Honestly as much as I’m ALL on board for this, I don’t think I want to see the Illuminati without Tony or T’Challa 😔. I adore the Illuminati in the comics (I love the idea of this paranoid group of powerful monarchs and rich guys trying to fix problems behind the scenes and more often than not just making them worse lol…) and I would love to see them done justice. The MCU will have to prove to me that it can do that justice without Black Panther and Iron Man because right now, I don’t have much confidence that they can…! But hey, this franchise has proven me wrong before! Several times! So I will try to be cautiously optimistic if they do chose to go that route. Should at least be interesting if nothing else…
I highly doubt they can pull it off w/o those two in a tasteful way. They should at least have a Stark and T'Challa variant (if not RDJ, Tom Cruise maybe and someone else, respectively?). We'll see though

His father ended up dying trying to protect him, & his mother sold her soul to Mephisto for power to fight their oppressors. Bc of this Dooms main goals are to get his mothers soul back from Mephisto & guide Latveria (and really the entire Earth) into a time of peace & safety. Because Dooms end goal is peace & in his mind the ends justify the means he is often antagonistic towards both heroes & villians. Also because he is extremely powerful & can amp himself even further hes able to be antagonistic towards anyone from 1 character like Dr Strange, to whole teams like F4 or Avengers, & even at times the entire universe. I never liked Fantastic Four too much, but I loved Dr Doom. The Fantastic Four always struck me as some of the most hokey Marvel Comics, but not like it was trying to be that way like Dr Strange was trying to be all super mystical. After one of the most recent movies I came home and thought about what I'd seen. I came to the conclusion that the subject material is just flawed and that in order to make a really successful and awesome FF movie they would have to massively deviate from the comics. Imagine what you just laid out for Dr Doom, but Dooms' mistakes essentially create the Four. Not just how Loki created the Avengers either. I mean they get his powers from/because of Doom and form together to thwart him. We could get Doom long before FF and the story would be much better because of it. On a side note: I would absolutely love to have some cake and eat it too.
Doom is Marvel's best villain, a triple threat who runs a whole country, and as much as he's tied to them its not bc of the Fantastic Four. Which is why I hope that he's not introduced to the MCU just as some Fan4 villain. He needs to be almost on the level of Thanos or Kang but as a wild card who is present in the background.
This reminds me of Batman having such contingency plans for each member of the Justice League. He loves them as friends and partners, but he's no idyllic fool. He knows it just takes one thing for any of them to snap and that they'd need to be stopped immediately when it happens to ensure it doesn't get worse. So if this is right, and I hope it is, here's our Illuminati: Nakia for Wakanda Namor for Atlantis Professor X for mutants Reed Richards for the Fantastic Four White Vision for the Avengers and for his contradictoryness Captain Marvel for space Phastos for his long lifespan Hank Pym for the Quantum Realm Doctor Strange for magic And Zemo for his pragmatism I could also easily see Nick Fury or Black Bolt returning. I also think instead of Strange we could easily see Wong or Mordo be part of the team.
What if the Illuminati was started or the idea of it was started by Tony and Rogers prior to the final fight in Endgame. Tony had time to record a message in case he died in the fight, the decision to have Cap be the one to return the stones had to have happened at some point. Maybe we'll find out Tony and Cap had a discussion about creating contingency plans incase they lost and/or to fight of future threats. After Endgame, Cap went back and initiated the plan at some point. Something that wouldn't come to light until AFTER they beat Thanos.
Marvel needs to build Doom slowly. Give him a decent build-up, make him relatable, and make him a hero from day one. Doom's motivations will change over time, gather strength ala Zemo, and ultimately be not only the Big Bad, but the saviour in the end.
I enjoyed the avengers Illuminati run I read in in 2012. The whole parallel worlds colliding kinda got confusing, but I enjoyed the feel of the series.

I feel with the Eternals, the x-men should arrive around the same time protecting other areas of the world or at least being set up. Now I have hope that Fantastic 4 will show up. If it would get the MCU to the real Planet Hulk or Maestro storylines without all the nerfing, I would be fine with it. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen, and if Banner/Hulk aren’t an important part of the story, I have no interest in it.
Kang is historically never associated with any multiversal threats in the comics. Historically, it's the Ivory Kings (Beyonders) or Doom with the power of the Ivory Kings. Time travel and the multiverse are more separate than the MCU

I never liked Fantastic Four too much, but I loved Dr Doom. The Fantastic Four always struck me as some of the most hokey Marvel Comics, but not like it was trying to be that way like Dr Strange was trying to be all super mystical. After one of the most recent movies I came home and thought about what I'd seen. I came to the conclusion that the subject material is just flawed and that in order to make a really successful and awesome FF movie they would have to massively deviate from the comics.
Imagine what you just laid out for Dr Doom, but Dooms' mistakes essentially create the Four. Not just how Loki created the Avengers either. I mean they get his powers from/because of Doom and form together to thwart him. We could get Doom long before FF and the story would be much better because of it.
On a side note: I would absolutely love to have some cake and eat it too.
The fact that the two FF movies keep making them heroes instead of explorers is what gets me each time.
Doom is Marvel's best villain, a triple threat who runs a whole country, and as much as he's tied to them its not bc of the Fantastic Four. Which is why I hope that he's not introduced to the MCU just as some Fan4 villain. He needs to be almost on the level of Thanos or Kang but as a wild card who is present in the background.
This reminds me of Batman having such contingency plans for each member of the Justice League. He loves them as friends and partners, but he's no idyllic fool. He knows it just takes one thing for any of them to snap and that they'd need to be stopped immediately when it happens to ensure it doesn't get worse.

What if the Illuminati was started or the idea of it was started by Tony and Rogers prior to the final fight in Endgame. Tony had time to record a message in case he died in the fight, the decision to have Cap be the one to return the stones had to have happened at some point. Maybe we'll find out Tony and Cap had a discussion about creating contingency plans incase they lost and/or to fight of future threats. After Endgame, Cap went back and initiated the plan at some point. Something that wouldn't come to light until AFTER they beat Thanos.

Marvel needs to build Doom slowly. Give him a decent build-up, make him relatable, and make him a hero from day one. Doom's motivations will change over time, gather strength ala Zemo, and ultimately be not only the Big Bad, but the saviour in the end.
I mean, they’ve done 27 movies since 2007 -in addition to a few shows- to get to where we are now… I think I trust the process

I enjoyed the avengers Illuminati run I read in in 2012. The whole parallel worlds colliding kinda got confusing, but I enjoyed the feel of the series.

If it would get the MCU to the real Planet Hulk or Maestro storylines without all the nerfing, I would be fine with it. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen, and if Banner/Hulk aren’t an important part of the story, I have no interest in it.
Kang is historically never associated with any multiversal threats in the comics. Historically, it's the Ivory Kings (Beyonders) or Doom with the power of the Ivory Kings. Time travel and the multiverse are more separate than the MCU
