Wranglerstar we are called to be meek, not weak. Men forget that meekness is considering others before ourselves, to consider others better than ourselves. This is prevent cocky, selfish attitudes that put others down. I'm quiet, I listen and observe but I'm decisive and protective.

Tolkien was a devout Catholic, and often included Christian allegory in his writings as well, perhaps not as comprehensively as Lewis however.

As a devout Catholic Christian man for my whole life from a very devout family and even my older brother who is a priest, I do completely agree with wat ur saying, we too often water down the stories of Jesus and wat he did to save our lives. In this song called “Man Up” by Da’ T.R.U.T.H. He says “Christ was not a hippy picking Lilly’s with his friends, Jesus was a mans man, so men followed him”. As man we are to put on the armor of God, fight for our women and our faith, defend and go to war against the devil. Gone are the times of the Luke warm, gently Christians, we are losing the fight and need to man up and go and fight this spiritual war!

"The meek shall inherit the earth." During an interview with Jordan Peterson he mentioned that the word 'meek' did not mean 'weak' when the verse was written. According to him the word 'meek' actually referred to the idea of someone who knew how to use a sword but kept it sheathed. In my own search I found that the word 'meek' is from Greek and similarly refers to the idea of strength brought under control. Put another way the word 'meek' in that verse means to have the capacity for power but to keep it under control. Paraphrasing dr. Jordan Peterson 'Being weak doesn't make you virtuous.'

I’m 63, but have only been a Christian for 22 years. In that time I have experienced some weak and controlling churches as well as some truly amazing ones. Don’t like where you are? Christ sets the example- shake the dust off your feet and move on. It took me a while to find it, but for the last 7 years, I have loved where I am and love what we are able to do as a body. We are truly much stronger and more effective than we would be as isolated individuals.

WOW I was not expecting this !!!! Great message, I’ve been saved 16 years , 3 different churches, visited countless others. Most of the pastors are of the attitude “ it’s my way or the highway “ there is no grey area, total authoritarians. There is a time and place a new Christian needs this , however we “grow up “ , some pastors see this as losing control of you , and you’re questioning their authority and ease you right out the door. Keep up the good work!!!

It is something to think about when Paul asked to be prayed for to be more bold in his proclamation of the Gospel. I think the answer is for each one of us to be in God's Word for ourselves to see what God Himself has to say. God has recently led us on a journey to see... If all we had was the Bible / the Word of God, would we come up with the modern American church that we see today? He led us to do a series of videos on this subject that we are actually going out to film the last video in this series tomorrow. I do think that God is leading us back to the church that He started... the church that He died for.

You make good points, brother. Unfortunately, too many men today will judge masculinity solely by the size of their biceps, or who can spit the farthest, or climb the highest mountain, or maybe who can eat the hottest chili. And then they will ridicule those who don't measure up to their set of standards. With all the power of the universe at His disposal, Christ never advanced Himself or His message by beating up on or belittling others. He didn't argue with the temple teachers; He reasoned with them. In fact, when the end was near, He didn't even speak in His own defense. Sometimes masculinity is standing on one's principles and meekly taking the unavoidable lumps, as a lamb before its shearers is dumb. I pray that the balance I strike between meekness and machismo will be led by the Holy Spirit. And I am glad that my fitness for Heaven will not be judged against any manmade standard. God be with you and your family. I hope to meet you one day in Eternity.

Such heavenly powers only accompany Christianity and only possessed by Christ's most powerfully anointed vessels, who establish the reality of Christ's Kingdom in our generation! Today these manifest powers of the Holy Spirit are actively accompanying Christ's chosen and anointed vessels as Rod Parsley's Ministry of Columbus, Ohio and others whom the Lord has raised up establishes the unalterable and undeniable reality of Christ's deity and Christ's Kingdom, as no other religion or ideology known to man!

Peter brings his work as an international journalist to bear as he documents firsthand accounts of atheistic societies, specifically in Communist Russia, where he lived in Moscow during the collapse of the Soviet Union. He shows that the world’s bloodiest century, the 20th, entailed nothing short of atheism’s own version of the Crusades and the Inquisition. The path to a secular utopia, pursued by numerous modern tyrants, is truly paved with more violence than has been witnessed in any era in history. Hitchens provides hope for all believers whose friends or family members have left Christianity or who are enchanted by the arguments of the anti-religious intellects of our age. See like it’s just frustrating that in 2019 people still follow religion, if everyone who’s putting all their energy into a faux god, who does nothing but encourage divisiveness and ignorance, put their energy into sciences and technologies to help further the human race, we would have a healthy, happy, and productive planet. But instead of maybe picking up trash on Sunday mornings or volunteering we’ll just go sit in pews in our nice clothing to hear about how the sky wizard who made us is SO GREAT.

