SV Spool from Daiwa is the same concept of MGL Spool from Shimano. This concept is popular in Japan market as Japanese anglers prefer using small line & light lure. This concept is not about the brake, it is about a design of the Spool & will not effect to the casting skill. Some thinks that casting distance will increase when using baitcasting with SV or MGL Spool, in fact it is as you use small line.
I have tatula sv tw 103hs 2020 version. . And i have a problem casting 10gram soft plastic lure. . It cannot travel that far even though im giving so much power to cast (roll cast with 0 wind). . And my braking system is set to half (10) and i tried to lower it down to 8-6 but it feels like my braking is always set to full!!! . . My tension is just about 0 when there is no side to side play. . But i dont know why i can cast twice more farther when using 7 gram lure same set up, same brake, same tension, same medium rod. . Is my reel broken? I just got it 1 week ago. . This stress free versatile giving me more stress 🤣
Technically you can swap the spool for a Tatula SV spool. However, it may not perform as well as a Tatula SV due to the side plate housing being slightly different. This could lead to the reel being slight over or under braked.
Hey brother, great video and explanation. Can you help me with something? Would you go for Tatula SV TWS or Tatula elite cast?? Mostly top water lures and froging :) casting into some cover and some skipping. Thank you in advance
Both are great choices! The Tatula SV TW is a very versatile casting reel, yet the Tatula Elite may be more suitable for heavier duty techniques like frogging. Cannot go wrong, either way!
Just bought my Diawa, and now I'm obsessed
They make awesome reels!
Great explanation. Thanks Pete
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you. I got an rcs 1000 orange sv spool on a T3 ballistic. What other reels will that spool fit???
Hi Robert! Thanks for watching! It should also fit in the Steez and Zillion models.
May i know the sv spool weight in gram??
204g
The spool, not the reel hehehe
Thank you this video really cleared up a lot for me. But one question. Would
The sv be beneficial for flipping and pitching.
Absolutely! The SV spool provides a very controlled cast. Great for skipping!

Try tuning the dial back to 0 and slowly work it upwards until you find the sweet spot!
Can you put the sv spool into a standard tatula?
