle of some sort, pepper spray is best and always keep it on you
@@ksem_ch3186 I always carried a bamboo stick whack it on the road a couple times . They take off running .
It's a gamble for sure .
yes until you meet it's just talk
Not really he's glad he got rid of her if she was serious she would only be talking to him I know a guy that brought one of those girls home to America she got a job and she was cheating in America the problem with those women is they want to live in America and the money to support their parents there is no love it's only financial gain he is lucky he found out that way instead of spending more money and wasting more time with a cheater that she would do later on in life if she was a good woman and was online with a man for 6 months that's the only guy she could have been talking to I could see if it was only a couple weeks but after 6 months give me a break
Ever one come to Thailand for something but she knows what she was doing because this is not here frist roadeo she gave this A dad tast in his mouth about Thai women
Msn and yahoo chat
I remember them
