i am a bread baker and discovered if you use bread improver..the best thing to use for substitution is 1 teaspoon of vinegar in the liquid to 5 cups of flour.. the bread comes out so smooth inside is slightly chewy and tender and High rising bread.. Love your tutorials Caleb ..thank you for what you do..
Thank you for this suggestion! We're under a winter storm warning today and I can't think of anything better to do than fill my house with the smell of fresh bread. 🥪
@outdoor lady- first, hoping this finds you well and the storm passing you by. Second, this would be a great way to both warm the house and fill it with the wonderful aroma of fresh bread and would also be great served along with one of Kaleb's soups or stews- he has some really good ones. God Bless you and Keep you Safe in HIS Loving Embrace. Have an AWESOME week ahead.
I make bread 2 to 3 times a week, because we LOVE it! ❤️ My recipe is very similar to yours! I use honey instead of sugar, and sometimes coconut oil instead of butter...just to switch it up a little! But the rest is exactly like yours! There are so many folks out there that are afraid of bread making, but you just made it so simple and easy for them! THANK YOU!
I love homemade bread. This looks amazing, I'm trying it today. Making bread does take practice. The first few times I made bread, you bust out a window with it. I had to learn bread making on my own. Kaleb, you have saved many from having rock-hard bread. You are a fantastic teacher. Thank you for these wonderful videos.
I made this bread tonight and it was fantastic! The only change I made was black sesame seeds because that's what I had. I think it made for a beautiful touch. This humid TN evening had me use nearly 9 cups of flour. I will definitely be making these again. TY!
just made this and it came out perfect! you explain things perfectly and even tell us the why. thank you so much! my whole family loved it. its going to be in my week rotation now lol
I love making bread and I love this recipe. Thank you ❤️. I will be making this tomorrow with Sunday dinner. Oh my kitchen is going to smell so good!!! ☺️😋
You are such a good teacher and I’m so so glad you are showing many people (and our younger people too!!) how to make delicious homemade bread!! I have always made it the old fashioned way…kneading completely by hand…only this last time did I use my kitchen aid to knead my dough! Oh why did I wait?? It’s wonderful!!! I learned from my Grandma; the best yeast bread baker and yeast donut maker ever!! Please keep making your kind, thoughtful and informative videos!! You are teaching wonderful skills for all of us to learn and know! 🥰
I just made your recipe and the bread turned out delicious and beautiful from the outside. Instead of the egg wash I used butter. My daughter made us the same sandwich from this restaurant here in California called il Tramazino, chicken breast, aioli with basil garlic, sun dried tomato, provolone cheese, avocado, delicious 🤌 thanx for the recipe
I just made this bread and it came out PERFECTION!!!!! SO delicious! Thank you so much for this recipe and all of your terrific recipes and videos!!!!!!!!!
I so enjoy the way you do your videos. It’s like you are really talking to us, rather than just standing do an instructional video. This bread looks delicious and I will definitely be trying it. Thanks for sharing😄
Love your teaching style and personality! I can’t wait to make this bread! I have been wanting to make my own bread for a very long time. I’m done with all those ingredients in store bought (even organic) bread that are added like thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, etc.
So many memories. My mother made bread every week. Our boys loved going to Grandma's on the day Mom was making bread. Nothing better than warm bread with butter. Another midwest memory (Wisconsin).
I LOVE the way you teach! I have always shied away from baking bread. Every time I’ve tried rolls or bread, I have Failed miserably! Your videos give me the confidence that I need! I’m definitely going to try this along side of your video! Thanks so much! It almost smelled through my computer! Yummy!❤😊
Thanks for the recipe and I really appreciate the fact that you celebrate the Midwest. I have been making bread for most of my life and find it very satisfying.
