I was only a very young boy when this movie came out. I'm 46 now, and I still get a tear in my eye at the end of this movie. I don't think that will ever change 😊
To me, it is still one of the greatest masterpieces that has ever been made.
I'm 45 and I remember this in the theater. What a great movie

Bobby is that friend you need in your life.
Exactly…
Get em a boodddy baaaggg!!!!
Years and years of watching fight scenes after this movie (fighters on invincibility mode/polished choreographed moves) you realize how great they filmed the last 20 minutes of this movie. It was anxious, awkward, frustrating and realistic. I watch this now and still feel overwhelmed like a high school loner.
I'm pretty sure everyone else noticed it, but it's interesing how Johnny's movements are more sparatic in the final match, showing his frustration. Compared to Daniel's movements, whose are calm and calculated. Those minute details. Perfect.👌👋
“Get him a body bag!
Hehehehehehehehehehe!”! 😂
Ironic if you seen Cobra Kai.
One of the best moments of this movie is when jonny proves at the end that he really is a good guy mnot totally corrupted by his sensei
the look of horror when the sensei tells him to "sweep the leg". It was like a point of no return.
Yes...and the entire basis for the Cobra Kai series...

This and Rocky are two of the best sports movies of the 80s.
Poor Bobby he just wanted to do karate
In a deleted scene after what Bobby did to Daniel he took off his belt and dropped it in front of Kreese.
@@billybudd8085 that wouldve elivated the scene
I agree@@calebsoria1901
@@calebsoria1901"elevated" spelling police 🚓😅😅
I always thought Bobby was a decent person who was in the wrong karate school. 😅
He always seemed to want to stop trouble, but didn’t have much choice.
I always found it interesting 🤔 that Bobby is confident he could beat Daniel 😁
i mean he’s clearly pretty good, it would’ve been close for sure
Johnny loses 2 points to Daniel being cocky. Bobby couldn’t beat Johnny but he’s not cocky and could have beaten Daniel. JMO.
''Get him a body bag!''
Now that is an dumb thing to say! But 30 years later they are still talking about Daniel son's kick! REAL TALK U HEARD THAT? 42 yr old who loves jb
That's what my buddies always say when I ask for a rubber!!!
The Karate Tournament Scene - The Karate Kid (1984)
Rest in Power Rob Garrison. He was a funny guy. He really was going through chemo when he was on Kobra Kai and had them write his character's last shot as having himself put in a body bag. Dark humor, but funny, funny guy.
Yeahhhhhh(hhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
6:56 Johnny! You're a cream puff!! lol
You ever notice by the expression on Dutch's face at 2:00, it's like he actually supported Kreese's 'out of commission' decision.
Dutch was a sociopath
Compare that to 3:16 look of disgust.
2:07 has the same cadence and pitch as Luke Skywalker saying “I was going to Toshi station for power converters”
Well spotted. Yes, the evil laugh says it all. He has in essense, the "no mercy" student. No redemption here.
@@domls1317 Bobby was the groupie. Johnny was the narcissist. Tommy's the sociopath. Dutch was the psychopath.
9:55 Lawerence like a true champ.

