Daiwa Prorex TW 100SV vs Shimano Metanium MGL Light weight casting

- Testing out the Prorex TW 100SV and needed a good competition so the Metanium MGL had to show it's best part.
The result was not as expexted and I was very amazed by the result.
Jöns thanks a lot for the Video personally didn’t expect the results😅 Atm i am searching for a perch baitcaster so what would you recommend for bait from 4-24g I thought of the Prorex pe sv tw or tatula sv tw but what would you recommend ?
Hi, I haven't tested the Prorex PE so I can't say anything about it but it should be fine as well as the Tatuma that I am using a lot still. (Conquest 100/Antares 100/Tatula 100 is my three reels I mostly use)
I would guess any of the two would be fine, but just guessing.

Thx alot for the uploaded videos about the Daiwa Prorex. Im thinking of getting a Westin Powercast T 20-80g or Powerstrike T 20-60g for medium pike fishing. In the Daiwa reel description it says 5g-80g Baits are good casting weights. What is your experience ? I would definately use lures from 20g up to about 60g/80g. In this case which Braid would you recommend to have the best of both worlds in the casting ? Regards
With that reel you cant have to thick line. I would use something like 0,20mm for that. So you could get the amount of line on the spool that you need. But that reel, Prorex SV is not needed for that kind of fishing, it is made for more lightweight fishing and thats where it shines!

Ja, det är verkligen så. Inte hört något negativt om den alls ännu. Men det kommer nog snart. Ska ge min en service nu snart, kommer video på det med. Ska bli spännande att se hur den ser ut inuti efter att ha fått jobba hårt hela våren/sommaren.
Hey Jons, if I can make a suggestion. Use 2 or 3 inside brakes for the Metanium and you should see a big increase in distance. The new SVS infinity doesnt like going down to 1 brake for some reason.

I tried that together with a lot of settings but the final result I got was the best with the amount of brakes. Usually I have 1-2brakes active, I think I use 2 now. But with that wind it was that day it just didn't work with that settings.
But I can agree with you, two is mostly better for some reason. Maybe stability of the brake?

Me too I have to say. I thought the MGL would be much better in every way. But the wind did it's part and fucked the MGL up :) :)
I see you treat those who comment suggestions much better than THE REEL TEST.
I don't know how the response if from THE REEL TEST but I take that as my response is good :)

@@tobiasvalter9380 Låter bra. Den sväljer rätt mycket lina och jag vill minnas att min fyllde spolen precis med 150m. Så blir nog rätt bra med 0,12mm också :)
Fiskar så mycket gös bland sten så vill ha lite grövre än 0,12mm som blir i klenaste laget med förslitningar och sånt.
What’s the difference between the prorex sv tw and the tatula sv tw ?
Mostly the color. Also drag is UTD vs ATD. Minor differences.

For me there is no surprise, daiwa magnetic brakes perform better in windy conditions, and it performs better in every conditions with compact baits. I like shimano svs when throwing jerkbaits it performs better and i get better distance.. but for like jigs and spoons, daiwa will perform better.
I have the same experience. Daiwa has a really good system.
I have both reels. And you need to learn how to use the shimano its a way better reel. I never have to change multiple settings. What the review reel test. The metanium out cast must reels in must applications
For light weight the Prorex is the better reel. But when getting above 10-15gr they are about the same. The Metanium is better built and a lot better looking.
Vad sjukt. kör själv med Metanium MGL samt den äldre Metaniumen, och även Scorpion 70. och alla 3 spöade min Daiwa Steez, Vart sjukt besviken på steezen. Men dyrast är inte alltid bäst!
Jens Persson Nej verkligen inte. Just Steez är ju väldigt dyr, eller tja den reas ju inte ut på samma sätt som andra rullar. Är själv sjukt nyfiken på en Steez och har varit påväg att köpa flera gånger. Som tur var så var höger slut när jag väl bestämt mig så jag hann fundera en gång till.
Det låter dock på dig som att man ska låta bli att köpa den.
Är det lite som Mgxtreme att den känns bra i butik men att fiska med den är "sådär". Mer en hyllprodukt.

@@jeeenzify Har köpt en Steez. Den är som du sa, lite av en besvikelse. Men sen är ju frågan vad man förväntade sig. Att den skulle vara 4000kr bättre än en Tatula TW SV?
Men ja, det är inte en dålig rulle. Dock motsvarar inte priset vad man får. Så det gör ju att man blir besviken.
Ja det kunde man inte tro om Shimano rullen, bra jobbat med videon

You’re casting skills don’t seems so good.
When you set the reels on the limit thats what you get. If I would want to cast safe the distance would be less.

The Daiwa reels with SV is great. Much better than the regular Daiwas. The Prorex I or Daiwa SV is my choise.