Jesus did not come against the Roman authorities. Jesus say be wrathful but do not sin. There in the temple. The Jews were making the house of God a house of thieves. Cracking the whip were to chase the livestock out. Jesus were wrathful perhaps but he did no physical harm to anyone. I think the Jews got the point.

Take heart my brother in knowing not all churches are full of weak men. I have made that observation myself as well. Many of the Church’s I attended growing up as a child were run by women and men took the back seat, which goes contrary to what is taught in scripture. Women do have a place in the body of Christ but it is not in the position of pastor, elder, or deacon as is laid out in the book of Timothy. As I became an adult and was able to attend church on my own I was blessed to find a good bible believing church in my town. They preach and teach the scripture and do their very best to not add or take away from it. The scripture teaches their are times to be meek and humble but also times to stand firm, but we must do it in the same manner in which Christ did, He is the only perfect example. It is okay for us to be angry or mad, as long as it is for the proper reason, out of love and reverence for God and His holy word. So do not loose heart my brothers their are still men out there who are not weak and if you are a man, or woman, who has a burden or conviction on your heart please stand firm and act according the examples laid out in Gods perfect word.

  • @sisterkerry

The quote by Saint Francis of Assis that you ended with is one of my favourites: "Preach the Gospel everywhere you go, using words if necessary". Most of the Saints weren't short on tooth and claw.
It is my vocation to defend the Faith online and I have been doing so for over ten years. Most people are filled with hatred and aggression towards Christianity. I do not flinch. I defend the Faith clearly using fact and reason. I am called all the names under the sun. I was a bit upset at first, then I realised that people have given their lives to defend this Faith and I am going to cry because I'm called a few names?
When we learn Scripture formally, we are taught that the Gospels must be read with balance. The tougher parts are mitigated by the gentler parts'; the gentler parts mitigated by the tougher parts. Two things my particular Church lacks is the ability to convey proper teaching and courage. There is a problem. The things the PC/leftist/WOKE ideology demands everyone accepts about a certain "religion of peace" is a complete lie from start to finish. This lie comes at the expense of Christian history. I do not apologise. I do not try to appease. I tell the truth and I support it with scholarship.
I have the same problem as a Christian man who rightly wants to be both a Christian and a man - with a twist. I am a Nun. Should that mean I float around being all gooey? Should I be as I am? One tough mother for Christ?
The accusation angry atheists make most often (when they've run out of available cuss words) is that I'm "not behaving like a proper Christian". I conclude that _we must not fall into the trap of being defined by those who hate us_ . They will hate and accuse (we all know who the chief Accuser is, don't we?) no matter what we do. It is easy to slip into trying to "act like a Christian". That is the kiss of death for true living breathing faith.
I want those people who are busy putting up pious memes, but shirk from the messy business of truth telling, to gather up some courage. A real Christian is not silent when truth must be told; doesn't shirk from being a full man; doesn't shrink in fear, creating that "atmosphere of tedium" that is so off-putting to people.
He or she must take courage in both hands and, as was rightly said in this video, goes out "with the best of intentions" and lives out the Gospel - including the tougher parts.

Jesus didn't say follow Christians, he said follow me..

