I am SO grateful for this new day! It is now 2,088 days since they removed a tumour in my colon and I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer……..sadly, until I listened to this video, I had forgotten just how lucky I am to be alive on this day. So today I am announcing to the world how grateful I am for all of those days I’ve had, for reaching the age of 71 which I never thought I would, and most importantly, for all of the amazing things I’ve done and the joy I’ve experienced in all of those days. Thank you for this wake-up call. I am at peace with myself as I am and the world as it is, and I will be grateful for each new day from now on. I AM grateful for THIS new day today ❤️ Edit: Sept 4 - another 30 days and I’ve just got a new puppy, so another new journey is just beginning! Won’t be able to sleep late any more, or give in to laziness - she’ll keep me on my toes 😂 Fast approaching the 6 year milestone on 8th November - that will be Day 2,191 - me and the puppy are thriving 🐶🥰 and I’m still grateful, and looking forward to all the days still to come ❤️

I know it now, and hopefully I can inspire younger people to become aware of this much earlier than I did. I’m not cured - I’ve had breast cancer, then colon cancer that spread to my lung, but my body is healed and I am no longer creating an environment in which cancer can thrive - poor diet, lack of exercise and, worst of all, negative mindset. On reflection, I’ve been practicing these 5 principles for the last 5 years, I just didn’t realise it. I hope sharing this might inspire anyone who is struggling. It’s all about self-care and being true to yourself, which is why acceptance is so important. I finally accept myself as I am, and now I can can accept everyone as they are, and the world as it is. And that is a huge relief.

I have been off work 6 weeks , 9 weeks in pain , but finding these mindful posts , have helped me understand or beginning to understand my self more , I'm grateful for this period , as its making me grateful when I haven't been in pain , and grateful for being in pain to have me recognise it . I share the working day with someone who curses the moment and looks to a future for happiness and fulfilment. I see now that their negativity has been affecting me because I have wished for them to change, I have been guilty of the very blindness of which I accuse them. I must accept them like the morning sun, they simply do not see and are not ready to hear. Even when not young in years people wish for another life, to be somewhere else, I must embrace this life which is true and that includes the movement of other. 🙏

I really love the idea of saying five affirmations every morning! It helps me feel more grateful and at peace. It feels like I have extra motivation to face the challenges of the day.
On first listen, this sounds like a practically perfect distillation of practices I've cobbled together over several decades. I'd like to reemphasize patience. Let go of the notions of perfection and quick fixes. Try to dedicate yourself to developing these habits. I can't imagine that your best efforts to develop consistency won't be rewarded.
