Hi there,
Thank you so much got putting together this guide.
I'd been seeing multiple guides and some professional came over my basement to see what'd be the best way for damproofing it.
My question is, is it required any specific certification in order to damproofing (without channels and pump) and space with a membrane in order to comply with building regulations or us this something anybody could potentially do and still meet the building regulations?

Hi Juan, anyone can do the work but to get building regulation approval you have to do the work as they say. There are different criteria depending on its use.

Any idea if it's possible to have a cellar conversion when the cellar has a outdoor grate (on the front of the house on public footpath) that used to be used for coal chute? It's a mid-terrace house

Hi thanks for watching, yes of course you can, there are lots of jobs in London iv seen where the basement goes out under the pavement above, or a vaulted ceiling below the pavement, you just need to make sure you use the correct system and contractor to do it. Good Luck with the project.

If they replaced all the floor joists they should have raised the floor 6 to 8 inches to give you more ceiling height in the basement
