Welllllll, I'll say this: I have killed a lot of deer with counterfeit broadheads. Personally, I think that most all of the heads built here in the states are way over priced as are the bolts and arrows." Whatever the market will bear" is not a philosophy that I buy into. Why shouldn't I buy a less expensive product that does the same job. You just have to a little careful in what you buy. I've seen the most expensive heads blow apart after a none hit. Hey, to each their own. Mine is keeping money in my own pocket. On a different note, if U.S. head prices were kept to a reasonable, then why buy elsewhere?
Agreed. We are constantly bombarded with “buy American” but a lot of things are very overpriced. Also just because it was made in the USA doesn’t mean it’s good or great quality. There’s a lot of crap made here too. This knockoff broadhead he’s showing here would probably fly and kill just fine. Maybe not last as long but it will get the job done. That it wobbles a tiny bit so what! It’s hunting not Olympic archery. That tiny wobble is going to be the difference.
I agree , why do they package these broad heads with expensive graphics im just going to throw it away ! Once you get your CNC machine set up they will put out 10 an hour 40$ is ridiculous !
I wanna see how they perform. USA vs Chinese flight & penetration. Actual results are far more interesting than saying it's like comparing apples to oranges
I bought the Chinese rage I shot 3deer with them. I found all 3 deer with good blood trails. They flew so good. Just sayin the reason I bought them I couldn't afford the real broadheads. If they would lower the price. I wouldn't mind getting American made product. I get what can afford.
Did ya shoot it. I'd did and they shoot lights out good and sharpen well. That said I too and a magnus fan and by at least 1 or 2 packs a yr. I keep a nock off incase there's a pest I want to shoot. They dang sure ain't a magnus but they will work
im pretty darn sure the chinese were doing archery long before we were. i use their heads, i buy them, test the heck out of them, sharpen them, and kill deer, and repeat. i can honestly say i have never lost a deer due to broadhead failure, i did have a rage break a blade on a pass thru, but i still recovered the buck. i now only used fixed blade heads because i like to sharpen and re-use. i dont throw my pocket knife away either after i cut something with it.
I agree with you. Why would you buy a $800-$1000 bow, $150 rest, $100 arrows, $100 sight, and $5 broadheads. I budget hunt, that doesn’t mean I buy cheap stuff.
Good video!! It's not just support to companies, we owe it to the animals to shoot dependable broadhead, that will survive a misplaced shot and not crumble when hitting bone. I know sometimes things get tough, but I will never go cheap on the "pointy" thing at the end of my arrow that I depend on to make a quick ethical kill!
I think what steers shoppers for any product, to overseas stuff, is the price is not just less, it is INSANELY less. This video is pre-Shamdemic, so prices of Chinese knock off stuff has gone way up, but still quite a bit cheaper than American made. Even if the quality is LESS, at times, it may still be ADEQUATE. Having said that, we do have to be careful about purchases made directly overseas thru Ebay, etc. Example: My experience, some of the foreign advertising titles are just absolute LIES. I ordered a dozen "2219 ARROWS" from China, that were NOT 2219s. Worse than that, about half of them WERE BENT right out of the package. Having not learned my lesson, I ordered a knock off HALF THE PRICE trail camera that had all the amazing specs American marketed trail cams have, but the sound/picture quality was really bad and the camera failed before the end of ONE season. On another tangent, look on the cover of almost any American name brand trail camera, you will see "Made in China". Like you said, if you can't buy American made, at least buy products that are quality controlled by Americans. If you order DIRECTLY from overseas, BEWARE.
Yep, I got some arrow that were supposed to be Musen Aluminum 1916/500 off E-Bay but I got another brand that is Sharrow or something else that is labeled a 550 by the company so they would be an 1816 or 19.5 16. The other thing is they were supposed to be sold in the USA via a warehouse but rather that was just the ship to location before they sold them to me. I have the Musen, 1916 aluminum arrows that are an actual 1916 or 1917 in size/weight as I did compare in flex to some arrows I got my mom, 1816 that are some Easton aluminum model.
