      I second that! Should have left it behind the license plate! A regal with a filler cap on the side is goofy ! Not to mention, with it being behind the plate you don't have to worry about what side it's on when you pull up to the pump! As towards it being custom, there's a such thing as too custom. I feel like it now adds a limit that the original engineers previously perfected, and now you can only get to the pump on one side! Makes a whole lot of sense! Not!

    It’s a shame you guys didn’t do a Buick V6 build for this car there are a lot of Buick enthusiasts that would’ve loved to see that build that instead of just another LS swapped car on top of all of that the new tech that the Buick guys have for that V6 it would’ve made a great show even better

    • @rarkitorparkit
      @rarkitorparkit 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel ya. The LS is a great engine with proven potential and relatively affordable build costs and will fit in virtually anything with ease, yet the Buick V6 is what it deserves and would of made it more desirable compared to the *yawn* LS conversion.

    • @kmoss9521
      @kmoss9521 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some states have safety inspections required every 2 years where they look very closely at that. Some emissions crazy states don’t even let you swap engines out of cars even if it’s a newer more efficient motor or the vehicle had an option for that motor. What’s on the Vin# better be under the hood. I had this issue with my truck I wanted to put the larger motor in my truck because it would get a 30HP and 60TQ upgrade along with 1MPG better but here in California that’s not allowed.

    • @rarkitorparkit
      @rarkitorparkit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh heard about those CARB laws and how Cal has been strict on that stuff for decades. So how does that work then? Can your car be legal in one state and not in the next? Or are the penalties for ignoring regulations pretty minor so nobody abides?
      Or just fang it around with sketchy modifications until the 2 year inspection?
      My curiosity comes from 80% of thes vids on TH-cam that I watch from the states somebody is modifying a steering, brake,suspension or safety component, having little or no experience or knowledge, no testing performed to the component with the resulting work having obvious visual flaws at the very least but the next thing they're ripping down the public highways and streets on full send.
      In New Zealand we can modify most 'critical' components however it the modification must be performed by a competent person for the desired work and the part is NDT if welded for flaws, if these conditions are not met the car cannot receive a special 'cert plate' from a unique arrangement made a few decades ago by NZ car clubs and workshops with division set up called LVVA (low volume vehicle association) with our department of transport to indicate the vehicles modification is legal and safe to be used on public roads. No cert plate and you cannot register the vehicle to use on the road. We also have a inspection (WOF) on a vehicle every 12 months (6months for older cars) where the vehicle is inspected for general fitness and any modifications and if there is no cert plate for the mods, you cannot receive a WOF, and therefore unable to use it on public roads.
      Sounds like a drama but works well. Stops dikheads killing innocent others with a substandard modification.
      Sorry for the novel. Just curious and thot share how we do it in Aotearoa. Plus were on lockdown here so im bored chitless

I especially would have kept the filler behind the license plate. I used to rewire cars and pickups , not hard just gotta know where stuff goes and figure the routing.

    its a shame that you don't put a vent in the side of the fill tube to trip the overflow shut off on gas pump nozzles.. coming in the side of the filler tube about 6 inches down from the top.. running along side the filler tube and coming in thru the a bulk head fitting in the bolt on bracket. with a J shaped tube that allows fuel vapors to come up the tube until it reaches a point .. then liquid comes up and shuts off the nozzle..

      andoletube Plus the -6AN lines! I mean you are building a setup that can make 600hp and you don’t go at least -8AN. Plus since they had a nice square tank to add to why not build a surge tank around the pump? There is no control of the fuel around the pump. Then he mounts the fuel filter right behind the muffler with flexible (meltable) line going in and out. Just no thought as to full system integration.

      if it isn't an original GN, why bother building it. a reproduction is just just a phony. might as well make something custom rather than what everyone expects.

    • @charlesparr1611
      @charlesparr1611 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cap behind the plate would put the cap almost downhill from the tank. Remember they’ve got a cell in the trunk now.... when the filler neck is practically horizontal, not only does it fill annoyingly slowly, but gas constantly sloshes up the filler neck. And might even stay there if parked on a hill.

      Is it your money the're spending ?
      Sometimes building a car isn't just all about that resale value and filling up that dollar sign you got spinnin round your mellon with CASH CASH CASH
      I have two cars that I don't even count build costs on, because there worth more to me than anyone could imagine let alone afford. My 1st car and my fathers.
      And I already know I'm not recouping my dollars because I'm never selling them.
