    Watched this video a few times over the past few weeks, and today I finished installing the Legend Suspension AiR-A on my 2001 Harley Electra Glide Classic! This is the first time I've taken-on such a project, and with the help of this thorough explanation, I was able to confidently get it done! Thank you so much for posting this awesome tutorial!

    Like others have said, I watched this several times and just finished my install. Took me about three hours to complete start to finish. I could do another in less then 2 now that I've done one. Thanks again for this video!

    Looks easy enough but my only concern would be how water proof and dirt resistant is the air compressor and components under the bike as I see some makes state not to get wet which in the UK is next to near impossible. Are the components tucked up so well and the mounting bracket designed such that the compressor and components are protected underneath I wonder.

    I had the Legend Air-A shocks on my SG for 2 seasons now and I am very disappointed in them. So much that I have now changed them to Ohlins HD-357 and now I am very pleased!

      What was the decision to make you change the legends air ride to the ohlins 357s

    • @barrys.1172
      @barrys.1172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cedriclashar8905 the terrible ride quality of the Legends was the deciding factor. Spoke with Legend multiply times and the had made suggestions but none that made me happy with them. Even to the point of sending them back to have them inspected and fixed if a problem was found and then sent back. Everything that was suggested and done never improved the ride quality. Took many bikes that had the Ohlin's 357 on them and that is what made me change! Night and day difference in my opinion.

    I think the one thing that detours me the most about this particular set up is the fact that the air pump goes on the bottom of the engine where every ounce of dirt water and nasty is??

    Thanks for a great detailed install. I was wondering, would it not be prudent once you have the pump hooked up to power, to install the fuse to test the switch and pump before moving on to ensure it was working (coming on, putting out air, etc). Same with after actually mounting the pump, testing again to ensure no interference and pump putting out air, not vibrating against something, no leaks in the brass fittings at the pump, etc. Then remove the fuse again to finish installing the shocks.
    On another point, why wouldnt you thread the air hose down at the same time you're threading the wiring harness to the pump?

    I’d personally go with the best one out there American Suspension. Had Legends and Dirty. Nothing compares to American Suspension.

    Why warn us to not inflate and deflate the shocks while on a lift and not under a load, then inflate and deflate it on the lift just like you said not to?

      Smh... he ment on the flat jack. The bike isn't supported off the suspension at all sitting up on the table.

    If the bike needs to be down before testing the shock , that means all the air needs to be removed if ever jacking the bike up to work on it, right?

    Looks like the air hose is the weak link. If the hose is damaged anywhere along it's length there goes your suspension system. I don't know if they include a patch kit or extra hose. I would hope so as that tiny diameter hose wouldn't be easy to fix.

    I have it installed on 2023 Road Glide. When I release all the air until it fully collapse, I don’t think it is much lower than the stock shock. I measured the fully extend, and it is 13”. I measured the fully collapse, and it is 12”. Is it normal. I think it should be lower than 12 “ when it is fully collapse.

    I installed mine and my suspension does not ride up and down smooth. It’s like jerky. I don’t see any pinches. Maybe the cold? What do you think?

    I bought the Air - A suspension. I noticed that the left clamp on the compressor is smaller than the frame diameter. Is this correct? Or should I contact Legend and have them send me a larger clamp?

    Just bought a 2021 street glide. I love the bike but I’m only 5”6 . Looking at doing this versus the burly shocks. I understand this Is more expensive any thoughts recommendations? Would like to do front also if that matters. I will have my wife of 26 years on back so want her comfortable. Thanks for any advice ✌🏼

    • @jpcycles
      @jpcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This set up will offer a much better ride than the Burlys. Also this is much more adjustable. If you did the Burlys you should consider lowing the front depending on how much you slam the rear down.

      That's a question in my mind too. But i Don't think We can install Center stand with this. its Compressor is in place where Center stand's Actuators goes. or may be i am wrong. just waiting for other people's reply.

      There is no difference in suspension, just a small emissions difference.
