Can attest. I have been living the life of a daily retreat while working as a janitor at a grocery store for the past 2 years. I meditate in different ways while cleaning, helping customers, talking with coworkers, eating lunch, and outside of work while spending time with friends and family, while cooking, while eating, while walking... All the time! Always *returning* intention and focus to meditation. Be it focus on breath awareness, posture awareness or subtle postures like smiling, muscle tension and relaxation, and mantra/affirmations. I like what this guy says about using counting to meditate! 1...2...3...4...5...6...... What a wonderfully simple method of maintaining focus/concentration!
Over time it really does feel like every day is a spiritual retreat.
Truth and Love to us all 🙏🏻❤️

So it’s useful when instead of doing one meditation in the morning (30-60 minutes in my case), you can notice your in a so called trance, and just remind yourself to return to the breath, throughout the day, and in turn this new habit will slowly permeate your daily life, and instead of being caught in negative thoughts, past & future, it will be overridden by directing your attention to the breath, or mindful eating etc?

hey guys :) how many hours do i have to meditate for retreat at home ?? i have never done any retreat and have no idea about anything ..what's a daily routine or the daily process?? could you get me through the pth ?? coz many meditators say that without this discipline process (meditation retreat) is very hard to achieve the goal of non-duality or enlightement .. thank you do much :** Namaste

@@travisbickle8008 hmmmm maybe 8,10 hours but i don't recommend that. just 20 - 30 minutes every day is good. And the rest of the day do informal meditation of anything(sound, breath,or the meditation shown above)
Your first step shall be to make it a habit by doing meditation for half a year without(i am talking it seriously)thinking about how much time it takes to become meditative 24/7 or when to achieve enlightment or when to have a clear mind where you can see thoughts clearly and you never wander....bla bla bla .Abandon these things it will come naturally if you meditate. Your first step shall be building habit and it takes around a half a year.

@@travisbickle8008 I think for retreats the idea is to meditate for as much as you can manage (like, emotionally). If you can manage max 1 hour of meditation in a day, do that. If you can do 5 hours, do that. If you're emotionally able to meditate, or attempt to meditate, every waking moment, do that. Building up to it can be a good idea to make it sustainable!

It seems possible and easy to practice deep Dharma being a lay person, I don't feel any obstacles right now...but I know my tricky mind, and in few days, I'll need a new video with your words, Rinpoche...thank you.

When you say session does that mean we are meditating for 1.5 hours at a stretch, or does that include various activities like chanting, watching dharma talks, some meditation, and related activities? I generally fit in a dharma talk video and a short meditation at night before sleep. I'm a beginner at all of this.
