Except I think he’s quite wrong. Iran doesn’t need Hezbolla for its own defense, that’s just silly. Iran has a huge stockpile of its own missiles and its backing of Hezbolla is specifically aimed at power projection out of Lebanon and Syria.
No, we have a real differences. It is not just leaders to recognize their struggle in the region is real for both sides and then maybe they can solve the problems. It is insult to everyone to say otherwise.
Reminds me of when Israel attacked uss Liberty.....
According to Iyad El-Baghdadi, Iran has to maintain credibility. If Iran abandons Hamas all of it's other proxies will notice and make greater demands of Tehran in future.
👏 excellent observation
While true, remember Hamas is a Sunni terrorist organization and not Shia like Hezbollah. Iran and Hamas share similarities only on their policies against Israel. Iran has an interest in helping them because Hamas are actively trying to defeat Israel. Out of all proxies Iran has, Hamas is the one who they can afford losing.
This Report shows Iranian and Syrian forces entering the war through Syria. At this point I turned it off.
1. Iran has very little logistical or force projection capabilities to support such a move.
2. The US military occupies the route through which they would have to move.... good luck getting through THAT!
3. Iranian conventional forces would be stretched over a large area of open desert, and could be annihilated by air strikes, especially if the US joined the war.
4. Syria is in the middle of a civil war. They have little to no means of attacking Israel. If they did, they would have responded to the almost constant Israeli bombing strikes on their territory.
5. Good luck attacking the Golan heights from the north!

Most comprehensive and unbiased news I've seen in so long, extremely refreshing, bless you. I feel much more confident in my knowledge of the situation.
Very well done. I've recommended this to a friend who's a foreign policy security analyst for the government, and he raves about your analysis and relative objectivity.
If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is.
With all the corporate and government influenced news these days, the objective truth is like a glass of spring water amidst a sea of cold coffee and flat cola. Well done brother.
You kind of undercut the endorsement of this content by your friend since he’s an advisor to the government and in your third paragraph you point out that government influence on what we’re told makes it unreliable. Though this video does indeed seem to be pretty neutral, I would certainly agree that any information associated with or endorsed by government or its people is never to be trusted. Nowhere is this more true than with the governments of the U.S. and Israel when it comes to what’s going on over there. I have found, on the other hand, that many scholars, journalists and regular citizens who grew up in Israel, with all the brainwashing that entails, but who have seen through the lies, are an excellent source of information. Top of this list, for me, would be Ilan Pappe, Miko Peled, and Amira Haas. These are people who had every reason to be unreservedly pro-Israel throughout their lives, but have instead cut through the BS and decided to share what they’ve learned with the world. And irans proxies Struck US bases just after that. They Struck us bases 16 times after the hamas operation
Right
They have done it before. The difference this time is that the strikes are getting a lot of attention from the media.
@@User-jr7vf these strikes are way more than normal
I would like to see this issue discussed in the context of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict because so many of the regional powers with a stake in that war also have a stake in the conflict in Israel. As I see it, the greatest regional danger is a convergence of unrelated regional crises setting off a broader conflict. It is easy to see how this can spread like a wildfire. Let's all hope it doesn't.
Caspian report is Azerbaijani so I think he doesn’t want to touch on this issue due to certain biases. Which is understandable and extremely admirable. If he did he’d probably become more of a propagandist rather than a legitimate geopolitical analysis and I’m sure he is fully aware of that. He seems extremely intelligent and honourable.
In a sense this war is by extension connected to the Armenian Azerbaijani conflict. There’s a reason why Azerbaijan and Turkey buy weapons from Israel and there’s a reason why they both have the same tactics when it comes to their minorities. It’s interesting as well because Israel right now is doing the exact same thing that Azerbaijan-did to Armenia. Israel never used to block aid or internet to Gaza before, but I think the Azeri government doing it to the Armenians for 9 months kinda inspired them too.
I’m not denying that Armenia did some bad things too they definitely did. But similar to Hamas if you deny someone’s independence and self determination which is a human right expect retaliation. Resistance against subjugation and genocide isn’t terrorism similar to Palestine you know.
In the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict the US, the UK, and Frace have zero interest in it. As for Israel, the case is totally different.
@@User-jr7vf Armenia has long wanted to join nato and establish itself into the western sphere. But Armenia unlike Greece didn’t exist when nato was formed. Armenia was still subjugated under Soviet rule. When they gained independence from the Soviets. They very much favoured the west, they developed a democracy and implemented a constitution.
However the west already allowed Turkey in, who would of fought tooth and nail to keep Armenia out. They are fighting now to keep Sweden out. Imagine Armenia tried to join. So Armenia to survive had to ally with Russia there previous overlords to ensure there survival even tho they were a democracy and had very western values.
It’s kinda bit the west in the as* though because, now Turkey is very much aligning itself with Russia and people are realising the amount of problems Turkey has caused. I mean it doesn’t magically happen that every nation that borders you doesn’t like you. Both Muslim and Christian and both in nato or not, don’t like Turkey.

