  • Welcome to part 2 of the TRX4M maintenance series! In this video we will be getting into the transmission, and rear axle as well as putting the truck back together.
    These videos are mostly intended for people who are new to RC, or need a little help wrenching on their TRX4M. If you have any suggestions please use the comments section! We can all learn a thing or two and most of us have some tips and tricks up our sleeve!

    I was always told you're not supposed to grease plastic gears_I did however use a dry lube on all the bushings.

      Yeah some lubricants can make plastic gears brittle and ultimately less durable. There are some that are ok on plastic though. Maybe I’ll do some research and make a little video on grease haha. How does the dry lube work on those bushings?

      I have to two,one with bearing and lots of brass. Obviously the bearings are better at reducing friction but they don't play well in wet and muddy conditions. I used WD-40 specialist plastic safe dry lube on all the bushings. Making sure the diff covers aren't to tight also made a difference.

      Yeah I agree, bearings definitely require a little more maintenance after you get them wet. This is even more important on a truck with portal axles and metal gears. I’ve gotten into a routine of tearing my trucks down after playing in water which sometimes makes me rethink hitting the mud pit at all. It’s convenient to not have to worry too much with a bushing equipped TRX4M.
