It is important to note that Ramattra is the best tank apart from Orisa for dealing damage at long range. You shouldn’t play him as aggressively as you would with other tanks since his kit is less forgiving, but instead you should play him sort of like Orisa from overwatch 1 where you slowly gain ground and play around corners. Hope this helps.

He is THE best tank at dealing ranged damage. Keep in mind, Augmented Fusion Driver is not just a projectile, but a projectile with damage falloff (for some god forsaken reason).

@@fuscello Then just make it hitscan with damage falloff. Either make it a projectile or make it have damage falloff. Both is not only unnecessary, but inconsistent

Rammatra wants peace for Omnics at all cost, and saw that a pacifist approach either wouldn't work or would take too long, so he decided to start a rebellion. Basically fighting for him, Zenyatta and all omnics have better lifes
Zenyatta is the omnic Jesus and is going the pacifist way. He doesn't agree with Rammatra's methods, but (afaik) isn't using violence to stop him
Kai wanted power to prove something to Oogai, he wasn't fighting against discrimination or something
PRO TIP: Even if you haven't unlocked Ramattra in the Battlepass you can play him for free in the "No Limits" game mode!
And then you can realize that he should be nerfed (i mean a 75% DAMAGE REDUCTING BLOCK thats (infinite by the way), with a slow, a technically infinite ultimate, and a infinite range high damage primary, damn rammatra give us some rewards other than a participation one)

If Rammatra doesn’t have two supports with him and doesn’t time his damage reduction ability correctly, he dies really quickly

They could add 10 more tanks with CC and nothing would change, because there's only 1 tank per team.
Ramattra doesn't have hard cc it is just a slow and pull down which is worse than soujurns. And doomfist only stuns for 0,75 seconds after having to silence himself for 1 second so he can charge the punch and he only stuns if you hit the wall. But they can nerf soujurn into z tier for all i care

I mean they also didn't explain some other mechanical upgrades of some characters I feel like, he just got an upgrade to be a better fighter probably. I mean sure maybe there's a whole story they can tell with it but it's not that significant or hard to make a head Canon of.
My guess is that it was old gear from the war he gave up when he became a monk, but after the failed null sector uprising he saw need for it again and can now call for it on will like the nanomachines(son) in his staff and aoe.

For me he just needs more sustain. Something like maybe 50 armor in omnic form, and life steal on his ult. Other than that, most fun on the tank role I have ever had

I still gotta get him (just came back to overwatch after not playing since moira was new lmao) but i will say ive never had more fun as a tank then i have bullying quickplay rams who get punch happy and hard focus me as Orisa. For some reason they dont go after my squishies so i just run out the punch clock and clean up
I think he is the best example of what a tank should be, a character that can hold positions, block and overall be a beefie character that’s hard to kill but does not do to much damage but at the same time can do enough damage to hold a spot

Macro is an inspiration showing that everyone can cosplay
another pro tip (but from me) : as Ramattra you can chain the nemesis form (shift ultimate and another shift) but better to make 1 second pause between this chain because if you do this you will be constantly recharging the 150 armor gain from nemesis form.
This is the first time a new hero in overwatch isn't busted or meta (Junkerqueen was meta in the beta and pro league for a bit that's why she got nerfed on release).

The thing i LOVE about Ramattra is 1. His voice actor (Voiced Godrick the Grafted from Elden Ring) 2. NEMESIS FORM. 3. He is an absolute powerhouse in the right hands. 4. He is my #1 Tank played. 5. He is just a badass Omnic fighting for his people.
I like how people are saying rammatra took a while to come out after being teased but sojourn was teased in one of the very first overwatch cinematic and only now came out in ow2
One more pro tip to share that I’ve been using with friends:
Rammatra and Symmetra work well together to make a pincer comp. Symmetra’s turrets + Rammatra’s Vortex help slow down the enemies so much they almost can’t even move. Symm’s TP helps him out for mobility and to make the pincer formation is to TP Rammatra into the back lines, let him Pop his Ult from the back lines to push the enemy towards the other 4 members in front, who will then cave in on them from the other direction. Nasty stuff.

