    This is straight from Amsoil legal department from my email asking about this Dexos D stuff: Number one the product does not have to be certified to meets the requirements. Number two all a certification is a company paying a lot of money to be on a list. Number three they cannot void warranty for using a non-certified product they have to prove that the product caused the failure.Just some good info and do with what you want with it👍

      While that all sounds great coming from the company that does NOT have the certification, GM in this example could do whatever they want and who do you think would pay for lawyer fees if they call the non certified oil into question ... certainly would NOT be Amsoil. Put another way, the potential Amsoil customer uses the product at their own peril, however once the warranty is past then at that point it doesn't matter what the vehicle owner uses since there is no coverage regardless. Another example is some who choose to modify their vehicle to a point where their warranty is void ( a diesel emissions delete for example ) but they are aware of the consequences and are willing to take that risk.

      @@charlesb4267 I ran your email by Amsoil legal team and you are wrong Amsoil would back you 100%. Also they said GMC would never have a chance in blaming their oil cause it’s better than GMC and that’s in testing. So in other words you are worried about nothing 👍

    Take them to court the moment they receive that that notice they will settle within the week. Its not a case of will you win or will they win. Its a case of going to court will be more expensive then just replacing what needs to be replaced.

    Great timing, its time for my oil change, and was going to try the Amsoil for the first time on my D-3.0, but as you mentioned they are not "Dex" certified, and based on the ambiguous email that GM sent you its gray enough for them to have a wide discretion on denying a claim because of the wrong oil .... why give them any opportunity to deny a claim, just not worth the risk.... change your oil every 3-5k with a Dex brand and your good.... thanks for posting...

      @@donmckenzie5027 What Amsoil should do is offer to pay all legal fees if a manufacturer denies warranty coverage or just offer to pay repair fees if warranty is denied. Everyone always points to Magnuson-Moss act but that requires you paying all the legal fees and taking it to court. Meanwhile you won't have a vehicle the entire time you're fighting it.

    @jetfixer3207 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    That license GM refers to must be PAID for, and Amsoil won't do it. Thats why they're not on the list. Further, if by some wild chance, you had an oil related failure, do you really think the dealer would send off your oil for analysis? As long as the crankcase wasn't dry, the burden of proof is on them to say you did something wrong, which they couldn't do. Amsoil says their oil exceeds the Dexos requirement. They're certainly not gonna lie about it. If it didn't meet or exceed the requirement, they simply wouldn't offer it. Like right now they don't have a compatible oil for my '24 BMW X5, so they don't offer anything at all. When my '25 Yukon AT4 diesel arrives this winter, I'll happily run Amsoil.

Very interesting about the 5W-30 Rotella as its iron wear is way down from all the other oils.
