Purchase one on line for 299 dollars two years ago and installed on my 2019 streetglide. Been on for 2 years no leaks no problems. Has 5 inches of travel. A much better ride.
I have used this same system from Ebay for over 5 years. The only problem I have encountered was the line leaking. Usually due to my installation errors. Did have one shock fail after about 6 months. They replaced no charge.
Neat build... I have a manual air shock in the Vic, its serves well and has lasted the life of the bike so far. I'd be a bit concerned about the longevity of this e-bay system, seals, connections and the air pump all seem to possible weak links, with the system under actual load.
read the reviews on this system. found that air line fittings are a weak point. solenoids are cheap as well. wiring diagram is a joke. Some mentioned air compressor being weak. I installed on a 83 Goldwing. I added a fuse box with 5 relays cause the factory front forks are air assist. one relay for the compressor and on off tank switch. running 4 air solenoids. two are for up front and rear. two are dump front and rear. also added a dual gauge to monitor air pressure. once you figure out the relay system its a pretty strait forward design. mine is more complicated cause of the front forks plus the addition of air gauge. never mind the fact that this was never designed for a Goldwing. I've had the system for a year. I bought better fittings and more air line along with American made solenoids. I've had zero issues from shocks , air tank, or compressor. I've had no air leaks. now I have more in mine than the initial cost of the kit. but the damper on the shocks are more suited for a bike than the MA785 series air shocks for a corvette. That is what this kit replaced. its like riding on a cloud. even on not so good roads. Thing is I bypassed all the bad review stuff, quality fittings are not that expensive and I still have plenty left over for other projects.
great video. would you be kind to put in writing what size of bolts you use for mounting the suspension on the frame . im from Denmark and have to do Google search for them :-/.
Hey yogi I’m confused with the wiring,on the pic it shows the red wire coming from the compressor wired to the relay but you say you soldered it to the red wire with the fuse..can you explain a little more please
Not bad but I also have concerns about how long it will last. Compressors are the weak link in all of those systems. Knowing that a name brand air ride can be $1500 or more thats not a bad price. Time will tell.
Hey yogi I’ve been watching bought the same set of air bags and my toggle switch is not sending signal to pump to air up but it does go up on its own so I was wondering could it be a toggle defect ?
@@YogisCycleService so I’ve got it down to the dump valve magnetic boxes I have two dump valve boxes could u send me diagram on how to connect because I connect like diagram it automatically goes up alil then I can make it go down then I connect the other way I can go but not down I need some help please
I saw some videos where they are runnning one dump valve but my package came with two and this diagram ain’t much help my toggles are red blue and black
Very informative video. Good job on the installation but the system looks like problems waiting to happen. It is probably not that difficult to install an upper limit switch to stop the pipe from hitting the shock bolt.
Is there a "stop adding pressure" solenoid or "start adding pressure" solenoid? For people that just wanted to hit the switch and it goes up to certain height and then hit the switch again and it ONLY goes down to a desired height?!?
Dude..im installing the exact same air ride and im.lost on the wiring...does everything need to go to the battery?! All ground goes to ground terminal and all red goes to the positive terminals?! The yellow one? 🤦🏿♂️
That’s a good question I have not talk to the customer in a while so I do not know the answer to that. I do know that he is a subscriber so hopefully if he sees us he will comment
Hey Yogi .. great info ! Do you have a copy of the mourning bracket measurements ? I looked on dirty air and found the bracket but no measurements? Thanks
They ride great installed them on two different bikes of mine. It's common sense, if you raise it all the way up and ride like that, it'll be a very harsh ride as the air doesn't compress any more so there's not much rebound. I tend to go all the way up and then release back 2 seconds. That seems to be the perfect comfy ride for me. Now I don't have a gauge either so knowing the actual PSI would be more direct.
Retrow TV good question and honestly I don’t know the answer to that. I suppose at full bottom of the bike we’re too upright it would need to be changes yes. You know when it was on the lift honestly that was one thing I never thought of checking
I just did this exact system and it does seem way to upright. When you put pressure on the break side floor board the bike will tip over. I did fund a 1 under kickstand I just purchased I am still waiting on so hopefully this will solve the issue
I just put one on mine from amazon 250.00 with a added air gauge I mounted on the handlebar on my 2005 road king. So far so good. Holds air smoother ride. Aint much diff than the high dollar stuff
Why does mine leak air from the other side of the dump valve its also threaded I seen some dump valves have a control that alowws you to control how fast you dump it
I'm NOT sure, but it may be the battery location. If I'm not mistaken, your battery sticks out on the right side. I don't know how that would affect it, but is my guess 🤷
Yogi...I purchased the same exact unit, and the only problem I have is an Air Leak on the Shock valve itself. How can I solve the problem? Is this something I can purchase at Home Depot or Loews?
Hey yogi can you send me a pick of the diagram for the ebay air ride you showed on u tube please I bought one and it didn't come with the diagram and im trying to install a handlebar 3 wire switch with relay on mine pleas
So I’ve got this kit and wanted to tell you when I let the air out of my bike when I park, the crossover exhaust pipe touches my drive belt and has caused melted spots, looking for a way to fix that. Also maybe limit straps would help prevent it from going too high and digging in bolt into pipes
The simple answer is no its not needed, yes you can bypass it, but why and at what cost? The short complex answer is the relay is a high current switch that is turned on and off with low current. Using a direct toggle switch to turn it on and off puts all the load through the entire system and that can cause pre mature parts failure. The switch is most likely to fail first but it can also shorten the compressor motor life. Pages of why would follow to make this the long answer.
Hello, i was wondering if you can answer my question. Can i use the air ride suspension while i am moving or not? For example, when i am on a red traffic light should i have it on a lower level and when the traffic lights turn on green turn it on while i am moving?
I am not sure I would recommend that. On a 4 wheel vehicle sure, on 2 wheels it may not be such a good idea. Not a question I have really ever dove into before
Thank you sir. I just install mine and I am very happy with it. Especially the price. Was just wondering if I could get more speed with the air release.
Way to funny, I can think of 3-4 things to do with fixing the bolt and exhaust problem you had. Unbelievable that you would give it to the customer like that. Now a days it happens way to much where you go for a service and you pay for the service and they do the service for you plus you leave with one or two issues that they have made for you.
