Thanks for the video, I just bought the 96b212 blue dial version brand new from a shop this week. It was originally a display model and comes with a 3 year guarantee! I knew it was special so snapped it up straight away, still has the tags on it. I was looking for more information about it. I was trying to stop buying any more watches but this seemed too good to be true. Cost me equivalent of 240 US dollars.
That was a great find! This is one of the watches I really regret selling. Enjoy it.
I'm really starting to like Bulova. Bang for buck and quartz movement got me hooked
Love the UHF movement for that ultra-smooth running second hand. I also like the design of the case which has a unique set of angles. The date window at the 6 o'clock position is (IMHO) one of the best locations for it on the face. I also like the crown at the 4 o'clock position for some added comfort on the wrist. Reasonable size.
This was such an interesting piece. I really wish Bulova would use this movement in more of their pieces.

A really nice looking watch. Love the smooth second hand. I have a Accutron dress watch. It is beautiful. Bulova makes high value watches. Perhaps that is why Citizen bought them.
They definitely make some amazing pieces. That smooth second hand catches the eye often.

I own the Bulova Accutron II spaceview, the Bulova Snorkel and the Bulova Telluride----that smooth sweep is just so addictive and the price makes it a great deal. Your watch (and I think the Telluride) is just about the perfect everyday watch.

Just a heads up the accutron was not the first electric watch but was the first electronic watch. I like how you compared it to an object of known size though (at least for us American).

Good review. Love this movement! However, the brand is pronounced Bull-a-va...not Bul-Oh-va. Many on YT pronounce this way and it’s simply wrong...drives me crazy. Ciao!

OK first off the name is pronounced bull-la-vuh NOT bull-low-vuh. If your doing research on the brand you should know this already because you have seen vintage commercials and heard it pronounced correctly. Next learn about the movement and how it actually works. The accutron II is a high frequency quartz movement plain and simple. The high frequency oscillator contributes to greater accuracy but has absolutely nothing to do with the smooth sweeping second hand. The accutron II movment has zero relation to the original accutron. The smooth second hand on the accutron II is simply a common type hybrid stepper motor that steps in smaller division than once per second. This could actually be done on any regular frequency quartz but Bulova has a patent on this so nobody else can use it. The smooth sweep and high frequency have nothing to do with each other in the accutron II. The are each unrelated features that could exist one without the other. That said the accutron II is an accurate watch and the high step sweep is nice.
