    The buck 110 is such a classic design, a testament to how great it is is that it still sells like crazy today and that they are upgrading it to modern materials and build quality makes it that much better. Definatly on my list to get one of these days. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

      I am pretty impressed by it. I'd love to get the 112 Ranger version. Thanks for checking the video out!!

    Very cool! I'd like to get this and the 112. I love my classic 110 and would really like one of these modern versions. Great video Jack 👍

      I do want the 112 now. 😆 I have a 112 Slim Select coming from SMKW but it's been in Nashville since Saturday.

    I have many buck knives and several version of the 110 hunter, including one from the 1980s that I bought new. The large thumb studs will be a problem when it comes to maintaining a proper sharpening angle. That may be overcome by adjusting the direction that you hold the blade on the sharpening device. But, it is difficult to maintain during the entire sharpening sweep. Failure to maintaina consistent blade direction may result in repro filing to a crooked edge. Good luck with your sharpening.

      These large thumbstuds are a pain no matter how you hold it.

    One of my favorite knives (well, favorite ZT anyway) is the ZT 0223, because it has that throwback look of the Buck 110 and the Case Sharktooth that I had when I was a kid.
    I guess this knife brings that concept around full circle.

      I'm liking the Buck so far. I looked up the ZT and Case and they're both are nice!

    For nostalgia sake get an original style 110 Hunter. )The metal has changed and wood on the scales have changed since 1989s.) You won't regret it! I love the original even more than my custom elk antler scaled s30v drop point.

      I have one, I have several different 110's and 112's now.

    If they could only figure out one-hand closing, it’d be near perfect. Still going to snag one to encourage progress. Where’s the balance point?

    • @factorsofjack

      The balance point is way back on the handle but it feels great in hand.

    How do you sharpen the entire blade length with that danged protruding thumb stud? It does appear to be removable.

      Its a pain!! Good thing it holds an edge for a long time. I used the Worksharp Precision Adjust Sharpener and the Worksharp Field Sharper. Had to clamp or hold it at a weird angle to miss the thumbstuds. I think the thumbstuds are pressed fit together so I didn't try to remove.

    No clip holes on the left side, c'mon Buck. Guess i'll tap them myself.

      I don't know why they didn't. It's not that hard.

    Where ďo you get that tool to tighten your knife

    • @factorsofjack
      @factorsofjack  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a Worksharp Micro Sharpener and Knife Tool. About 12 dollars on Amazon.

      I have seen it on Amazon and at Worksharp web site. .I got one but somehow lost it. It's such a handy thing that I'll probably have to get another.

    Which one feels best in your hand?

    • @factorsofjack
      @factorsofjack  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have fairly large hands and the Sport feels better in my hand. That doesn't mean that the Slim Select feels bad tho. Thanks for checking the video out!!

    Franchement..sans ces deux goujons , j'achète ! mais ça gâche tout je trouve..l'esthétique déjà.. , surtout pour l'affûtage ! ,une hérésie je trouve.. j'aurais mille fois préféré l'ouvrir à deux mains comme l'original..
    vraiment dommage..j'aime son look , son poids, son acier.. on doit bien sûr pouvoir les retirer..mais un trou apparaitra.. En fait ! Buck devrait le proposer SANS ces goujons..🤔

      I like being able to one hand open but they are rather large and absolutely do get in the way of sharpening. With all that it's still one of my favorite knives. Thanks for checking the video out!!
