How true is this phrase. Possibilities might be a positive thing to think of, but it's also too dangerous, for the reality is now living in lies.

Imagination is reality. Reality is the content within consciousness, that beings are experiencing . Everyone is imagining everything that goes on all the time , because consciousness creates reality.

I've been dealing with a car situation for a while now and also been going out a lot with my friends. The amount of stress I feel is becoming too much. I'm very introverted so I know I'm drained. It's good to come back to this vid to center myself because it's so easy to get up on the attachments we have to things and people that we forget ourselves. It's been a pretty hectic year so far just because I feel I haven't stopped "dealing". It's absolutely time for a break.

A rather difficult balance comes to the fore, when we consider a friend who means well, but engages in conversations that are a bit demeaning. A power imbalance can occur, creating tension. Therein lies the inner challenge...how to tell them, but leaving an opening for a better friendship. Thanks. subscribed.

A great Video about: The document discusses the principles of stoicism, a philosophy that encourages individuals to cultivate inner tranquility by focusing on what they can control. It outlines four steps to detachment: taking a break to gain perspective, considering whether to distance oneself from a person, and establishing limits for emotional responses. The document emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, self-awareness of emotions, and the ability to make rational choices based on reason rather than emotion. It also highlights the role of friendship in the pursuit of virtue and the importance of open and honest communication with trusted individuals.

I believe there might have been a misspelling in the earlier dialogue regarding the term. In Stoicism, the concept you're referring to is indeed "oikeiosis," spelled as such. It represents the idea of natural affinity or familiarization, particularly in terms of human beings' natural inclinations and the development of a sense of self and community. Oikeiosis involves the natural process of an individual's expansion of concern from oneself to encompass family, community, and eventually, humanity as a whole. It's about the progression from self-interest to a broader perspective that includes caring for others and cultivating a sense of social responsibility and virtue.

I don’t have ANY friends. Well, one real world friend but she certainly doesn’t bring sunshine into my life. I cringe when my phone rings n its her. So is it me because I am a magnet to Debbie Downers and repel Mary Sunshine. I would love just one friend who could even talk about life a d deeper thoughts instead of whining about their life yet here I am, whining about mine. Im stuck in a paradox to which I see no happy ending. 😢

My sister and her husband came to visit us, it was the summer before elections. They kept badgering us to watch certain shows on t.v. If we wanted the truth. They also told us who we should vote for. When my husband argued with them they packed their bags and left. They then sent me a message saying they were concerned for my safety because my husband was out of his mind. Lol! I told her I needed a break from them! She said how long, I said 1 year. She stopped talking to me and then died within the year of pancreatic cancer, her husband died 2 years later from cancer. The end.