And to think Cobra Kai just forgot about that scene
Amazing how Johnny took that final kick to the face went down and got back up to congratulate him. Its like that kick didnt bother him at all
😅h😂
Funny how they left that out of Cobra Kai
9:15 get him a body bag YEAH!!!
This is probably one of the biggest 'feel good' moments for any kid that was bullied back in the day it was all face-to-face. There was no internet or texting back then. If you were bullied, you often got beat, at least until you could manage to stand up to the bullies successfully...or befriend them, which oddly happened sometimes. The fights kids got into back in the 80s aren't much different than what you see on social media today, but it happened a lot more often. You just didn't see it on the news, cause no cell phones back then. All the kids knew about it though, as word of fights got around. Most weren't reported, nor were they recorded, so unless somebody snitched (and omg you never, EVER wanted to be that person, unless you legit had a death wish), the fights flew under the radar. Teachers would mostly turn the eye the other way, unless it was really egregious. But that did happen sometimes, and you might read about it in the newspaper. But it wouldn't make the TV news, since no video of it.
Well, all the bullies in my school ended up either living in the street, with menial jobs, or in prison, and high-school was the high point of their lives. But I think you are right, painting in broad brushstrokes.
@@raylopez99 Frighteningly, a couple got on the local police force. Don't live there any more, so no idea if they are still there.
Not only in the 80's, but as far back as the 50's for bullying ! In the 50's and 60's, bullying was part of life and you just got used to the reality. As mentioned by Raymond C, Social media was not prevalent back in those time frames so most occurrences of bullying were never heard of, nor was there any record of it.
Yup!!! I was there. Had to physically fight my way out situations, not hide behind a keyboard. Sink or swim.
@@SteveBerryhill Usually that worked except when the bully was bigger than you and sure to be in prison after graduation. So you had to make friends with the idiot. In my "top ranked' public school (nationally) a kid was beaten to death during school hours. That's why I favor private schools that are expensive since the riff-raff usually cannot afford them and/or the parents can hire therapists for bully Johnny/Jane.
I can watch this part million times❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember my first belt😉
Classic film
Fergaonell5323, This looks like some fake-arse TH-camy-ish stuff.
@@eddyvideostareven though thats true its a good movie that came out before all that
my favorite movie
I've watched this scene many, many times, and the crane kick still thrills me.
Karate kid 1 Daniel a wimp
2 Daniel a ninja
3 Daniel a wimp
Kk1: Daniel’s a wimp
Kk2: Daniel’s a ninja
Kk3: Daniel’s an angry boi
Wimp you say
The look on Johnny's face before that point with Bobby starts. Just this look of horror and confusion. Then when they take Daniel away, both he and Tommy looking at Kreese like 'This guy is an awful human.'. I can only imagine how jarring it would have to be to see the true nature of someone you look up to like that.
This was apart of my generation. It feels like a rite of passage.
I was so in love with Shue back then. When I first saw this I was working on my green belt in Tae Kwon Do. So many good memories.
Mastery of the art triumphs over lowdown bully tactics! ❤

What a Move! 😲
Pat should have won the Oscar on that scene alone(fixes Daniel's leg).
Like the way Daniel has a blackbelt, it takes years to win a blackbelt.
I bought mine at Walmart and it only took me 15 minutes

YEAH!!!!!!!!!! YEAH, DANIEL! YOU DA MAN. You beat the crap outta Lawrence.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
0:23 I like how in KK3 at the end of the tournament they say Daniel is the “first to ever win two years in a row” but in the first movie they already said Johnny was a two time champ.
2:03 but I was going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!
i always thought that too. you are the only person ive seen bring that up.
Iconic scene
Cobra Kai could've won if Kreese wasn't telling them to cheat
Would Cobra Kai be Cobra Kai if he didn't tell to cheat?
Punching someone in the face: no point
Kicking someone in the face: point?
5:01 Demon magic hands initiated lol
9:35 What if Jean-Claude Van Damme had played Johnny Lawrence, and Daniel LaRusso had gotten a taste legendary ''Helicopter kick''. 🤔
Bobby said I'm sorry man he made me
Bobby may have been a Cobra, but he did know when enough was enough.
@@Metalman200xdamnit thats what I'm saying
😈:Finish him!
🥷: *kick in the face
Shang Tsung: FATALITY!
Johnny was always the better fighter but psychologically he had a huge disadvantage once he saw the man he trusted for what her really was.
Such a good kick bro
never understood why that shot to the face right before the Crane kick didn't end the fight.
Let's say Daniel san taps out in the locker room, Johnny and crew really still going to tease him ? He defeated them ( including the killer Dutch ) up until Bobby who was no push over .. they would have respected him for learning to fight
nice
Danielle deserved this victory. And he was right toocnot giving up so easily regardless of winning. Good classic
Why didnt johnnys backfist to the face cant as a point and win but larussos kick to the face did?
because its a movie
I will never understand how the first kick was a disqualification but Lawrence’s elbow to the knee wasn’t
Or at least a point deduction which would mean Johnny's backfist to Daniel's face actually wasn't the winning point and Daniel's crane kick was. That would make sense.
Yah see how those movies teach people dignity and respect you can still loose with pride
You are the best
😊
Wasn't there full contact on both sides ?? at the END?
Good that Daniel showered Johnny in end he com on top
ገብሩ says who is a Anbessa or Lion 🦁 Fernado!
2:43 Daniel gets injured
You laugh you lose go😂😂😂
Daniel has a broken leg
… but it’s just a flesh wound.
Wax on. Wax off. The Waxer.

