I never knew Mike Trout was a pitcher too! (Funny how the starting pitcher for this game has the number of the franchises greatest player)
Same number as Vladimir Guerrero too
What's funny is that #27 is going to have to be retired twice. Vladimir Guerrero went into the Hall Of Fame with an Angel cap. He's the only player that can say that...until Trout joins him in 15-20 years. So the Angels will have two players in the HOF with Angel caps, and both wore #27.
What a comeback, knew this one would be in here, only real ones know about it
It's one thing to see it on a video it's another thing to actually be there I was blessed that my Dad worked for Southern California Edison for 30 years the stadium renovation was paid for by Edison and the stadium was called Edison Field for a short period of time between like 98 and 04 And during that time Edison employees Got season tickets Free And he was an employee at the time So he got the free season tickets "Playoffs Included" because of that I got to see Game 6 and 7 for free I've been seeing Angel games For over 25 years born and Raised in Orange County I have never seen that stadium go that crazy when Darin Erstad caught that final out before or since It was such a beautiful moment
I remember this as a kid cause I was a big Tim Salmon and Troy Glaus fan at the time.
What a game. Dusty cursed. I mean bringing Felix in the 7th was right move. You just have to tip your cap. Spezio with probably top 3 best AB in WS history. Kept fighting off. Finally got that inside pitch. All that team needed was an inch. Spezio dinger gave them the title. Never a doubt after that they would lose G6 or 7.
It wasn't the right move, are you nuts? Hernandez was overused and had a dead arm. Dusty was an idiot. Classic overmanager
Hats off to Joe Buck (the best to ever do it) and Tim McCarver (occasionally great) for an incredible job. You can hate Buck all want, but he doesn't have to scream to get his point across. Just an incredible game and broadcast.
Buck is usually meh but he was particularly awesome calling this game
Joe let the game fold out naturally. What you saw, what happened, was all that was needed. No narration necessary.
Sometimes I felt that Buck did not care at all about what he was doing, and there was this interview in which he made me partially right (said he'd rather watch The Bachelor than sports he did not called).
But especially after 2011 he improved a lot
For the next one, I think one is the 2014 ALDS Game 2 between the Orioles and Tigers. So many good moments
From the Depths.. to Number Uno💯
win or lose i ride or die my angels
In a way, the 2002 World Series is to Giants fans what the 1986 World Series is to Red Sox fans.
I remember this one well, great game
I love these videos, but it would be cool if you did a little bit contextualizing each of these games. Even just a little text sprawl, describing what's on the line for each team, where that team was at at the time and what this specific win would mean for that franchise
Too much info it’s a baseball game
Greatest WS comeback
Dusty won one 20 years later
Baseball gods denied Bonds
Giants won 3 World Series but this will always be my team. It still hurts my dude why am I here
Here after Dusty Baker blew another 5 run lead in the World Series.
Here for the same reason
Here after Dusty won the championship.
@@rc7625 He finally got one. I'm happy for him, he deserved it.
@3:08 I could watch that all day
Who were those people they kept showing? Were they the current owners? I know Disney owned them until 2002.
The lady in the red blazer was Gene Autry's wife, which was the original owner. Disney came in to help with the ownership around '99 but she was still around the club regularly.
What a game, Go Angels!
8:57 "We'll see you tomorrow night!"
THANK YOU!!!!
2002 Angels are one of my favorite teams
2016 NLDS Cubs vs Giants gm 3
Barry Bonds was a beast. The better team won.
Just the right amount of Joe Buck in these highlights
That game had to hurt for years and years
I still have my thundersticks from Game 7 when the sticks are out, Anaheim Stadium is the loudest stadium in the league
Great vid
Hell of a game
Is it just me that sees he said game 2 in the beginning of the video?
Nope. I noticed that as well.
Whoops lol
@Blue Skeptic YES! same starting pitchers too, both teams came out swinging, and Mr. Angel, King fish hits the dramatic comeback hr in the 8th. Amazing battle! Hell this whole series was exciting start to finish
Pain.
The biggest baseball rivalry in California
Bonds was so fun to watch
DUSTY BAKER! So happy for him
I was 10 years old when I saw that World Series. I cried like a bitch when they lost. I couldn’t fuckin believe it. Sucked for Barry. Good thing lincecum came along and got everything going again.
Watching Bonds field in this game is like watching a drunken gazelle trying to run
Ortiz pitched a gem this game
Why did Baker take him out then?
@@mayhemjr.803 Because Dusty was stupid and overmanaged. Dusty had no real reason to take Ortiz out and if he was going to he should have let him at least finish the inning. If my pitcher was throwing zero after zero with a multiple run lead in a closeout game of the World Series, I wouldn't even think of taking him out.
@@jameskreisler6083 Believe me..I was screaming at my TV screen " NOOOOOOOO!!!!"... Right then and there i just knew we had blown it. It still burns me up to this day.
Man Troy Glaus had such a pretty swing
1) You could change the series from forgettable to underrated classics.
2) How about 2008 World Series Gm 3?
Kenneth Cline GO PHILS!!!!!!!!!!
And don't forget the Angels were also a wildcard team that year.
So were the Giants
