This series is getting intense! RIP loyal cleric. I'm really glad you break down each section of play, it makes it way easier to follow along for someone like me who hasn't played chainmail or od&d.
RIP Baric, the Cleric! I personally use the AD&D DM's guide to make dungeons when solo playing, you end up rolling every few feet to see what's there! The only downside is that it never really ends.... So you could just roll it until you found 3 sets of stairs going down, or until you've reach your goal.
I am finding my own personal sweet spot with dungeon generation and find that same problem. I would love a video of possible solutions/ideas in generating a dungeon climax.
Wow! Combat in this version is absolutely deadly!! Even with over half the spiders effectively dead and 3 people immune to damage the cleric died. In the beginning I felt like it might be too easy, one spell can potentially "kill" every single creature on a good roll and the enemy can't target the un-armored back-line. But needing two consecutive hits on ONE turn coupled with the abysmal chances to hit more than makes up for it. With just some basic math if your two best fighters attack the same target you STILL have below 50% chance of killing a spider (1/2 * 1/3 = 1/6 or about 17% chance). Absolutely brutal. My character in Pathfinder 2e recently got killed by a similar creature, on one turn he knocked him unconscious, dragged him away, and the turn after left the playing field. Suffice it to say this episode triggered my "ptsd" haha.
Yeah it can be brutal, I’ve gotten better as a plate with strategy and using bf missile weapons. But it took a while, if you stick around prepare for much PC death 😂
The battle with the spiders seemed like a real grind. What a time to lose the cleric, right before an undead crawl. I printed out eh Deck of Many Dungeons. Great tool.
Really enjoying this series. Keep it up! It would be great if you used dice with more contrast and were easier for viewers to read the numbers. I really like that deck of many dungeons. I'll have to look into that. Thanks again!
Great session. The movement really gets emphasized when a character drops! RIP loyal cleric! I'm looking forward to the dungeon crawl. Also, what was that what was that supplement you made called? I would love to recreate this solo session. I love the board game procedure element, while still having plenty of room for role-playing.
Sure, any combat you enjoy works. Keep in mind that every hit is a kill, so missing in this system is like a hit in regular d20, when you figure you hit every 2-3 times, with less tracking. Of course good or bad dice can really swing this type of combat as well.
If the treasure type was equivalent to a Dwarven lair, one could infer that it was say a dwarven ruin which were cursed/infested/occupied and the treasure was lost in the ruins or a reward for clearing it out. Surveyors/scouts are not responsible for undiscovered/non-existent treasures at locations or any lives lost while attempting to acquire said treasure.

I use that system as well, but I don’t think it will translate well to an actual play. We shall see!

Glad to see more videos of this solo play. Keep em coming!
Thanks! Will do!
Loving this series. Can't wait to see where it goes
Thanks! I’m having a blast with this campaign.
Thanks for the exposition! By the way, I really like that circular battle mat
Glad you liked it!
Agreed, Daniel where did you get it???

ULTIMATE DUNGEON TERRAIN
I can’t here you! 👂 😉
UDT! FTW!
Nooo the cleric! I was hoping that the spider would get less movement while carrying the poor guy...
Perhaps they should have! I’ll use that ruling next time
I hit the thumbs up on these videos before i even watch them because i know theyre going to be good! Thank you for posting!!
Thank You!

Getting caught up on your back log solo campaign! This is very fantastic to watch, learning a lot from this. Nicely done
Thank You!
Love this series, can’t wait to enter the dungeon!
Thank You!

Yeah, probably best to avoid combat in the wild. Live and learn!

Thanks, I think the duck dice are my more easily readable currently.

I’ll be re-releasing it soon, but I t’s called “Unchained Fantasy”
great video!, thx!
i like the multimillionarie giant spiders
Thanks!
Very fun!
Thanks!
Interesting combat. I think ill probably use more modern rules for combat when i try this out. All those misses were frustrating!

Any ideas where to buy that Deck of Many Dungeons deck? I didn't find it in my initial google-searches... Really enjoying this btw!
I believe I have a link in the description to the physical deck - the PDF can also be had on Drive thru RPG
I think they weren't surprised because all of the webs around them in the trees
Maybe!
thanks!
😊
Where did you get that sick looking Últimate Dungeon Terrain?
Etsy - there is a link in the description, or just search “ultimate dungeon Terrain” and you’ll find a few sellers.
Great stuff, looking forward to the dungeon delve. How different is your hack to the original chainmail?
The charts are similar, the overall mechanics needed to be different to truly fit with levels and magic in OD&D
What's was the dungeon deck?
Deck of many dungeons

Very true
One could argue that the spider would be encumbered when carrying a heavily armored man. I might have lowered its speed to 9" at least.
True, but insects are so much stronger than people as I understand them
@@BanditsKeepActualPlay Playing the Spiderman "proportional strength of a spider" card. That's fair.
