Great video, John. Use a little saddle soap to care for your bag and it will last for years. I inherited a leather garment bag from my father. He bought it in the UK when he was there pre-W.W.II and at 75+ years old it looks great. A little saddle soap works wonders. It keeps zippers gliding smoothly too. Here's a "prairie-ism" from my father.....it applies to buying quality. "Quality is like buying oats. If you want top quality oats you must pay a fair price. If you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, then we can talk discount."

It never occured to me that the markings on the zipper gave an indication as to its quality; I will be paying closer attention to this in the future. I also like the suggestion to pay attention the the lining of the bag. This is something I often overlook since you are not normally seeing it. This bag is definately a higher price point than I would normally consider but in the long run may end up costing me less overall because of its lifespan.

Off topic but involves leather: JACKETS. John, I’d love to see you do an entire vid on how to rock leather jackets for us older guys. The idea that we can’t pull them off is absurd. When I was dating (after a 20 year marriage/divorce) I wore leather jackets on dates with women far younger than me. I had lots of “success” dating, if you catch my drift. In fact, one woman in her late 20’s challenged me to a game of poker to try to win my black leather jacket. She lost. Lol. Cut to: my fiancée now is way hotter than anyone I dated in my 20s, she’s 40 (doctor), I’m 50. Young guys check her out in Vegas etc. Lastly: please invite us “old guys” to post pics in their leather jackets so we can dispel this myth once and for all. Great classy, mature content!
The best bags are MADE in ITALY. Italian bag makers still make them in Italy and the quality is very good and they are family run and owned businesses like "In pell Valentina" for example.

Nice leather bag, I upgraded my travel bags to full grain also. Mine are saddleback, colonel Littleton and whipping post brands. One point to mention these bags are heavy and that may be a consideration when purchasing. I will check daveed though. Mahi is another brand I'm looking at, made in India. Thanks
A very informative video on travel bags and this particular bag is impressive. You are spot on about cheap zippers. I have had zippers replaced in a couple of jackets because the zippers broke. BTW this video and the last one did not show up as new. I had to scroll down your other videos to find it. Peace :)

Thank you! I need a cut actually. Normally it's a 1 1/2 chip on the sides. My hair still grows pretty fast, so I get the top cut every 2-3 weeks or so.

To all of the gentlemen out there, PLEASE put away the backpacks while traveling and get yourself a carryall. Gentlemen use carryall bags and kids use backpacks while traveling. 😁😁

Your mic must be top notch, because it pics up every breath. If this is your money making endeavor, maybe invest in a voice/breath coach?
