when you own both it's hard to not want to grab the 110. If you're a man it just feels perfect in hand if a bit heavy, but I prefer heavy because you tend to wield knives with heavy handles a lot safer. All the new thin handled knives suck in the ergo department. as for the finger grooves I own a buck with/without and honestly.... it's just so comfortable without grooves the grooves are almost distracting in hand. I do prefer 110 > 112 the 112's blade just feels short when you own both
@@adammartin8026 glad you concur! I have a grooved 112 as well and I prefer it to the 110 groove because it fits the hand better, but the regular 110 is still king in just handfeel and use.
I think that the more aggressive protruding bolster on the 112 is an extra safety design to prevent the index finger from accidentally moving forward so you could suffer a cut, since the handle of that knife, being smaller, is not fully covered by your hand. In the 110 this does not happen, because the handle is larger, the hand covers it completely and there is not so much risk that the index finger could end up "caressing" the blade. I have several units of the 110 and indeed it seems to me an extraordinarily solid knife.
I think a sheath for folding knives defeats the purpose. Nice for storage, though. The smaller one would be better for EDC. The 110 was originally designed to be an alternative to a fixed blade hunting knife.
Not really....when you're outside every day and working really hard, it's a PIA to keep reaching in your pocket....sheaths makes a huge difference. Sheath knives morphed into tool knives etc, but originally, the larger folders were great in hip sheaths.
My edc is a 110, solid knife. Had it for 3 years and used and abused it. A great addition to my collection, keeps my other precious knives tidy and in mint condition😂 Have a nice day!

You can't really look at the logos on the leather sheaths..... They came out with a dozen different ones in the last 30 years.
