i hope they third party games get the support they need. the first party games are pretty phenomenal on the pro. they’re a great example of what this console can do. shame that’s not the case across the board, but it rarely ever is on any system.
Everyone here acting like PSSR isn't a first outing for AMD. It will get better over time but the pro is testing the waters. Whether you buy into the test is on you. It was the same thing with the RTX 2x series back in the day.
I’m curious if a new version of PSSR went out today. Saw several games, first and third party, get Pro patches. Spiderman 2 and Rift Apart look notably cleaner now. And those were good even before. But Star Wars Outlaws has seen a significant bump in image quality, this was one of the problem games, and it now actually looks like Quality Mode at 60. I bet we’ll see patches roll out for the rest. I expected teething issues for the launch of a 1.0 upscaler, but the quick turnaround on these gives me a renewed confidence in the tech. Will be interesting to see DF’s continued coverage of this. Hoping to see Survivor get patched as well as there is clearly something being worked on here.
I want to try this, but it may creates other puzzling result which makes my anxiety level goes up. But seriously do you need to do this if Native Resolution exists?
@@nickochioneantony9288 it`s very usefull, I have older card, 3080 ti for which I paid 550$ almost 18 month ago and with upscaling and sharpening I can play in 4k DLSS with really smooth 80-130 fps. Looks rather great.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but devs rush to implement pssr because if a new version of pssr released, it will be updated globally in all games that implement it without the need for devs input.

I'm not hating the Console. I just don't understand why most comments that are made by console players go like this: "PC gaming is dead" "PS5pro Kills any PC" "PS5Pro can do 4K easily" (This happens with every console launch) Like why people who know nothing about hardware, come to the comment section and make themselves sound stupid ? If I don't understand something I wouldn't comment at all. Just baffles me. Yes, the PS5 Pro is a pretty nice midrange Gaming machine if you can find one for 699$. But where I live the PS5PRO cost nearly 900€. And truth to be told. This console does not have a performance of 900€ machine. So I have no idea what Sony is thinking. Upscaling like this isn't new though. DLSS has been around since 2019, or 2018 in beta form, we're talking about something nearly 6 years old. It's in a shit ton of PC games at this point. The only thing new about it Sony slapping their stamp on it.

I swear, I tried to use my mid range gpu at a low setting with dlss quality, and it still look and performs better than ps5 pro, lol I tried it on Stalker 2 and Remnant 2. Getting 140 plus fps with better image quality than consoles.
What’s your mid range GPU? Are you using Frame Generation? What resolution are you playing at? I’ve seen a GTX 1060 barely get 30fps in Stalker 2 at 1080p resolution on low. In fact, I read that even a RTX 3070 struggled at 1440p DLSS Quality on High, only getting around 38fps in Stalker 2. So… I can only imagine you’re lying and just wanting to hate just to hate.

Clearly my specs can run the game at a higher settings but I want to squeeze more fps. So low settings with dlss quality is more than enough for my taste. Why is every game that's released these days just f*cking broken remember when games shipped out and just worked. every time I see digital foundry review a game these days It's just a f*cking broken mess. not to mention they're charging the customer £60/80 for a game that's unoptimized glitchy and broken and don't even mention unreal engine 5 every game I've played that utilizes that engine runs like a bag of sh*t and always tends to be unoptimized. Game developers need to focus more on polishing their game rather than rushing it out of the game to gain cash quicker because that's what they'll do they'll release the game sooner than they should to make money sooner therefore it'll be a glitchy bugy mess and they'll be like f*ck it we'll just release a patch down the line at some point but doing this also effects sales due to the game having poor reviews due to a poor release so they're shooting themselves in the foot with that one.
It's not a huge disappointment. I love mine. But you people keep running around videos of the same 3 games, Survivor, Silent Hill 2, and Alan Wake 2, and acting like that's the entire library of games and that its somehow proof the PS5 Pro sucks. It's an amazing console. The other 50+ games that are PS5 Pro Enhanced all run great and look amazing. The big question of the PS5 Pro's PSSR was how it would behave with games that run at low resolutions, below 1080p, like Jedi Survivor, Alan Wake, Dragon Age, etc. And in those cases the PS5 Pro is a disappointment. And the problem is, the expectation from now on is that games will run at these very low resolutions in performance mode, so it's discouraging to see that the PS5 Pro doesn't hold up in this cases.

I've personally played Stellar Blade, Horizon Remastered, TLOU2, Dying Light 2, FF7 Rebirth, RE4, RE Village, Ratchet, Spidermans ha, etc. They all improved greatly on framerate and most on image quality. Not to mention the other games that improve framerates just from being more powerful. Death Stranding 4K60, Tales of Arise 4K60, Serious Sam(way better FPS with some drops), Metaphor ReFantazio and Elden Ring in the VRR window with improved framerates. Also, to my eyes Alan Wake and Silent Hill 2(playing through right now) don't even have great graphics to begin with. No I don't judge games based off playing on a less than 1% 4090. So them having such poor image quality on PS5 Pro doesn't make sense. No reason they shouldn't be using PSSR from a higher base resolution. I have no faith in Remedy doing anything they seem to favor PC anyway. The PS4 Pro had a bad rap at first also because of Watch Dogs 2, and Infinite Warfare running worse than base PS4. That was fixed and there's no doubt Jedi and Silent Hill 2 will be fixed for PS5 Pro.

On PC I use nvidia filter sharpen to improve DLSS sharpness for a small performance hit, difference is quite huge.

It does it and looks and plays great. 8k even down samples 6k to 4k. Looks insanely sharp.

Survivor's 'upgrade' is a massive disappointment. I hope the devs fix it

Even in Rebirth, which is probably the best game within PSSR, shimmering is quite noticeable on vegetation. PSSR is huge disappointed so far.

I find PSSR way cleaner but DLSS much more stable. DLSS looks blurry as hell.

This game looks horrible on the pro. Worse than the base ps5 and shimmering thing is annoying . The best thing about the pro for me as of now is all the storage and playing Lies of p for the first time. Awesome game
