Very sage advice. I met my wife in a bar and we have been together for 6 years. I wasn't looking for a relationship when I met her but there was something that just clicked. Despite the cultural differences we have very much in common and have very similar personalities. Everyday I wake up thinking I am a very lucky man. I urge anyone who has had difficulty with relationships in the West, to give Thailand or the Philippines a try. It could change your life for the better. It certainly did mine.

I think the best way to find a nice Thai woman is just walk around Thailand and meet many women. You might not find the right woman, but you need to get out and try. But no pen pal or internet dating. Just met everyday women who are busy working or shopping or doing their daily chores. And not fall in love with a women that is very young,,,,,,,,,,,I met a 45 year old Thai woman back in 2019 and we recently just got married in Thailand. We have spent about 210 days together and we know now that we get along great spending many days together,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

To all farang men interested in going after a Thai woman, I ALSO Highly Recommend you read Stephen Leather's novel "Private Dancer" and take it from there! Cheers from the States! ;-)

Stephen Leather's books are quite good, he had a healthy understanding of certain aspects of Thai culture. Bottom line, don't fall in love with a bar girl.

We had 2 months of chaperoned dates and I never knew how many people were coming along. Sometimes I invited my friends too. And I enjoyed every minute. 22 years ago and we are still together...

If you're in or not in the "this is how things must be..." camp, couples might consider working with a bilingual psychologist to build a written understanding of expectations required by each party for their future life together. One potential issue to document is how to care for your significant other’s parent(s). If you have the resources consider offloading the care of a significant other’s parent(s) to a Thai worker. Thai wages can be very low. No matter what, keep your finances (account logins, atm cards and pins, credit cards and pins, account numbers, phone pins which could access financial accounts, computer logins, etc.) isolated. Consider if financial assets stored in your home country are better protected from your foreign significant other? Don’t share credit cards - ensure there is just one authorized user. If your significant other has little or no income don’t sign them up for a credit card. Provide a low balance joint checking account with visa atm card for monthly expenses which is funded on a monthly basis from an account owned by you. Do you want to pay off unbudgeted expenses billed to credit cards which YOU are responsible for even though YOU did NOT purchase the items? No matter which camp you’re in YOU DON’T want this to happen to you. Don't share computers and phones - provide significant other with their own computer and phone. Ask a lawyer why you should have a prenup/postnup. Consider the benefit of buying a home in a country where you cannot even own the land and are forced to renew your visa every year even if you are married. If you do buy a property, consider buying one 100’s of miles from the significant other’s family that only has enough space for you and the significant other. If things go South they’ll have more reasons to quickly liquidate the property and move closer to their family. If you just rent, you’ll have one less potential loss to fight over if things go South. Consider what percentage of marriages DON’T end in divorce.

Bill, for what it's worth, I met my wife 7 years ago on Thai Friendly and have been happily married ever since. Also spent time on a competing website, Thai Cupid. Agree with everything you said in this video about finding a partner from a different culture/country. You're pretty naive if you don't plan on significant cultural differences moving from North America to Asia.

    Hello Bill
I was talking with the coffee shop owner on the side street across from the old white house and he informed me that the house was owned by the minister of education and has been abandoned four years and he thinks is about 75 years old. I also was interested in its history every time I've passed by.
I think I saw a for sale sign on the side street wall the other day maybe that's why they're cleaning up the yard. I know you passed by on a few of your vids and said you were interested in finding some info about it.

Hi Bill and Lech great video very informative and good information and I agree in some ways .love is the main reason to fall in love friendship and having a good companion to be with and enjoy. Money in my book should never come between the two people. You wanna be partners for life have fun and just go places before settling down get to know each other. Yes there are those who treat girls or ladies like sex objects and that's when they get bitter and go into bars and dance for money being mistreated.some just want a fling and come and go as she pleases. Yes men can mistreat women and they don't like it and the poor innocent man who comes along get hurt but those and all cause men in the girls mistreat them.some bar girls are loverly and just enjoy your company. Some just want to play you.all in all it's hard but you will find love if you look and treat girls with the respect cause that is all there looking from there good men.so treat a girl right from the start care show them you love them for them and your relationship will go a long way.

As you see for yourself, there more European (non-American) that are more adventurous and open-minded traveling, learning new culture and adapting to them easier than Americans. That happens to all Asian Cultures, not just Thai. In the Philippines, we take care of our Olds too. This one reason we have a good family values. We don't have that thinking, at age 18, Americans children expected to be independent to leave the house and support themselves. That not how Asians cultures and traditions taught to us. It's always "FAMILY" first.

I think you hit the root of the problem in a lot of the failed marriages: Money and culture. Probably add unrealistic expectations of the relationship. Kind of funny a bitter guy with a failed relationship trying to advise you about your positive relationship. Take care and watch where you walk around there.

I'm told that it is more business oriented these days. But, anyways, you are marrying a family, and it can be hazardous if your decision is different than her and her siblings/family. lol
