    In this video I will walk you through an entire Dirty Air Fast Up Kit install. The smoothest ride that is fully adjustable on the fly! I take an depth look at the rear fast up kit and everything that comes in the kit including an optional 2" digital Gauge also by Dirty Works. Easy to install and can be done by just about anyone with a few simple tools. The Dirty Air suspension system is smooth and comfortable on short or long rides. It allows you to adjust the air pressure on the fly....If your sled is feeling a little too stiff...let some air out...too spongy? flip the switch and add a little air. Its that easy.

    Great install , I run legend air ride on the rear with a tank and skullys compressor with dump valves. My air up buttons are up on the perch mount so you can adjust the air heading down the highway with out taking your hands and eyes off the road trying to find the switch also with legend it came with that safety switch built in not to air up the bike and fall over, don’t ask me how it works I don’t want to find out!😉

    Yo Steven! Thanks once again for the work you put into the videos and information. I have been watching for the channel for about three years and made some decisions based on the videos for upgrades on my 14 SG, the most recent was the Willy Shiny enforcer wheel exchange. I commented on that purchase on that video. My next purchase is possibly air ride, I would like to hear your thoughts on both the systems you have installed. JNR vs. Dirty Air. Thanks You

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey LAlex...yes Im stil playing catch up on comments but I saw it..thanks man! As far as the air ride goes..I had a lot of good luck with the JNR kit at first...its now about 4 years old and has completely failed on me..it started failing after the second year. Not much help from them as far trying to figure out why it was failing me either. Sent me a new fill valve that didnt change anything and that was about it...that was last year..now I can barely get it to come on...so im in the process of switching it out for the Dirty like I installed on the RG here. No issues with it so far...but I wasnt willing to pay to replace the JNR with the same thing I have that failed so quickly.

      @@sikbaggers how do you know where to set the air pressure for different weights of people and luggage?

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@carolinarider5237 Its all in the feel. Get the bike aired up where you are flat footed and feel steady. Ride the bike...if its too tight let some out, if its too bouncy add some. There really is no specific air pressure for riders and/or luggage. Feel the bike as you ride and adjust on the fly if you need to. After a few trips out you will know when you find that sweet spot.

    Hey Steve, thanks for all your videos great job! So I installed JRN with ride height repeater 2 years ago per your recommendation. For the most part I'm very happy but I as well had a few issues with them; 6 shocks were sent to me due to cross threaded fittings! I personally love having the ride height repeater. I've had friends ask me what to install and I have a hard time recommending JNR due to my issues. Do you think it is possible to use the JNR repeater on DA system? and in reverse can I use the DA parts like safety switch or digital gauge on my JNR system?

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes sir....you should be able to use any of this stuff in combo with each other. Nothing down there has a proprietary plug on it. The only difference may be the color of wire from one kit to another..but all that stuff works the same ..you will be good. I still havent worked out my issues with my JNR system.. Ray over at JNR has gone above and beyond trying to help me and is a cool dude..I just cant figure out what it is all of sudden so slow...not all of sudden its been going on for 2 years now...but the fast up used to be pretty fast..now its just mediocre up..cant put my finger on it.

Any info to help me make a choice will be greatly appreciated. Thx again

      Hey ricky...yes pretty straight forward..I tried not to leave anything out. I have ran both for awhile now and Loved the JNR when I put it on however I have lost most of the fast up in the last year..its juts kinda slow up now on the tank...had it torn apart 3 times and cant figure out the issue. no issues with the Dirty kit at all this far. I like the way the dirty kit has the valves on the tank and not separate crammed up under the side cover. Also Like the main braided line form the compressor to the tank versus JNRs inline connection. Either way works I guess...It just feels more solid. If I had to do it again id more than likely do the dirty to be honest.

      Yes Sir I will. Ive had air ride on my 14 SG for about 3 years now and love it. If the pressure is set correctly for you or you and your passenger the ride is awesome. The only way the ride will be stiff is if you have no air (hard tail) or way too much air. there is for sure a sweet spot. My wife and I love the air ride.

      I took mine off as I have the fender extension that doesnt have a hole for the antenna ....but you can simply remove the bracket, zip tie the metal part of the antenna to the wiring harness and it wont move. It may take some time to get it lined up where the antenna sticks out straight...or get a hidden fairing antenna ...just make sure to get a powered one with a booster.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There really is no way to shoot a video thats going to be specific to your riding style, weight either 1 or 2 up...its really just how "you" want it. I can say that at first I would air the bike all the way up, let the air out until im sure footed on the ground. That was my ride height. But after you have it for awhile youll get used to where it "feels right" you can just air it up and down while going down the road...my biggest thing was adding too much air while riding and then get to a stop sign and im tip toed lol so I learned to just set it and ride and stop playing with it..as I got more comfortable with the system I started playing with it some...but start there..either 1 or 2 up just air it all the way..let some out til your flat footed and ride there.

    Steve my friend air ride suspension looks awesome. I just have one question what does it do to the geometry of the bike? I read a lot that lowering blocks throw off the geometry of the rear suspension. I’m just wondering what the air ride does to the belt tension? Thanks rsfm 😀

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      well the air ride is meant to be air up to ride height when riding. It will throw it off if you ride super low or even high. The optimal riding position of the bike is the bottom of the frame is parallel with the ground. That being said I dont ride that way. I ride slightly lower than stock height. But its nothing you cant handle in corners. It does change slightly but not like a huge difference. You get used to it after a few rides.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can always adjust the air , if you are moving or not...If youwa not to let some air our or put some in just flip the switch..You can let some out at the light and then add some more aiur while you ride. I don't recommend dumping all the air out at the light and then trying to fill it while riding..the shocks ar ewnot designed to be rode with no air in them. You can lower it a little and then add air while grinding though yes

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      the two suspensions are very different but both offer a good ride...and way better than stock, either way you go. Air ride allows for on the fly adjustability and a smooth ride and ohlins offer more of a superior ride but needs adjusted to your riding, weight, etc. which needs to be done on the shocks itself. If you dont change your weight a lot (2 up or 1 up ride, touring luggage etc) then the ohlins would better because adjusting them isnt easy. If you are riding somedays 1 up and some days 2 up or you are traveling off and on all year changing the weight of your luggage I would go air. I specifically use air because use an electric center stand on both bikes.