While it's tough for Israel and Palestine, Iran is really playing a game of chess with Saudi Arabia and the US. I doubt there'll be direct confrontation with Iran as that would mean the biggest conflict since WW2.
These are muslims, deathwishers with nothing to lose. They ain't resting til they dead or continue getting whatever they want
I don't think Iran has to worry about Saudi Arabia here... if the Saudi's backed the US that would mean backing Israel, in the midst of this crisis, against other Muslims. Their people would revolt. Their options are neutrality OR intervening against Israel to some extent as well in an effort to prevent Iran from claiming the de-facto title of "defender of the Islamic world" for itself
Biggest conflict since WW2 only until China finally does make a move on Taiwan & Philippines.

Please keep up the good work.
A lot of it available in mainstream media, academia and other open sources around the world. Sorting through and compiling it all s the daunting task.
Like it's not too little information, but a torrential flood of information from the various actors.
We dont see this in ANY media, not just 'western' media. You dont see this sort of detail in indian news for example
I, unlike you, actually read western media, and what they write is basically the same as what Shirvan says. Of course they cant go as much into detail as him since they need to keep their news articles somewhat short. We in the west have independent media houses that can concentrate on only bringing news without any intervention by anyone, just like this TH-cam channel.
@@abraham2172 It's not a lack of information, but a torrent of information. Like a stream of snippets and smaller stories that gets hard to navigate.
The underreported part right now is the West Bank. There was no attack from there but the settler movement seems intent on stirring up trouble and really showing why Israel needs a two-front war. The IDF is arresting Hamas members, sympathizers and associates. There's growing demonstrations among the palestinians on the West Bank.
@@abraham2172 Could you just F off with the 'independent' part? Western media may be independent when it comes to internal affairs, but when it comes to foreign matters, they are NOT always independent. Ever since my country was subjected to orchestrated smear campaign (filled with fake news and deliberate half-truths) by the American and European media, I realized what a BS Western media is. By the way, in the West you don't have full freedom of speech either; you can only say what is allowed to be said. Shirvan is on another level.
Very impressed by how objective this is. Well done.
Once gain, amazing analysis
The video ends with common sense remarks, well I don't believe any common sense is left in the region given the sheer atrocities being committed
Common sense has always been relative. What's common to you or I is different to what's common for someone in israel or gaza.
Just my thoughts.
Winner takes all in the region. We're playing for keeps now.
@@akitt2Nope common sense is always universal.

This was an incredibly high quality video 👏
At this point, it's frankly embarrassing for a geopolitical channel to assume the Iranian president has any authority. The Iranian president is a caretaker. Everything is at the hand of the supreme leader Khamenei. The president being hardline only means that the orders of Khamenei are carried more quickly and thoroughly.
Eh, it's well understood that "iranian president" is just a shorthand for "iranian religious & cultural leader"; it doesn't change the video that much and it's easy to just mentally substitute those two terms.
You don't think saying *Gaza* is trying to start WWIII was the dumbest part?
@@ElijsDima It doesn't change the video but it does contribute to the dangerous narrative that the Islamic republic in my country is a normal-ish regime in which the politics actually change because a radical is president and would become normal once a reformist or a moderate is in power. While in reality it's a fanatic Isalmo-fascist regime whose leaders think they can bring the end of times and the rise of the messiah through their policies. It's also a point often pushed in the west by groups who knowingly or unknowingly have become lobbyists for the IR among the academia and journalists.
@@joekickarze I don't recall at any part of the video he said "WWIII" or like mentions of Russia and China joining this. All the talks was about a regional war which given the explanation in the video, are plausible.
@@Ali-bu6lo I understood that the parliament and by extension the government is fairly neutered. There are elections, but candidates must be vetted by the guardian council who forms a sort of... I think theocratic supreme court.
The revolutionary guard corps is a strange thing. From what I understand, they have a fairly broad mandate to preserve the revolution. With a lot of autonomy in how they do this, including from several theocrats. They are separate from many other iranian state instruments.
If the theocrats were removed completely for some reason, the revolutionary guard would be a functional miltary government with a legitimacy problem.
How real this episode is going to be is very disturbing.
From far east to far west, from professional journalist to think tanks, government offices, UNO and experts and pundits I have not till now found any voice showing us the full unbiased disonative-cognizance-free potential trajectory that this conflict is unwittingly heading into.