That’s exactly what he does; celebrates the Midwest!! And I love it!! ( I’m from central Indiana, so I can very much relate to many things about which he speaks!!❤️)
Ooooop" I'm so excited! I needed you to bring me out of my comfort zone...I'm not a big bread maker but I'm down to get this right. I'm glad the holidays are over because I love my personal cooking class ... My happy place is in the kitchen, some nice folk guitar music and learning something new. So" long story long ... thank you for helping me to find my way to fun and interesting recipes. Ps . could I ask a question off subject? Could you go over some curtains and bedding in the future I love your design style and need a bit of winter inspo that's winter not holiday. Oxox
I have my bread in the oven right now. The smell is intoxicating. Can’t wait! Thank you Kaleb. 🥰 Bread is done and we are loving it. Great recipe! It’s a keeper.
I've alwatched your plant videos and I just found this bread video. I just started baking yeast breads again after 35 years. I baked my breads in a wood cook stove with cedar wood. Wish I still had it. Thank you for this recipe. I subscribed ❤
I love baking bread. I bake a lot of sourdough, but I also love baking a nice, beautiful soft loaf of bread. What you said is absolutely correct bread doesn’t always look perfect but it doesn’t have to in order to taste amazing. Thank you for the tutorial.
This is an amazing recipe! My family absolutely loved it. I really liked the way you explained the steps in this video. Thank you so much for this keeper💛
I baked this last night and omg amazing!! I covered one loaf with jalapeño everything bagel seasoning and the bread is amazing with and without! Thank you! Now I'm on to your chocolate chip cookie recipe because I know you won't dissapoint!
I made these yesterday afternoon to go with our spaghetti... After they baked I let them cool for about 45 minutes, then I cut one in half and spread some butter and some garlic powder over it and I stuck it under the broiler and my husband ate almost a whole loaf with his spaghetti!
Homemade bread, the absolute best! Wonderful memories of my grandmother's kitchen in Iowa! Always wonderful with her homemade jam. Thank you for the memories :)
You’re right there is nothing like the taste of a toasted slice of homemade bread with butter. This was a really good video, very well made. I’m impressed about that too :)
Hi I've made it twice 😊 and let me tell you the best thing ever .THANK YOU THANK YOU 💞 I LOVE your recipes very easy and I Love how you explain them and I didn't have sesame seeds but I have " everything but the bagel" seasoning and it came out delicious 😋 once again THANK YOU 💞😘
My mother never made bread. I started experimenting shortly after I was married (I got for a bridal shower gift). I made bread all the time while raising my 3 kiddos. I remember their little bodies...waiting patiently...for me to cut the warm bread and smear it with butter and (homemade of course) strawberry jam. Then, when they got a little older, and could measure ingredients, we got a bread machine so they could make bread themselves. My daughter was actually the first one in our county (in Ohio) to use a bread machine for her Bread's 4-H project. Even with a hole in it (she had a good answer!) she got an A and placed at the county fair. To this day, when they're all over for dinner, the strawberry jam always gets put on the table if I've made fresh bread, rolls or biscuits.
I love the way to show us how to do this. So easy to follow along. I always thought you can’t mix the salt and yeast together as the salt is a yeast killer?
haha, "enjoy something delicious, if not, what are you doing?" Another great video. Thank you so much. I believe in these times; everyone should know how to make bread. God Bless everyone.
Looks great! I came to your channel to verify the rise time as I used another TH-cam recipe and she said to let it rise for 15 to 20 minutes on the counter. Needless to say that wasn't nearly enough time. I made rolls a long time ago and I remembered it should have been at least 1 hour or until doubled in size. As it turns out this style of bread is about the same.
I've made this bread many many times now and it always turns out great. I was wondering if I could add, ground flax seed, and sesame seeds to the dough. Would that change anything in the recipe? Would adding these require an increase in the water in the recipe?
Awesome video, just wondering what the ratios would be using active yeast? That's what I have and I'm trying to figure out the measurements of the remain water, salt and sugar.
Looks delish and it looks so simple. I actually feel like I could make it. Your butter looks so golden. Do you make your own or get it from local farmers?
I don’t have a mixer , but I am going to try to make ,also divided the recipe to 1 loaf , just for the fun , at my age (81) need to have something to do.
I would suggest baking them first, THEN freezing them. Also, if you slice it up before freezing, you can pull out the amount needed each time you want some. 😊
Thank you I want to make this bread. Can you make a bread with a sponge I want to learn to make pane Farnese, I guess for more flavor please and thank you !