I've never bought knock off broadheads but then again I didn't know it was a thing. With that said broadheads are extremely over priced for what they are and the "American" ones are made in China too. They might be assembled here but they're all made overseas, not all Chinese manufacturers are created equal. The "American" broadhead manufacturers are making an absolute killing. Yeah it's expensive buying a $1000 bow, but you're buying broadheads every year. The margins are enormous (much greater than the expensive bow) and the prices they ask are way out of line.
Hi Nate. Bow hunting is illegal in the UK.. But curiosity got the better of me a while ago and I got some Chinese Magnus Stinger and G5 Montec's. (I liked the shape) I guess the quality control is all over the place because my Magnus copies were packaged individually in bubble wrap, they are spot on with weight, spin tests and no rattles. They are razor sharp tho the surface finish has grind marks and I have the same silver stainless screw. The G5 copies are consistent in weight and spin great and again were packaged individually in bubble wrap. They arrived blunt.. but I spent 5 minutes on each head with an oil stone and they sharpened up so now I can shave with them. I have 6 of each, I've shot them all and they fly and hit within the Vegas 10 ring at 20 yards. I'll never legally be able to use them, but if there is a zombie outbreak or the scare mongered impending apocalypse due to Brexit actually happens. I'm ready. :-)
I bought the same cheaper version of the G5s (6 for $20 on Amazon) they were spot on for weight and really sharp. The prices on the brand name products are just rediculous. The flight pattern of all six was equal and able to hold a group at 2 inches at 30 yrds. Love this arrow and I won't ever buy a name brand product when the price is around 10$ for a single broadhead.
Ford, Chevy, Dodge? Come to western Montana and look at the number of Subaru, Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai shitboxes driving around. The American made broadheads are nice but expensive BECAUSE American companies want to mark everything up 30%-50% over what it cost to manufacture. Chinese companies will take a 10%-20% markup and be glad to have it. It's about profit margin. I shoot Allen fixed 3 blade broadheads and they are fine out to my max 40yd range. Most Chinese knockoffs will be. QC really matters at ranges longer than 40yds. The only QC problems I've seen with my broadheads is that they needed sharpening before using. They were sharp just not to my personal satisfaction.
Hey, i just started shooting bow, I'm still new to it. I wanted to get more accurate and consistent shots, so i bought a quick release, scott archery quick shot. But it seemed to throw my shot off even further, like a foot at 15 yards. I don't have a D loop yet, i was clipping on right under the arrow. So my question is, am i doing something wrong, or is it something with the release that i don't know about? Thanks
@@averagejackarchery yes, i was. And at first i thought it was just because i went from fingers to the quick release, but my sight doesn't move far enough to get it even close. I don't know if i have a bad setup or if there's something else I'm just missing, any help is appreciated
It all comes down to anchor point and, now that you're using a release, the peep you're using. Shooting without a peep isn't 100% necessary, but its 1000% better when you use a mechanical release. Your anchor point will change when using a release aid, and will definitely point your point of impact in a different place. Also, if you're not shooing anymore and just clipping onto the string, you arrow will be pinched differently with the release, and can cause different flight.
Just recently purchase some ebay/Chinese G5 broadheads for just for back range practice, instead of shooting field points. but defiantly will only buy the OEM G5 for hunting .
Hi I love your videos and this is a good one but that having been said I have killed humanely four deer with broad heads from China, when it’s a one shot deal I don’t want to waste five bucks for slightly better broad heads, that are likely also made in China. Branded broad heads are way over priced and I’m not overly thrilled with resharpening them. The Chinese broad heads are plenty sharp and I don’t feel bad throwing them away if I miss and hit dirt. That having been said keep the vids coming your awsome
Certainly seems like a non bias review . I really want to shoot American made but 100$for a quiver full of heads is a hard sale . If u want to shoot those big Indian heads prolly would have to shoot some real ones tho.
