    My dad always says a car should stop before it goes. Being able to stop faster is always a good thing. It might even keep you from wrecking your ride you know? 👍

    When I was a kid, my neighbor had a 69 Z28, 4 speed and a DZ302. It was this crazy orange with white stripes. To this day my favorite car ever!

      I had the chance to by a '69 Z28 as my first car in 1988. It was $5000 and looked great. Had the cash but my Dad said no. He said it'd kill me and the insurance would be too high. :-(

      @@JerryDLTN When I got my license at 16, my friends brother was selling a Red Cutlass convertible with a 455 and 4 spd. My dad took a look under the hood and said "No fkn way"😂 So I feel your pain but my father was right, I was all balls and no brains back then 😜

      Jerry Lifsey My dad did the same thing back in 78 when I looked at a 70 Boss 302 Mustang, and a 69 Z28...guess the old guys knew. I settled for a 73 Type LT RS Camaro...I finally got a 69 RS/SS with a ZL2 hood when I was 33. Didn’t need the old mans permission then. LOL!

    Some people turn their nose up at restomods. I personally love them. I think it's great to see these vehicles surviving and driving as a daily again. I wish I still had my 1971 Pontiac T-37. I would throw an LS in it and put modern underpinnings in it in a heartbeat. I would probably drive it every day again. Now if it was an early 69 Trans Am....... You BETTER restore that mutha funka back to original. There are some rides that need to be preserved.

    • @squidusn71
      @squidusn71 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends if that 69 trans am have all the original parts left in it. If it's just a shell, by all means cut away and stuff a modern drivetrain and suspension.

    Heidt's suspension is a great company and I've been to their fall open house car show a few times and they have a impressive facility with some quality suspension products. Their subframes, rear suspension options, along with their independent rear suspension sets ups are works of art. This Camaro should handle great and that updated subframe is something I wanted to do on mine, but just couldn't swing. Rest Mods can be murder on the budget.

    Never apply silicon or silicon/gasket before installing the crown and pinion gear set. You may disturb or smudge the silicon, necessitating touching up or redoing your work. Work systematically, in other words in an orderly manor.Great video, and keep up the good work.

      Google it. Everyone has a different budget in mind, these builds provide examples of things that are available and what's involved. Everyone may not have the funds to use these exact parts, but could use some ingenuity and creativeness to accomplish something similar without all the fancy, expensive bolt ons. This shouldn't be looked at as some sort of recipe to build a car piece by piece, IMO. It should be seen as an example of things that are available if you have the money, but also showing you areas that you can modernize as your budget allows to bring an older car to more modern standards. I hope that makes sense, not always the best at putting my thoughts into words.