9:36 was the second Johnny's life started going downhill.
最初はいじめたり、敵同士だったが、最後はトロフィー自ら渡したのか感動だった。
Kreese seems to have forgotten he’s not in Nam anymore. “No mercy”? Dude, it’s a fucking tournament and you’re lucky your dojo is allowed to compete given your tactics.
He got the trophy, car and the girl from the valley.
KK is like the Black Knight of Monty Python fame...
#world ❤
Thirty four years later, we switch sides and want to see Johnny win.
I watched the first 3 seasons. It was going well but 3 seasons is all I can do with anything. Although LOST was different. Anyway, I just couldn't commit to it. Is it still going?
johnny was always the man
They changed this whole scene in Cobra Kai. Here, Johnny gets crane-kicked, falls, crawls around a little, and stands up almost immediately. On Cobra Kai he lies on the ground wallowing in butthurt. I could point out that he was also cool about his defeat here, handing Daniel the trophy and saying, "Good match..." while on CK it basically marks the beginning of him becoming a Coors-drinking loser... BUUUT I suppose we can attribute that to the first scene in Karate Kid 2, where Kreese (the one real father figure he had) betrays him and tries to choke him out.
make Crane technology!!!* 🤣
6:56 “Johnny you’re a cream puff”.
3:16 Just now noticed the look of utter disgust Lawrence and they one next to him had towards Kreese who was happy to win by injury.
"Johnny you’re a cream puff" 🤣🤣 seen this movie about 50 times never noticed that line before!
@@davesmith5482 just got done watching season one of cobra Kai. I was hoping it would have been in the final fight scene.
I am confident Miyagi knew Daniel would win.
First off, I know this is a movie. THAT SAID, it seems pretty clear that this isn’t the first time Kreese has pulled shady/illegal shit. You’ve gotta wonder why Kobra Kai is allowed to continue competing each year when it’s clear Kreese and his students have no problem intentionally crippling opponents and ignoring tournament rules. At some point the tournament organizers are complicit.
Ralph Macchio was 22 when this movie aired
No way Daniel would have defeated Johnny if this were a real fight,he'd have gotten his tail kicked just like on the beach.
It's a fantasy movie
no he blocked all johnny's moves in the tournament, he might take some hits but he would win
Too bad it’s a movie and a karate tournament that they’re fighting in not an actual fight
Damn the ref
The referee, looks like Master Ken of @EnterTheDojoShow channel or maybe Master Ken wants to look like the referee.
I was a banana on a tree when this came out
It’s so clear to anyone in combat sports…no can defend against that.
Didn't Elizabeth Shue tell the kid in the beginning that kicks to the face are illegal?
Shh. It looked bad ass -- that's what matters.
The more you watch this and Cobra Kai, Creese is the only enemy here.
Creese is pretty shitty but with hos backstory you can understand why he turned out the way he did. Terri Silver was a true psychopath, no real motive for the things he did other than him getting pleasure out of causing pain for others.
Board not hit back.
I meant Fernando! 🤘🏾
Shotokan hapkido karate😢
Aye

John: Bobby, I want him out of commission.
Bobby: But Sensei, I can beat this guy.
John: I don't want him beaten!
Bobby: But, I'll be disqualified!
John: OUT OF COMMISSION.
Bobby: **kicks Daniel on his thigh** **gets disqualified**
Also Bobby: Man, f*ck this sh*t...
Tournament Announcer: Bobby Brown of the Cobra Kai, has been disqualified! For excessive and deliberate contact!

Who is the bad guy in this movie??? 😄😅.
We all cheer Daniel on because he is suppepose to be the good guy but in reality, Daniel is the one who stole Johnny's girl,
ruined Johnny's only joint, kicked him in the face with an illegal crane kick and stole Johnny's Tournament Trophy.
that's him johnny lawrence character
LOL...'Night Lawrence" 2c Champlin couldn't see 'Daniel-san'... Was a white belt in the way he moved....
Journey was disqualified then returns... Walks into a 'Crane Nick' .. Kicked Johnny on the crib but isn't Kid..... Illegal... In POINT fishing..
Go watch his his fight vs Arthur Villanueva and that’ll show you why sparing means nothing.
This movie created the Diaz Brothers.
Looks like 8bit fighting game.
WAIT TIL RIFF RANDELL HEARS ABOUT THIS
At least Johnny's team had morals & thought geez I don't want to hurt this kid to cripple him
The way they expanded Bobby's character in Kobra Kai was really amazing.
It's a movie
lol you shouldve blocked thaaat! 2:43
Johnny would of got battered in the semi finals if it was real