Awsome work 👏. Very insightful and unbiased.
Thanks for actually laying out the facts of the current military situation

Western people that keep saying that Hamas is Iran's ally are really ignorant of the diverse geopolitical landscape in the middle-east
Hamas may share with Iran a common enemy, but they're not allies, as a matter of fact Hamas and Hezbollah went face to face in the Syrian Civil War, in which Hamas, as well as other Sunni militia groups backed mostly by the Turkey-Qatar alliance faced Shia militia groups, backed mainly by Iran and Russia.
Please next time learn more about the middle east before delivering wrong biased information to people.
Great, well researched video, as always. I appreciate how well you illustrated the risks of what a regional conflict could look like along with the consequences for all parties involved. I fave a sense that this will get nasty, as the retoriric from all angles is far greater than what I saw during the past intifadas with public statements from all sides skewing to a genocidal nature. This is decades of anger, pain, and tension that has built into a powdercage where nether side of the conflict views the other as human and the governments and non-state actors on all sides do not seem to see the existence of civilians based on their statements. This conflict should expand, as you've shown, will likely devolve into the concept of total warfare with multiple instances of war crimes on display. The Israeli government seems hell-bent on destroying Hamas and willing to stake the survival of the state itself to achieve that goal. It will, as you concluded, truly be up to Iran on whether we see this worst-case scenario play out.
One actor I'm missing in this part is Fatah. The Fatah faction under Abbas still rules the territorial authority on the West Bank.
Brilliant, as usual. Thank you for bringing some light into these times of brainless hatred.

Saw a video of a little girl no more than 8 years old blinded by a bomb being treated in hospital and even though most of the comments were praying for her a lot of comments were talking about how Israel is going to build beach front and telling people to secure there property in Gaza now while laughing at the little girl. How can any human laugh at the pain and misery of a child whether they are Jewish Muslim Christian etc at the end of the day that’s a kid. Also been seeing mock ups from some Israeli pages of community sketched and malls they plan on building in Gaza calling it “Israel’s newest travel destination “ which is absolutely sickening
few minutes watching the video : yup this report isn't neutral.
If there was ever a place where I think a nuclear strike WOULDN’T trigger a global nuclear war, I think it’d be in the Middle-East. The U.S, China, Russia, Europe don’t care enough for that region to destroy themselves in a M.A.D scenario, and would collectively agree to not do anything about it. And if a regional war ever triggers, that became an existential threat to Israel, I don’t doubt they would strike the invading countries if they couldn’t win the war otherwise.
Wrong.
They wouldn't dare.
They wouldn't survive after this.
Pakistan said that it would gladly give to any Muslim nation a stock of its nuclear arsenal if they feel threatened by a nuclear warhead.
Therefore, china and russia will care whether they like it or not.
Iran is not an isolated country.
It has countries, autonomous regions filled with the same ethnicity in the Middle East and central Asia.
Therefore, if israel dares to drop one of them, it'll undoubtedly spread across the world.
Usa and Israel barks about using them, but they wouldn't dare.
They said the same thing before taking Baghdad that they might use them, but in the end, they didn't.
Will Israel use them if faced with extinction?
Whether they use them or not, the end result will be the same for them.
The zionist project will eventually end.
the war started when israel settled there, gaza has been always there
Regardless of History, the Israeli nation is here now and its people have no other place to go. Shouldn't we advocate for a solution that respects the humanity of ALL involved instead of "choosing a side"?

Good to see a timeline of how all the different conflicts involved could escalate. Just one note: I'm thankful for your attempt to make geopolitics being interesting and spectacular, but 'Hezbollah is the one rocking the stage and stealing the show', feels a little too lighthearted and detached in my opinion.
One interesting way to look at it is that Iran already got what it wanted when Hamas attacked Israel and prevented any normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Therefore it doesn't really need to do much more, having already achieved its objectives.
That's right. Also a few people took notice of the message sent by the Iranian leadership to the Americans: we don't want to get involved in this, please don't attack us. I mean, a few days after the Hamas attack, the Iranian leader himself gave a speech in which he said Iran had nothing to do with it. Note that it is not the Iranian president coming forth and saying it. Instead the supreme leader "took the time" to do it himself. Why do you think he would do that? Of course, to send an important and strong message to the American leadership. He was basically asking the Americans not to attack them in retaliation for Hamas' attack on Israel.
Interesting video about Hamas and Hezbollah armies. But I noticed you failed to mention much about how the IDF has a $24B defense budget (15th largest in the world) vs $700m
how much of that is from the us?

Great analysis as always. I cant help but think of the massive humanitarian/refugee crisis that would arise from this situation if all goes south.
No need to imagine. There is a massive humanitarian/refugee crisis that has millions in refugee camps in Jordan, Syria, and any other country that has some of the suffering people from Israel's actions already.
Yes, that's the part that EU and it's citizens are missing. Millions of refugees will run into Europe. Syria was only one country back in 2015, the whole region has a much bigger population in case people wonder!
