Brilliant video, Ali. Due to children, I spent a long time away from the game. When I came back to it two years ago after an 18 year lay off. I had forgotten about shaft lean. It was pointed out to me that my shaft lean was there, but was not enough. I actually pre-set my shaft lean now at set up. The top of my club handle with a 7 Iron is about level with the center point of the front thigh. It does make a difference. I have picked up 10 yards per club. I am only 7 yards short of my 1985 distances now. I am at retirement age so I have slowed down a bit. Thanks for this.
Thanks Ali. I have used information from your videos for the last few months. It is particularly helpful for longer accurate shots. It paid off in the recent Australian Over 80’s championships where I was beaten on a count back for the Nett section, same score as the winner. Some improvement for an 85 year old. Thank you very much.
Good stuff, 3/4 swing compressed is the way for me. I’m guessing keeping pressure on back of shaft through driver impact is exactly the same even though you are going slightly up at impact.
Hi mate, see the way you lift your head on the follow through is that okay to do ? I was doing it at the range for awhile and I was striking it way better as I was getting through the ball better but my mate says I should keep my head down and eyes on the ball
Great video as usual - made a difference already 👍🏼 I see my pro regularly and I discuss what I have learnt from great videos. Only wish I could make it look as easy as you do - I play off 7 and it is hard work - I am not a natural ☹️😊🏌🏼♂️
@@AliTaylorGolf Thanks for the reply Ali. I used to be scoopy and generate a lot of spin with the steeper irons without shaft lean. I feel I am coming in at a better angle. All the hits sound clean.
@@AliTaylorGolf you should have a look. Personally it’s yourself and the Zen boys I’ve found most helpful as a struggling high handicapper. Cheers for all your help👍

Well done 👏
great video you've gone over some good key features

I think for the average high handicapper, it's more about accuracy than distance.
💯🙌🏾
Love love this. When attempting this, how do we keep from digging the club into the ground too early, in front of the ball. Weight shift?
Should say too early, Behind the ball
I’ve been hitting my irons good but little to no compression, thank you for these tips. 👍
No problem 👍

It's fine as long as the get the bottom of the swing arc in the correct place.
@@AliTaylorGolf thanks mate, I am working on it sometimes spray it out right. But when I catch it right it feels great
Can’t wait to get to work.

PS I am straighter since I rediscovered shaft lean, Ali. I don't know why, I'm not technical enough. I used to have natural fade. lol
Probably improved your swing path with the club travelling down more through impact.

Are you a fan of zen golf?
Not seen any of their stuff
What's your view on Steve Johnston's Eureka golf methodology?
@@HiteshRama001 I don’t know Steve personally but he seems a great coach.

Calling you out on your intro trackman numbers Ali….compressed ball with 0.4deg aoa and low point before ball… cmon. 😮💨
Compressed, just not very well.