Why why did you grab your face and GROAN WHYYYY!! I LITERALLY LOL and almost spewed my morning coffee across the living room!!! I totally agree with you 100 percent!!! MERICA! I've got the same issues with Gun Control Bills here in Illinois , OH IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN...UGH!!! But that's a whole different issue!! Thanks for your videos! Keep up the great work! Really Enjoy Them! God Bless You
I'll buy the cheap stuff all day....if you want to climb on your soap box go for it. I'll kill deer with my 1600 mathews and knockoff montec like I have been.
I have china made hypodremic,no issues work well I have china made NAP DRT clone, no issues, strong materials , hair cutting sharp, no issues work well. This is all so i can said.
Do you understand, not everyone can afford $40 for 3 broadheads ? I have various knockoff broadheads with plenty of deer kills, if you break a blade who cares, throw it away. Guys with money on TH-cam who hunt act like bass fishermen, it's all about money money money. You may be able to afford ridiculous prices on american made broadheads. Keep in mind, some of us hunt to put meat on our table because we can't afford beef. We are all hunters, this kind of bashing in my opinion is showing off. Buy what you can afford, go enjoy the great outdoors and put meat on your table. Hunting is not about money. I invest my money in ME, and putting meat on my table. I can't stop laughing at your arrogance. You are the Googan squad of deer hunting 😂
I buy and American-made product ONCE for less than $40 and then get a lifetime, full replacement, no questions asked warranty on it and you think that's arrogant...?
Great topic! I encountered an issue where I went to purchase Rage chisel tip 2 blade heads off eBay for only a few bucks cheaper than the store sold them for but free shipping made it convenient. I was sent Rage hypodermics instead. The package looked legit but it seemed too good to be true. After comparing the heads with a store bought hypodermic I could easily tell that I was sent knock offs. So just keep in mind, it's not always the " by the dozen..wrapped in bubble wrap packaged heads" that are knockoffs
took 1 coyote, 2 turkeys, 1 doe , with the same broadhead, those animals didnt care what the packaging looked like. if you want to buy american thats great, i almost always do, but dont say the broadheads dont work, cuz they do.
Lmao .... I had to learn this myself with a few different packages.... Spend the extra twenty dollars or so and get something real, so you will not be disappointed 💯
100% agree with you there bud I bought 2 3 set of $15 broad-heads and they are to cheap but at the same time I can shoot them with out warring having them to brake. I can shoot at the a deer target to sight in my bow in then I’ll shot 36 dollar broad-heads to see how acutely they are with the cheap version and I’m not 100 percent sir that I don’t know that they shoot actually so I’m going to test that. The cheap version is way too doll so Going to have to sharpen them which is a big waste of my time when I could buy a $36 set of Broad-heads and I don’t have to worry about them to be sharp.

Yes I agree.
They’re all made over seas . I hate to be the barrier of bad news but it’s true .
Thank you for bringing this topic up!

This video is so silly, folks are killing game with a hammered chunk of steel or napped rock.
100% agree
I agree with you. Why would you buy a $800-$1000 bow, $150 rest, $100 arrows, $100 sight, and $5 broadheads. I budget hunt, that doesn’t mean I buy cheap stuff.
some china(?)head are good for hunt
hay buddy read the back of the package 90% of the so called original broadheads are made in china
My personal favorite, Magnus, is made right in Great Bend, KS and as long as Mike Sohm has anything to say about it, it always will be!
I don't know about broadheads. But a lot of bows which are being sold in Lancaster named as 'This brand' and 'That brand' actually made in China.
Good video!! It's not just support to companies, we owe it to the animals to shoot dependable broadhead, that will survive a misplaced shot and not crumble when hitting bone. There not bad for entry level vikings and Indians would have loved some knock off broadheads beats a stone dull iron

I bet the deer can't tell the difference between them when he gets shot
Price gouging doesn't help the average American sports man,who can waist 50 bucks on three range broadheads, magnus is even worse

Some but not all, magnus is completely done here which is why they offer a lifetime warranty.
I can personally guarantee you that a Magnus broadhead is 1000% made here in the USA with USA materials and USA labor.
Absolutely nothing wrong with Chinese Broadheads. Test them out. They charge way too much for American made.
Amen
you going to the outdoor show in h-burg?
