- Never tried throwing an 1/8 oz. weight on a baitcaster before. The Tatula passed the test. I definitely feel more confident throwing light weights now.
Set up for this video:
GoPro Hero 5 Black camera
Daiwa Tatula 7'1 MH XF casting rod
Daiwa Tatula SW TW reel
15# Stren Fluorocast line
1/8 oz. VMC 3/0 swimbait hook
Gambler Lures swimbait
The Tatula SV TW is very versatile reel. I got a video casting a variety of light and heavy lures with it.
That scorpion is amazing! Highly recommend it! Also can't go wrong with any Tatula!
Since I don't own any JDM reels, thinking about that 17 Scorpion, lol.
You own a 17 Scorpion?
715basser no I got the 16 71xg
man that whole rig was probably almost 3/8 oz that any baitcaster can throw that
my t3 aie can ;) bait with hook its even 1/2 oz
This is 3.75" (8g) or 4.25" (12g) lure and hook 1/8oz. Minimum 11g.
I would guess that's it's more like 2/8oz than 1/8oz. But still a good reel and a good caster.
I have it to and I like it a lot.
U mean 1/4 lol
I want to get a bait caster. Borrowed a friends abu Garcia silver max but want to try something better. I’m getting better at avoiding backlash. Heard the Daiwa zillion is hard to backlash. Is the tatula sv tws almost the same as zillion?
Wendy, any reel can backlash depending on the person. Zillions are better crafted. They cast more smooth because they have better bearings and a free floating spool.
If you're looking to up your baitcaster go with a tatula ct type r or the tatula sv tw. They're a step below the zillion but they are the tatula's are the best value out there and can throw nearly anything. They're very hard to backlash if you have the settings right and aren't trying to get one lol.
PTdoubleOT Thanks for the info. I bought a Tatula sv tw yesterday and love it! Now I need a second!
Gotta weigh the plastic with the hook & sinker to get an exact weight..
Definitely no less than 1/4 ounce, 1/8 is like a rooster tail!!! Great reel though I just picked one up, just a misinformed video 🤙🏾
Do u adjust the spool knob according to the weight of the lure? Or do you just preset it once with little play on the spool and only adjust the mag dial to avoid backlash for any lure?
I work with the mag dial first then I slowly adjust the spool knob, if needed.
I usually set the tension knob to have barely any side to side play in the spool then, I just use my brakes. It allows me to cast a wide variety of lures with SV reels.
Can you use this reel for jerkbait fishing, lures up to 90 gram?
No, this is made for light lures and thin lines.
Step up to the tatula 200 or 300 to cast heavy lures and thick braided lines.
Which this rod name?bro
Daiwa Tatula rod.
i would go with 12lb-10lb line on there. Get a little better casting.
in your opinion which is a better reel. Tatula SV TW or Tatula CT Type R?
The Tatula SV TW feels more solid than the CT Type R. To me, the SV TW feels as solid as the 1st Gen Type R.
I have both. The sv feels like a bit more of a jump than the $20 price difference. If i could go back... Is have 2 sv's instead
I like you👍🙏 tatula
What line is that?
15# stren fluorocast.
wellllllllll. Its not reelly.lol I would say its heavier but being I would use a lighter line it would probably have good result as well.
Mantap done sub
