    I’ve carried the 112 for years, just picked up that new 110. It’s a great knife, but still to heavy/big for my pocket. I removed the clip and now belt carry this one too. I enjoyed your comparison. Thank you.

    I love the classic 110. The more I carry and use the 110 Sport, the better I like it. My favorite feature is that it can be taken apart. I did remove the thumbstud. It is press fit. The smooth side if the female side. The male side is a splined stake. Removing the blade and clamping into a vise makes it easier to tap the female side off with a punch.

    Your Description is Spot on Correct! You perfectly described Buck's Latest Gas Station Knife. Aluminum Frame, Resin and Used Underwear Scales, a $0.05 Pocket Clip instead of a REAL Leather Belt pouch. And a $150 price tag! What a deal!
    Instead of imported Ebony, Steal Brass and Leather, you get SQUAT at double the price! Who could complain!

    Solid knife, cant beat a classic buck 110. I just bought the hunter sport myself.

    Ive purchased, traded for over 50 knives this year chasing what the Majority of young buyers want. Mostly Spydercos, BMs, ZTs, Kershaws and Civivis. But im really coming round to the 112 Auto i just picked up. These solve the pocket clip issue, while still have one handed opening and slightly less weight. Unfortunately used Bucks arent common on the swap, esp these latest models. New prices hurt.

    The thumbstuds are pressure fit, one side looks like a torx bit. They come off and will go back on unless they broke while separating the 2 sides.

  • @justinroberts5400
    @justinroberts5400 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really wanted the thumbs studs to be removable and not have a hole in your blade. Also the new scales available from Buck is a great idea, come on G10!!!

    I’ve just had my new 112 Ranger sport land this morning, and both scales have that almost “stonewash” like finish. It almost looks like the scale that doesn’t match on the 112 you have there they forgot to finish in the same way maybe?
    Either way it’s a great knife!

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly but still great.

    Finally they've solved all the things that I didn't like. The perfect 110 and 112 in my opinion. The mycarder and plastic handled ones to me are not so good, because they're not lined with metal so you haven't got a knife that will last the lifetime in my opinion.

    I like them very much, I Will buy the 112 sport. I have the 110 classic and the Slim select and the 112 slim select, I like the 420 HC of Buck and I am curious how the S30V Will be. I am sure it will hola it's edge much longer but let's ser how It is to sharpen it

    the difference in finish on the 110's bolsters could be because it has been carried more than the 112

    At least your 112 came with thumbstuds. Buck shipped mine with a hole for thumbstuds but no thumbstuds. 😵‍💫

  • @jheintz5084
    @jheintz5084 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It looks like the finish wasn't as smooth on the 110 bolsters before it was anodized hence the rougher looking finish versus the 112.

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be.

    • @jheintz5084
      @jheintz5084 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Working with aluminum or any hard aluminum (T6, etc.) it is much different than steels. There is more porosity which equals more (required) finish work. In a production knife like this more than likely they don't spend much time or effort on this.

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jheintz5084 makes perfect sense. That’s one more difference between production and custom.

    I wish buck would make these in a mid lockback so they could also be closed with one hand.
    who cares about useless 1 handed opening if you have to 2 hand close?

    I have the 112 with the marbled carbon fiber scales, ambidextrous thumb studs, and pocket clip. The pivot was insanely tight out of the box as Buck knives tend to be.
