    Made this recipe for french bread last weekend. OMGosh! I made soup and wanted garlic bread to go with it. I baked the bread. It looked like it came from a bakery when I was done. I then sliced it up to make toasted garlic bread. It came out great. Hubby says no more store bought french bread.

    I have used several different recipes for french bread trying to find the right one! Finally I have found the best!! Thank you so much. I'm new to bread making and I love it. You also taught some techniques I didn't know! Once again thank you and may God Bless you.🌾🍞❤🇺🇸

    OMG. Seriously I have a terrible time with bread and this came out perfectly. Like no sh*t I've made six batches of bread in the last 2 weeks and this was the first one that came out perfectly. Wish I could post a photo!!

    Today marks the 3rd attempt making french bread. The last two times, although edible, the end result left much to be desired. So today I watched your video and changed the way I mixed the flour with yeast/water. I also emulated your bread blender gadget, using a dinner knife to stir instead of a spoon. The bread turned out so much better - the best so far. I do not use the egg for browning - but that is okay. I also halved ingredients since I am cooking for myself as to not waste flour, etc.

      I've tried to make bread three times the first try tasted more fermented than like bread and got really stale insanely fast. For the second attempt I used a different recipe that turned out much better and tasted the most like the type of bread you'd find in a bakery but was really lacking in that crunch crust. Mom recommended that I let it rise for a little bit longer so for the third attempt I tried the same recipe but let it rise over night. It doesn't help that I burnt the bread that time but it, yet again, had that fermented flavor. I also have to take away some points from the third attempt because mom wouldn't stop bothering me about the house smelling really bad when it was rising. I'm planning on trying this recipe which is basically the same as the one I used for attempts two and three but with a different mixing pattern just like yours so hopefully I won't mess it up

      I used to work in a retail bakery and the best thing is a spray bottle, keep the loaf moist borderline wet as it proofs. When you put it in the over spray some water in there for steam and again at 2 min inand it'll be perfect

    This recipe is great! I made it by hand and was kind of nervous at first... but it came out toasty from the outside and soft and pillowy from the inside. The flavor is good too...I will definitely make again. Thank you so much for this recipe.

      @@piaprice8000 You can't really call it cultural appropriation unless you label everything that. Yeast bread was being made by the Egyptians over 5000 years ago.

    I don’t do “abouta”. I weigh everything. French bread is nothing but a lean bread. It is made up of flour, salt, yeast, water and oil. I use the same recipe that I use for my Kaiser rolls and I weigh everything. The only difference between a French bread and a loaf of Country white bread bread is the ingredients. White bread uses milk instead of water, butter instead of oil and it has eggs in the mix. The eggs usually compensate for the fact that milk will give a drier dough than water. I add flour or liquid to the dough during the kneading stage in my standup mixer until the dough licks the mixing bowl clean. That, to me is the test to see if the dough is properly made. After the dough is kneaded I do the window pane test to see if Inhave kneaded it enough. If not, I knead it some more. I then cover the mixing bowl and let it go through the first rise. I then shape it and put it into a bread pan for its next rise. Then, it goes in the oven and then my belly.😢

    Where do you put ice cubes?

    • @TheCarefreeKitchen
      @TheCarefreeKitchen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      a method for getting really crusty french bread is to throw a few ice cubes in the bottom of your oven. It will create some steam which will give you a thicker crust on your french bread.
