He gave the transcription for the verse and chorus in Guitar World's Bass Guitar Magazine in their August/September 2004 issue, everything else i tried to improv around. i dont have a five string, the intro and other parts had to be supplemented. The verse and chorus are correct, he talks about the positioning "The interspersed low notes are played on open strings, carefully articulated to match the volume of the fretted notes, which are all played up high using the index finger and pinkie
he's playing it accurately. definitely not fair to say "not remotely close" and "completely wrong". you can give criticism and correct mistakes but there's no need to exaggerate on how wrong he is. It's pretty close to the way Stefan plays it anyway, he's just using different fingering. And a cover isn't intended to be played exactly how the original musician plays it.
