This is a good video overall, a great guide for doing the job of Changing the Fan Clutch ... However, there is absolutely no reason to remove the lower hose clamp or drain radiator! Not sure why you would do that? The fan shroud will go in and out with it in place and save you all the hassles of draining and refilling coolant.

I just wanted to add a little tip here. You DO NOT need to remove the lower radiator hose. You DO NOT have to drain your coolant. You only need to remove the upper radiator hose, and you'll only lose a little bit of coolant. Removing the lower radiator hose, and draining the coolant is wasteful, messy and unnecessary.

I had my fan clutch replaced at NTB "National Tire battery" - It makes a click noise now - they said to take it to a chevy dealership and get the pcm flashed - UGHHHHH - The local dealership said they would not do it. I can certainly do this fan clutch replacement job myself - My question is will your unit install without this noise happening. I have included a link to a you tube video that shows exactly what I am talking about - thanks

Thank you for the video. You spoke very clearly and all that you said went well with the various things that needed to be removed and replaced. It's given me the confidence to tackle the job on my ex-wife's Trailblazer. Thanks again!!!

I'd throw it away with the ex-wife too

This isn't the dumbest fan and shroud design I've seen, but it's a contender.

Great video. My AC is not working on parked car. Will replacing the clutch help? Does the clutch come with the electric switch? TIA

Does anyone have any idea why my fan slows down when the engine warms up? I've replaced the clutch and at running temperature the fan is only going around 200 rpm and the temp gauge will start creeping towards hot. I've done the fan clutch, the water pump and thermostat. I believe it has something to do with the fan because the engine only starts to get hot when I'm at a stop.

Issue here is the clamps that they used. Those are known to fail fast and are super unreliable. Always use the locking clamps no matter what.

Yes never use a Jubilee clamp on plastic radiator connections.

Why is this considered “electric “?
