Agree'd 100%, Ali! My last swing thought before my backswing is: KEEP THE TRIANGLE!! When I do this, it helps me keep the face in line with my spine angle, and, like you said, it makes you turn your chest back more with your swing.
I have been working on exactly this part of my swing lately and have seen more consistent & well hit shots with less initial rotation…thanks for the video Ali.
Awesome advice, I used to do this but had lost my swing. Watching this, you reminded me and showed what I was doing wrong. After watching I immediately went out to the yard and practiced and it was like an instant fix. One that I’ll have to work on to get it grooved and break my bad habit but now I know what was wrong. Thanks!
It looks to me as though at the top of the backswing the club face angle is very similar regardless of whether it was shut or open in the takeaway. Am I missing something?

Great explanation and demo, Ali. Looking forward to seeing more with Swing Catalyst.

Absolutely ace. Thanks Coach 👍🏻
My pleasure Mike
Good stuff.
Absolutely spot on!! Something I've struggled with massively! Cheers for this video Ali!
Glad it helped Danny

What about grip? Perhaps a stronger grip would automatically assist in the match up with spine angle and clubface angle?
out to in with a strong grip will most likely produce pull hook.
Possibly Mark, depends on some other delivery conditions though.
i just wish it was this easy
It is simple, just not easy I'm afraid
Another great video. I am very much an open face player on the backswing, unfortunately.
Always time to fix it
"Simple" should mean the video is 2 or 3 min. max. Thanks for the effort tho.
OK, I find it challenging to explain fully in 3 mins. Maybe that is more of a quick fix?
