I like the darker tones. much more relaxing. everyone says you have to go with lighter colors in a small space or it will feel cramped, but it's nice.
I think it's the contrast. Dark works but section it up with different hued tones.
I can't understand people who want white interiors. Lighter colors are fine, but white is a no-no. That shit in a van would give me padded room vibes and I don't want that
I think it comes from the 80s, with dark wood ceilings and walls and other dark brown colors with very spare lighting. Dark spaces with modern indirect lighting have a great contrast, and feel calm because they highlight centerpieces and visually declutter the rest.
Only thing I would have done different is the wood ceiling.
Irish pub vibe (as in, dark, indirect lighting, cosy, relaxing).
White works too in moderation when combined with other materials (dark wood, brick, tile). Remember there are many “whites”, doesnt need to be dazzling.
What amazes me he is 6'1" and sleeping SIDEWAYS in the van!!!

I admit I watch a ton of Van/Bus builds videos and already had made up my mine to go with the light bright look in my Skoolie because I felt darker builds would seem too closed in. After watching this sweet build and it’s having the East Coast loft vibe I’m changing my design and whole thought process. This is definitely 🔥🔥

This build is amazing. One of the best-looking I've seen.
That is so cool, i got a taste for off-grid working from home using an Ecoflow River Pro which i recently did a review for, and its changed the way I see work now, there's no need to be stuck in an office for the rest of my life. Now the inspiration is to get an RV/Motorhome and work on the road and live off-grid.
This guy right here is me 20 years ago willing me to just enjoy myself in my way and travel… and positive things happen every time. I’m a lil bit older, but Jerrod and now this dude are inspiring me (and wifey too!) to try this out…
Guess he figured if you could built your van on the East Coast and head to the West Coast he could too. :-) What an amazing guy and van build, especially for his first build with no other building experience. It feels like a sanctuary in there with no windows, but I would need windows to see what is happening around me at night when boondocking.

Two years living free and that is one really free spirit . 🙃😂 I love this van build. I live my dream life in a camper in Southern Africa so chose the light bright colors because temps soar to 38C degrees in summer with mild winters. I laughed the whole way through this video and just had to subscribe to you both.

I LOVE the dark tones in the cabinets with the woodblock countertops. The backsplash in the kitchen and the brick I also love..the only thing I would do differently (if it was my van, ) is a full shower. Truly an inspiring build!

That van look ruff, but it had the most in home lived in feeling inside. The two different brick wall thing was either complete genus or dam best lucky out come . He had some really nice touches.and the studio light thing. If they could be turned in to 12v you might be onto something. Hope your boy mark watched this. Wonder what he thinks .

This is an awesome van build and he has a great personality. I love that he takes showers everyday. The the dark colors and the way the inside of this Van makes it feels cozy and homey. It is such a great vibe. Definitely like the brick walls in the back. Thanks for another great video Jarrod.
YES to 2 inverters! I hear people say they have one big one and I feel bad. It probably works fine but your batteries will give so much more if you don’t ask for so much more than you routinely use. Turn the big one on when you need more power but routinely you aren’t running everything. One for chargers, lights and (for him) TV & PlayStation. Turn the other one on when he needs hot water or whatever. Smart and small ones are pretty cheap (relative, I know)
I don't think this is correct. I don't know the model of inverters used here, but generally, just because something is rated for 3kW does not mean it always consumes 3kW. It depends on the load.
@@gabriellundmark - things might have changed but as far as I know, an inverter will grab the power it is capable of diverting in anticipation of need. It can’t use more so when it grabs it, it hangs onto it. There is some degradation but it will sit with what it has until you use it, continuing to ‘withdraw’ as it loses any voltage. If you have lots of power, maybe you don’t notice. But it will continue to keep the max amount while it is on. Unless there have been some changes in the technology, which is certainly possible and would be a good change.
@@gabriellundmark - maybe someone who knows for sure and will say. Maybe you know, absolutely, and you are being polite. One of the reasons I am trying to use most dc plus a box (like a Yeti or Bluetti or Jackery) is to maximize any energy I can harness. The other reason is that you lose about half of the energy you generate simply because of less efficient technology. I am older and maybe things have changed and improved and I was not paying attention when they announced the changes. Wouldn’t that be great! Let me do some research, and maybe you can too, and see if we can get verification one way or the other. Thank you for being so polite!!!

Van life is superbly cool. I used to work for a company and all I had to do was pickup scooters in the DMV. After that I used to take naps in the van and dream about turning the van into something of my own. I only thought school buses and double deckers were a thing. VAN LIFE IS A MUST FOR ME

I'm a year or two from retirement so I've been checking out this lifestyle, especially since I can't afford to have a regular home once I retire. Love the van. I don’t want windows either. You don’t have to cover windows every night and looks less like someone living there. Love the construction vest in passenger side, brilliant. Plus, I love the brick and dark cabinets. I am 60 old lady and hate white cabinets, cold feeling. Great job, and you look really happy and that is what life is all about! 😊

The guy with the bed that lifts up where his garage is underneath is my favorite one by far….everything about his fedex truck is amazing and is the one I’d copy if I built one.
