“Accept the laziness...” So powerful because this way it doesn’t become such a heavy burden that is impossible to overcome. I just accept it and say “yep, feeling lazy again” and then move on with my day. Like water around a stone. Thank you wise teacher!
You just jump three times😂 made me laugh hard. I just get so amazed by his peaceful way of simplifying the teaching to make us understand how simple meditation actually is. An eye opener which makes us realize how we create our own 'problems' with examples like this
So good! He brings it playfully, but each idea is worth it's weight in gold. Accepting laziness. Including laziness in your awareness. Isn't that great? These are the indications that can unblock one's practice. Interesting enough: the solution is always easy. Easy! The mind wants it to be complicated, laborious, difficult. Thank you Rinpoche!
Forming a habit also helps. This way you don't have to overcome your laziness every single time. You just do what you always do. I meditate every day at the same time. Also I started with just a few minutes, I think 5. Even one or two minutes is enough for a start. Just form the habit and then you can meditate longer. With ongoing practice you will have more time for meditation because you will drop unnecessary things from your schedule. I meditate an hour per day by now and I'm less busy nonetheless.
4:12 I totally agree with this part. Will be honest here to say I wondered a few times if you are actually a meditation guru or a comedian yet I feel you are genuine after all. You must be doing a fine job of enlightenment, my friend, keep the good work! Namaste!
This is a great video describing different techniques to trick or "play with" your motivation in order to begin a meditation habit that you will stick to. I love the style of teaching Mingyur Rinpoche uses to explain with simplicity how to develop a great habit. One drop at a time into a big bucket and over time the large bucket has a large puddle of water.
Rinpoche has a childlike simplicity which perhaps is a result of his extensive practice in meditation. He doesn't have mental vices just like a child. Thuk jeche Rinpoche
We all have to become more like a child. A child is pure and has all the natural wisdom still in itself. As we grow older we lose the contact with the source in ourselfes and seek the answers for our problems in a wrong corner.
So true :) I remember several years ago when I commuted for an hour to work and I would sit in the train and practice Shamatha all the way. Great time to practice :) Thank you
I enjoyed this teaching very much. I 'try' too hard sometimes, and I jump from one method, one object, to another whereas I know I should resolve on my method etc before I sit. Thank you for the suggestions!
Today I forgot how to breathe. It was scary so I quickly meditated and then remembered to inhale and exhale some air. It was quite enlightening and a real lifesaver.
I enjoy meditating, and I like the Buddhism philosophy and would like to look further into it...but I have a problem with compassion part of it when I see mass immigration of Muslims into my country...I would like some advise on how to handle my ill feelings towards these people, and their religion.
I try to dislike the beliefs and not apply them as defining the person. A muslim theoretically could become an atheist and vice-versa. So it is beliefs I sometimes condemn, but realise the person is fluid, capable of change. The person is the hardware and has been programmed with beliefs. The problem is the software. I can feel pity as I do when I see my own ignorance, which is ongoing. I walk down the street often hating people for some reason. I don't fight it, only laugh and shake my head at myself. Mindfulness made me aware that I was doing this. I never even realised before.
Rinpochela Chapsuchoe _/\_. I try to meditate during my daily activities, contemplate on impermanence in whatever I do or whoever I meet and my emotions. I feel like my mood is always quite down while doing so la. I am not sure whether it's because I am only a beginner or I will get used to it at some point. I would be really grateful if your holiness could tell me what I am going through la or if that feeling is normal while trying to be aware in everything. _/\_
I'm too lazy to meditate, lol that's like saying I'm to lazy to sleep. Meditation is the ultimate in relaxation, it's more than that, but it's relaxing.
Of course you can. The "problem" is that you will probably fall asleep too quick and won't have much time to meditate, but well, that's exactly what you want! :D
I really like this style of teaching because it's so humane
One of the great things that I have done was to attend a ten-day meditation retreat led by this guy.
Where is this plz???
Probably Nepal
Where did you do it? How did you get it organised? Sounds really appealing to me.
I can only imagine ✨
These video's are great. Wisdom and comedy all in one. You're a true teacher!
I sort of knew he had a bit of troll in him, but that joke really made me laugh :D seriously took me by surprise ha ha
he exploded to us the top secret how masters do their job in daily life.
“Accept the laziness...”

Thank you wise teacher!
Today was very special, Rinpoche. I am not the monkey mind! Thank you very much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
So compassionate and relevant for the people of today, myself included, thank you.

I maintain a list of 100 Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche clips along with a few other things. This one is first because of it's content. a daily reminder.
It took me 4 years to be able to sit still with the desire to do more and really let go, breathe and this man has helped me with his videos.
God! Finally some clarity for the struggling souls...! Thanks you for all the efforts on helping people with such a compassion and patience.
I love the way this guy teaches- he's brilliant !

Your playfulness is very helpful in adressing our serious concerns.

The only set of videos where I just don't speed up the video even the speaker is slow. It's calm and relaxing.
Thank you so much this wonderful video! "Not to fight with our laziness, but to play with it instead" 🙏🏼❤️
I like the way you said "make friendship with the laziness". Also your teaching is more connected to the listener.

yes! meditation is for everyone! you can be of any religion or no religion, but meditation is helpful regardless.
This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. There is no pushing of worship of a deity
I started loving each and every word that Rimpoche upload in your talk in this TH-cam.

Yeah you're right. I really like him :)

Where ever you are whatever you're doing just focus on your breath or body or sounds or anything for only some seconds.
"jump 3 times" 😂😂😂 that's so funny 🤣

Hello friend. Can I meditate while I’m lying in bed. Just before sleeping. Because that’s the time when I think & worry too much.
Of course you can. The "problem" is that you will probably fall asleep too quick and won't have much time to meditate, but well, that's exactly what you want! :D
