Several years ago, I made my first visit to Japan. During part of my trip, I stayed with a friend who lived in Hamamatsu. One night, we went to Shizuoka for the Fukuroi Enshu fireworks festival. It was my first time attending a Japanese summer festival. I didn't even know anything about them. (These days I watch a lot of anime, so now I know how common they are.) My friend even lent me yukata so I could be dressed properly. I had okonomiyaki for the first time that night. It was really good! And the fireworks were so big and close! It's different from most fireworks displays in the US. It was also a very crowded event, and the trip home involved waiting in a long line to get on one of the trains, and the trains were packed to standing room capacity. I hadn't experienced anything like that before. So it was a night of all kinds of first-time memories, but the okonomiyaki was definitely one of my favorite parts.
The way she teaches manners is so adorable. Looks like she was teaching Sutan to bow and say thank you when someone offers food to you.

I would give it back twice maybe three times, after that i wouldnt do it anymore. The baby is doing with her mother whatever she wants xD
Our baby daughter did the same thing, and on one occasion the wife wised up and bent down and placed an invisible toy next to her. The next time she placed a different toy altogether. Confused the heck out of our daughter but was a cute and hilarious trick.

@@ShadowMoon878 Yeah it seems to be a standard part of baby development. From seats, cribs and playpens. You see her studying her mother in everything. This gets a reaction and interaction so it is a great way for her to play. Not so much for the adults on pick up duty. But then babies know the world revolves around them, haha.

The way she interacts with her daughter is always wonderful, and a perfect example of gentle parenting. The child learns good manners and respect because the parent is setting a good example in teaching her to do as she does rather than only as she says.

You gave me the good idea to chop the cabbage and bacon, and I also added ebi (minced) to add more flavor . I made this for my mother who is 89 years old. She loved it! Because I chopped the cabbage and meat, she was able to eat okonomiyaki even with no teeth. Also, she is from Osaka and she said I did a great job! Thank you so much for your videos.

One thing I really like okonomityaki compared to many other pancakes is that how healthy it is with a lot of vegetables. (Moe's recipe has 200 gram cabbages to 100 gram flour. I have seen as much as 5:1 ratio of cabbage-to-flour.)
Well comparing okonomiyaki to actual pancakes is kinda like comparing apples to oranges. They're not eaten in the same way and they have totally different flavor profiles.