Another tip for rammatra when you are in nemesis form and you are about to pop ult cancel nemesis form and then go into your ultimate you get all of your extra health and armor from this it keeps you alive ALOT

When you activate his mech form, he gets extra sheild, when you have your ult however, you can get off the mech form and activate the ultimate to get back that shield, which essentially would let you stay in the fight a little longer

I think that he feels a little squishy in his normal form so maybe giving him armor would help but otherwise I think he’s in a good spot
I love using his block in nemisis for, jumping in front of bastions minigun or soldier's visor, the fact he can eat all of that damage, (to eat bastions minigun and survive you'll need a healer pouring heals into you) it's crazy. I loved putting his shield in front of that one cassidy on high ground trying to get a 5k but the shield blocks his shots
Pro tip: you can go straight back into nemesis form right after your ultimate has ended
hard at beginner level, but he carried me to plat on tank and now as long as you manage the nemesis and shield cooldowns you can build up your win button and teamwipe pretty fast

You could also use rams vortex to push with and use it as a counter for widow.
A few list of changes I would recommend to him: a kind of glow to his staff I think that it would help seeing where your projectiles are going
A slight duration buff to his bomb and maybe his Nemesis form. First his bomb is kind of useless I also forgot a higher pull down range for it anyway adding and extra 1 to 2 seconds to his bomb would make it much more viable and stronger damage would remain the same or maybe decrease it to 10 although I don’t think a damage nerf would be needed and for his nemesis form (not in the ult I think his ult is fine) I think adding like an extra 2 seconds would allow him to last much longer and be tons more effective. But that’s just my 2 cents

On my side, I believe ramattra needs buffs to his vortex, it barely feels like it does anything and it doesn’t suck enemies down.

I love how similar robotic monks are both of them are good for offense and defense. they both have one weapon balls and they were both trying to stop robot racism
Rammatra is so fun to play, one time I had a Ana nano boost me and kiriko ult while I was ulting and I was unstoppable, a force of nature.

I don't think Ramattra needs nerfs but the shop prices definitely do
ramattra's nemesis form does give him a small movement speed buff so don't be afraid to pop it from spawn to get back to your team faster. by the time it goes away it'll likely come back when you need it to fight. if you're managing your cooldowns well, between your barrier and your nemesis form, there's around a four second time where you have access to neither your shield or your nemesis form, which is a great time to run for resets or to fall back off of an aggressive push. remember, ramattra is a bit squishier than other tanks in his omnic form, especially without his barrier and alone. peeking into an entire team is generally just unwise, it's better to play around corners and natural cover and pick off enemies behind their tank while protecting your team. pop nemesis when they get close to you, and if you have his ult, don't be afraid to use it to push aggressively. not every ultimate needs to be a play of the game, and most of the time, the other team will run away in order to get your ultimate to disappear.
overall ramattra is really fun. he should've gotten that statue on ilios.

Earlier than expected so YESSIR!!!
He’s overpowered ! I played him barely at all and was wrecking . He’s not particularly fast so it’s difficult to finish off some kills but his ult just melts through healers and dps if they are anywhere near you . When he blocks in ult form while backed by healers he’s virtually indestructible. He also has no drop/recoil to his standard weapon while still having insane range .The only real learning curve is the shield which I’d say you opportunely pop out kinda like a genji block without ricochet .

His barrier need a buff and his ult I think should deal a little less damage but in exchange he heals like 2-3 hp per second per target

I think that the Ramattra is for certain people's tastes like me I am able understand all of his potential, but on the other hand he can be shutdown quickly if the enemy team groups up during his Brawler form to take him out but if you understand the block and how to be around the team then he can wipe the enemy team or assist wiping them

Do these characters that get unlocked only through the battlepass eventually come into a place where you can unlock them normally or something?(I don't play OW but it looks interesting. At the same time, the characters behind a paywall is upsetting)