    • @sisterkerry
      @sisterkerry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@jackson8631 It is important that we differentiate between God and Christians. Many people leave their churches because of the behaviour of the people there. It is vital for the faith of these people to make the point that if they leave the church because of people, the object of their worship has been people, not God.
Unfortunately, we all have the capacity to fall short of our ideals. This is a factor of our human condition. We must aim to be perfect, but that is an active, ongoing process. We do not suddenly become perfect and that is that. If we have been given the True Faith then we have an advantage we must be grateful for. If we know the goal and the guidance is provided to get there, we are much more likely to reach near to that goal.
Despite your statement being true, it also contains the possibility of error. Firstly, we worship God. We follow Jesus, but in order to do so correctly, we must respect the wisdom of the Church. Jesus in The Book of Matthew founded his Church with his head Apostle, Peter to be it's leader on earth. We see in The Book of Acts that Peter does this.
Jesus, the Christ, wants a Church. He wouldn't have founded one if he didn't. It is like the Ark that Noah was commanded by God to build. He wanted His people and the animals to shelter inside the Ark as the waters cleansed the earth of evil.
When Moses was given God's Holy Commandments they were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant and around this Ark, God's words were developed into a central focus for the religion.
We have a "Christian" (you will realise the name was not used at first, but it was Christian in spirit so I use the word for clarity) Church from the beginning. One factor that is vital is the writings of the Church Fathers. We can see by modern behaviour that wicked people can use Christ for their own gain and to manipulate others. The early days were not different. The Church Fathers wrote against heresies in order to keep Christ's teaching pure.
It is vital to understand that the early Church Fathers were contemporaneous with the Apostles _those men and women who knew and had walked on earth with Jesus of Nazareth_ . Three Church Fathers were exceptionally important. Clement, Ignatius and Polycarp. The latter was a disciple of the Apostle, John. Clement went on to become the 2nd or 3rd Pope, after St Peter. We know this, in part, because we have a verified letter written by him that proves within 20-30 years after the deaths of Peter and Paul there was an active papacy. The Book of Acts interlinks with this as the Church immediately began organising a Church structure.
Ignatius is the first person to use the word "Catholic" in writing. The word was used to mean the aggregate of genuine Christian churches. Those church communities that were teaching the authentic words and works of Jesus of Nazareth.
Just as God commanded Noah build an Ark, God commanded Moses place His words in an Ark, Jesus commanded St Peter found a Church. To be followed in truth, she was to be Catholic. Universal communities all who teach the authentic truth of Jesus Christ.
The Catholic Christian Church created and built Western civilisation after the fall of Rome in the 5th century. The most successful civilisation that has ever existed. However, humankind has to evolve. The Church has had to take the Light of Christ across many turbulent centuries. Jesus had an Ark in the Catholic Christian Church. In that Ark, the Holy Scriptures and all the words and works of Christ were brought through safely.
Without the Church, Jesus' truth would not have made it through.
We must follow Jesus, but to follow him according to his teaching, rather than our own whims projected on to him, we must understand and get to know him through the people who did actually know him. It is tougher this way, but the tough path is the one that leads to truth.

One's decision to attend a church is so often based on the people in the church the visit. Christianity is not about who's at "your church" - it's about your personal walk with God and growing on a consistent basis. Growing stronger, not weaker.
Pointing fingers at "those people" does nothing for you but keep you as a wandering person searching for who God is.
Wanting a strong church? Go and be the strong one! Be the one who speaks out against the very things you don't want to be a part of.
God uses those who do this very thing and brings others to the view that a Christian is not a weakling but rather just the opposite. One who is strong in their views, one who speaks out boldly for what God shows the be the infallible, absolute truth of what we all are looking for.
Does God not say to go boldly and proclaim the truth?
Grow your own spine! Go boldly with the truth God has given you!

Wow you totally lost me there. The church I grew up in had loggers for elders and most of the men were hard working men working in rough areas like logging or truck repair. My own grandfather was a logger in the mount hood / Hood River area. He was an elder for years there. (There is another story there.) I never ever had the impression you describe. If you read the good book it is pretty obvious he was very bold and didn't follow any preconceived ideas of the time. On top of all that he recruited some of the roughest men (fishermen) of the time to be his disciples. No room for timidity at all. Granted most of the men I grew with and looked up to in the church were older and many are no longer with us. You would have liked my grandfather. Logger, teacher, ww2 veteran. A no nonsense man that could tell great stories of the past. Some including mistakes or trouble he got into as a kid.
I get the problem with organized denominations because too often they try to be all things to all people and they slip up and fall into the trap of electing based on popularity or other qualities they may not be the best. But you must keep in mind that any organization is going to be full of the wheat and the tares. Keep in mind when that will be sorted. For us it is a time of testing our mettle for patience and or tactfulness. Like ignoring a weak handshake but speaking up on important matters. The most important thing is to be a strong example.
You can worship anywhere. In someones home? Forget that I'd rather be outside, and often have been. lol

The women were all these simpering Stepford Wives with 1984 floral skirts below the knee and grumpy jumpers..and the men, even at 20 odd years old..were boring old farts whose main interest was golf or chess. About as sexy as a brick and about the same level of company..No..in fact worse. I didn't fit in because I like going out, wearing fitted jeans and listen to evil evil rock music. Agreed with all of it. The path my mind was wandering down was that the Jesus of the Bible is so far from what many think. He was very outspoken, very gregarious, dare I say a partier. Not a drunk, but He had (as a man) a sense of humor and liked to see people happy and enjoying themselves. WE are the church. WE are the Body. I do believe in a local church, I do believe in corporate worship and mutual edification. I don't like most people in my church on a friendship level. I disagree with some of what the church does. So what? They are as much a part of the Body as I am or any of you. I think the answer is perspective. I think American Christians try to turn the local church into more than what it should be. The church isn't the door to God, Christ is. Salvation is a PERSONAL relationship between you and Christ facilitated by the Holy Spirit. The church is just to feed you and give you the chance to feed others. It is not a substitute for your relationship with Christ.