I don't think I'll be able to make the trip this year. Time and money just aren't something I have at the moment. Haha!
Are any of them made in the USA? At $50.00 for 3 broadheads they all need to be made here.
My personal choice, Magnus, is made, assembled, packaged, and shipped from Great Bends, Kansas!
Hi Nate.

You're buying junk china broadheads. But I don't argue with idiots they only drag you down to there level and beat you with experience
Hey, i just started shooting bow, I'm still new to it. I wanted to get more accurate and consistent shots, so i bought a quick release, scott archery quick shot. Hey have you ever tried the Turbonock T-4 ?
hope you have heard from them..
Just recently purchase some ebay/Chinese G5 broadheads for just for back range practice, instead of shooting field points.
but defiantly will only buy the OEM G5 for hunting .
I heard a quote from one archer and it went like this:
"Real archers choose reliability over price, other "archers" choose price over reliability"
Yeah typical arrogance from wanna be professional bow hunters

Certainly seems like a non bias review . I really want to shoot American made but 100$for a quiver full of heads is a hard sale . If u want to shoot those big Indian heads prolly would have to shoot some real ones tho.
The Walmart near me that carries archery gear is closing everything out. I just picked up G5 Montecs for half off! Deals can be had if you're patient.
Why why did you grab your face and GROAN WHYYYY!! I LITERALLY LOL and almost spewed my morning coffee across the living room!!! I totally agree with you 100 percent!!! MERICA! I have china made hypodremic,no issues work well
I have china made NAP DRT clone, no issues, strong materials , hair cutting sharp, no issues work well.
This is all so i can said.
Agreed with everything you said, but I do buy cheap broadheads and also high dollar ones. I got my coyote, coons, hog broadheads
Send em ta me , I'll drew em on my arrow !
Do you understand, not everyone can afford $40 for 3 broadheads ? I have various knockoff broadheads with plenty of deer kills, if you break a blade who cares, throw it away. I gotta give credit to Wal-Mart for carrying more USA products
Rage are made in China and they're carried by Walmart
Great points, Jack! Thanks for the input
👍
Love it! Similar to my findings when I did a review on my channel regarding China knock off Magnus heads. Preach it brother!
Great video topic! I'd also encourage people to go a step further and try to by most of their equipment from local shops. Gotta support them too!
What if the person running the local shop happens to be Chinese?
The cheap version is way too doll so Going to have to sharpen them which is a big waste of my time when I could buy a $36 set of Broad-heads and I don’t have to worry about them to be sharp.
i am loyal to china ,and will spend 100s on the products lol
That my friend will kill!
After listening to Greg Poole's podcast, and other things we can't afford to not support our local shop. If your local shop is terrible, tell them privately why your experience was so bad. Often it's a misunderstanding. If it's really too far away, Lancaster or 3rivers. This applies doubly or triply to broadheads. Maybe it should become part of the hunting equipment regulations, something like "no broadhead may be used with a cutting diameter less than [your state's minimum diameter] and must have the approval of the Archery Trade Association and/or be subject to federal excise taxes." I'm tired and not a lawyer, so maybe the wording isn't perfect.
This has to be the worst comparison video I've ever watched. It's so one sided one would be led to believe it's American. From a Canadian perspective it's very different. The price of American made broadheads up here is astronomically high. I know several traditional archers who are using Chinese broadheads, even Chinese carbon arrows, but it wasn't without trial and error. There are some very good ones and some downright terrible ones. Even broadheads that are seemingly of the same design can be made at different factories with varying degrees of QA. Over the last few years I've purchased Zwickey clones from three different vendors. All were different quality with two borderline acceptable and one which was outstanding. Its hit and miss but with the broadheads so cheap it's also fun. When you find a good one, buy a bunch cause many of these Chinese factories only do limited runs then switch to another product, like cellphones or sunglasses...lol.
I bought a Chinese copy drop away arrow rest, what a waste of money that was, it was marking my flechings and sending my arrows everywhere so I bought a NAP Apache, wow what a difference. It's worth spending the extra money on equipment because in the end you'll have to spend more to replace the cheap crap.
