I think your praise of Erica Stanford is going to come back to haunt you, Laura. I can see a compete disaster from her fiddling with the NZ Curriculum. For starters, a generation of readers will be turned off due to her demands for structured literacy to be the be all and end all and schools will not be starting the new year with the new maths resources because the publishers can not meet the end of January deadline. I've never seen education leaders so pissed off with a National led government in my thirty years in education.
