You deserve more subs man. You’ve helped me so much with my new to me Silverado. Seem like a genuine nice guys and all your videos are well informed and concise. No beating around the bush for views. Keep it up!!
When you are in deep snow or mud or sand, turn the button off, when there are limited traction conditions. The system works to actually " brake" one tire while trying to engage the other. This works against itself in certain conditions.Found out the hard way.
For readers - If you hit that button once and burn out in a turn - your cool and have lots of ‘skills’. You turn off stabilitrack you re-attempt that burn out in a turn you will find out what little skill you had. I know people at car clubs that found out about full turn off of stabilitrack and well their cars were in a ditch or severely embarrassed themselves pointing the wrong way after gunning at intersection.
I have the same truck 2 wheel drive with a 6.0 and 4.10 gears with posi. It will not spin the tires when trying to brake torque it or launch. If I turn off the traction control it will fry the tires. If you hold the traction control button until the Stabili Trac off light comes on you won't notice anything. Stabili Track is a control for the for the braking. It is like you turned off your ABS. Electronic stability control (ESC), also referred to as electronic stability program (ESP) or dynamic stability control (DSC), is a computerized technology[1][2] that improves a vehicle's stability by detecting and reducing loss of traction (skidding).[3] When ESC detects loss of steering control, it automatically applies the brakes to help "steer" the vehicle where the driver intends to go. Braking is automatically applied to wheels individually, such as the outer front wheel to counter oversteer, or the inner rear wheel to counter understeer. Some ESC systems also reduce engine power until control is regained. ESC does not improve a vehicle's cornering performance; instead, it helps to minimize the loss of control.
the tires I get are cheap. 40 bucks a tire and I can do rolling burnouts for days and hardly see any tire wear. They’re off brand but I only run them on the rear and they last pretty long. I got factory 20’s now but planning to go with replica 24’s with 33’s. Ima throw the 20’s on my old 07 classic. Gonna have as much fun with the street tires as possible until then though.
If you need to get out of a ditch pull the fuse under the hood to completely disable traction control/ stabilatrack this will allow full rpms to the drive train where as in the 07-13 GMs turning them off as described in the video only dumbs it down about 75% but will not allow full power to the slipping wheel if truly necessary 🥃cheers🍻
Hey man, I came across your channel recently, you have videos on a bunch of stuff I was unaware of, haha.. I never really looked into the features in my truck cause I’m so busy... I’ve got a 2016 gmc 2500 Denali diesel... Keep up the good work with you Channel!!!
My Silverado a beast in the winter ❄️ it’s 4x4 system is great 👍 just leave traction control on but that is the fun button that trick works on allot of gm cars also getting unstuck in the winter with traction control on is dam near impossible !!! Turn it off and you got full power to rock yourself out of snow
My stabilitrak light stays on whether I like it or not. It stays on at any speed. I have a fuel injector circuit issue but I’m not sure if that has to do with anything.
brettwrb 🤣 good one but Ford guys obviously don’t want to read or they would plainly see that Ford circles the problem on their vehicles. Buddy I mean no harm I just like to play around with the Ford guys. I actually like the coyote engine but I absolutely despise the ecoboost. I am a lifelong GM guy after the first and only 2 Fords I owned kept as busy as my job I worked at 40+ hours a week😁
Well the The owner's manual says not to shut off your stabilitrak and track control and sit there and spin tire It literally says it in the owner's manual not to spin tire aggressively could cause damage I mean obviously that's with any car even a 79s truck
Have a question of topic did you replace the shocks with Bilstein 4600s? Anyone have any thoughts on them. I'm replacing mine through warranty truck is rough on certain road conditions
They can do it just gotta drive it like its stolen. I got a 2010 ext cab short bed 5.3 6spd auto it will light them up just not easily. Probably doesn't help I got the heavy 20inch TX edition wheels and 275 width tires. The 5.3s do not have much low end power more mid to upper range.
The real issue is buying a 5.3l to begin with. Get a real motor and you'll have no problem spinning the tires. I can spin all 4 35" tires with a 6 cylinder in my truck.
@@charlieodom9107 haha. A real motor huh? I dont think its the motor rather the gearing. I have a Cadillac version. Not meant to turn rubber. I could however build the engine. A 5.3 with a larger cam and a whipple will toss some unbelievable #s.
Wow!!! This has been around for a decade or more and someone makes a video of it in 2018? How bout you tell us what those 2 hangy things do down by your feet! I still haven't figured out those.
I've had a 2003 Silverado for four years now. Best truck ever.
They are great trucks! I had an 06 for several years, never let me down.
Put 100k on an 01 and just got a 05 3 months ago. Can't flipping beat these trucks

Have you had the radio act like it was possessed? Change stations on its own screen changes too.

Underpowered main stream trucks boring

Keep up the great work brother!
Long press the radio power button for an interesting screen change.
Lol just pull the abs fuse and it turns it all off. Your dash will ding though. And it doesn't turn back on over 30 or a certain wheel speed lol
I didn’t know that!

Normaly Abs or wheel sensor of some sort
No, I did not know that. Yep that works on my 17 Sierra, thanks!
mine stays off no matter what speed i go. Only when i go to restart do i have to hit the button again. 2014 2500hd

I made a double take when I saw your name. 🙂🙃
That’s crazy man!! Haha
When you go to 4 wheel low it shuts all that shit off too.
Didn’t know that, good info, thanks buddy!
Yes it does. I saw this on mine other day. Thanks
Awesome video bro
My 05’ vette has the same option, but didn’t turn back in after 30 mph
Nice! I would love to have a C6 Vette. I can’t lie, I’ve thought hard on getting one for the channel!

Gee thanks ... yet another video showing us something that is very clearly stated in the owners manual ... what's next a video on how to put gas in it
with todays tech advances you will need something other than human to read this comment
GM guys can barely read, that's why he's here...

Honestly did not know about the stabilitrack shutoff
Blockhead Pro Tip! It’s in the Camaro too... hold it down to disable all the stuff keeping you from ruining your tires in a few minutes.
i believe all this info is in the owners manual
that would involve reading. most people have lost that ability.
the fun button on my 2nd gen dodge is called the throttle
Anjou you bought junk
I wish you wouldn't have told me about that button. Now my Goodyear Wranglers look like Baloney Skins
The breakdown button sure is useful one. Lol
My 08 5.3 couldn't spin the tires if I had slicks. I think Ive got a dud
Don't feel bad. My 09 is the same way. Only reason I can do it now is because I have a harder compound tire so there's not so much traction
