Will mate, the hessian looks good but please think about a pan fire on your hob, that fabric is flammable.

@@Jarv263 I was about to ask will the distance from the cooking ring to the bottom of the cupboard.
Stir fry spray is a worry also a fire hazard on hessian.

    • @Jarv263
      @Jarv263 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@chox2001 well in a house in the UK the extractor (which obviously isn’t fabric) has height restrictions, an electric hob needs 650mm clearance above and a gas hob needs 750mm gap. LPG actually burns hotter than natural gas which we use in our homes, so you need to be careful. I can’t see oil spray setting the hessian on fire, but if Will ever had a pan fire, that hessian would definitely accelerate the fire.

Hessian is flammable mate so make sure it’s not going to fall off the cupboard with your hob underneath. Or a pan fire could easily get out of control with that fabric above.

    • @CainBuckler

He at the very least could paint a thin layer of resin over the hessian directly above the stove

    • @Jarv263

@@CainBuckler epoxy resin is flammable unless it’s cured with fire resistant chemicals. I’d just paint the bottom of the cupboard the same colour as the hessian and be done with it.

Just a heads up Will. An iPad Pro is a power hungry beast and we found we just couldn’t keep it charged when using it for SatNav. We were using the most powerful 12v charger we could find but it was no good. I asked in The Apple store about this and they advised getting the basic iPad which we find works well as a satnav and for watching videos. Smaller screen though but much cheaper. Make sure the iPad also has a gps chip. Those without sim slots don;t work as well.

Hi Will. I have watched a bunch of your videos and really enjoy your content, though this is my first comment. I think the Hessian looks really good, however, I don't think it's a good idea above your cooking hob. I think over time this will gunk up with oil/fat from cooking, which will make even more of a fire hazard as others have commented on. I think some type of laminate finish that is easy to wipe down would have been a better option for that particular spot. Keep up the awesome content and enjoy life. Best wishes.

I'd have painted the ends of the cupboards a nice matt plum colour as it works really well as an accent to that shade of green.

I’d cut out 2 panels in the cupboard and have the hessian in there and just paint rest of the cupboards green and grey.

You should cut a mirror down to the shape of the end of the cabinet. A mirror there would give the illusion of more space and also function as a mirror

You should really livestream your build. That way, when we're all shouting "No! It'll be too much green!" you'll hear us and can just pop over to Dunelm for a bit of old sack! 😀 Looking good now, though.

Mate get the galaxy tab s8 ultra, 14.6 inch screen. It costs a grand but i think it would be well worth it for in the van!

Told ya about the iPad and using that with mounts instead (though I understand about the expense). 😝
It can also act as a computer that’s not easy to carry around and do work on (should you need).

I really like the hessian. Can you varnish/lacquer over it to stop it holding grease and smells?

Just nipped off to let the dog out and came back in to "it's pretty long and girthy"! Not sure whether I dare rewind it! 😲😂
