    As a natural red head and freckled skin person, even here in the US I have been teased and bullied a lot as a child. We are often the targets of bullies but most people don't realize it. Also it can be harder to find a date (not impossible, just harder) as a red head. This is a real problem throughout the USA and Europe.

      Bro I’m from the uk and I’m ginger and idk I got bullied hard in my younger years for sure and obviously I still get the odd comment now and again but i think that in like the 2010s it’s a lot more common I find it funny how the teachers would say man up but expell anyone who would dare insult someone for the colour of there skin but colour of there hair it’s fine the world makes no sense to me

    Funnily enough, outside the UK, there's a lot of teasing of red-haired people in Ireland too... but a lot of Latin American people (who we generally find utterly beautiful in that part of the world) often treat us like deities because of the 'exoticism' our hair represents... so I can live with it, lol.

      Yup being told your ugly because your ginger when your a child is extremely upsetting. To this day I’m still insecure about my appearance because of how I was treated by peers growing up. Doesn’t help that most of the celebrities who are celebrated for their red hair usually are not natural red heads, being young I didn’t see a lot of girls/women who looked like me on tv.

    It sucks because a lot of children are already going through problems at home, and when they come into school they are met with abuse because of their looks, so they dont really have anywhere safe. The worst part is no one really backs you up, it’s not taken seriously like racial or religious discrimination are.

      Sansa was easily hateable at first because she was awful. The character grew to be a powerful leader through overcoming adversity. Sophie Turner did a fantastic job the whole way along portraying the character. She was high on the list of an overall great cast.

    People confuse the character and the actor way too often, most recently with Wyatt Russell and the new captain america. Leave actors tf alone, their job isn't always to play a likeable character.

      Sometimes it is unavoidable. I first saw Bradley Cooper in Wedding Crashers and will forever know him as a giant @-hole. Even in Silver Linings Playbook where they gave him some good justification, he was still kinda awful. He will always be that guy to me.

      Depends on the sitch (and audience) I suppose. Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander on The Boys has (rightly) gotten a tremendous amount of acclaim for his brilliant portrayal of a truly monstrous character.

      Yes! Growing up, I never saw red heads in reality tv shows where people are considered attractive. I always heard “You’re not my type” “Why are you so pale, you should tan”. I even heard this rumor that red heads smelled bad so I made sure I smelled good all day. I even get compliments now from how put together and hygienic I am because of that 😂 Dating is weird, I get fetishized by some men who think I can fulfill their fantasies.. Like please, hair color doesn’t matter. If someone has a preference then that’s fine, but spare me all the “I wouldn’t not date a ginger ew”

      Most gingers in the UK are ugly - thin lips, thin eyebrows, face covered in freckles, roundish face and they either tend to be extremely thin, or overweight. The prettiest gingers are those that come from mix-hair parents I noticed - you have some absolutely stunning ginger girls but for each one of those, you have 20 ones you'd run away from.

    Ok but this topic should be talked about a lot more.. there’s literally no group of people who are more bullied for sth they can’t control than gingers. And the worst thing is that it is completely normalised. It is always “who gives a f bruh.. they’re gingers it’s not like they care”.     I feel like Conan didn’t laugh much at her small quips. “There’s something about Conan” “Stories about how I’m oppressed” “I’m gunna lie here like in therapy” “i wanted to fight him but it wasn’t kick a ginger day” I think it’s partly cus of her accent so it’s like an extra layer for him to decipher, or it’s the British whit where people make jokes and quickly move on (different cadence structure).
