LOVE IT! Tara and Rose... so... young! (Rose has such a percussive attack on ye banjer... great counterpoint to the fiddle.)
So awesome! I knew Rose back in A2 in the late 70’s, when I started hanging around the old timey scene, playing with Eric Zorn at some dance parties. I left Ann Arbor the summer of ‘81 and haven’t laid eyes on her since!! What a treat, and a blast from the past!
I was there then. I wish I wouild have known. Too sucked in by Zeppelin and the Stones I guess. She is one of my favs for sure. Tara and Annie Stanenic off the charts good.
Tara Nevins' version of this tune is the best I've heard, with its "call and response" weave of riffs.
This is such a trip. I was 5 in 89 but I have loved Tara since I found out about her when I was 17. This is such a beautiful video!
One of those golden moments in time.
Well they've certainly got that tune down! They go together like salt and eggs!
Two of the greatest women on this Earth!
the Dave Wells Gold Mine
So great that there were video cameras at that point in time already
In 1989!? Lordy lord, you are well good 70 years behind. Cool they had banjos and violins all the way back then hahaha!
what a great moment in time captured! I love it!
This is such a treat! Babies!
This is perfect. ❤️
"We're gonna be in the movies!"
I was there !!!! It was great
Wowzers!!
I’ve tried 5 consecutive times to get to Galax. Last year I registered for Autoharp and got sick again the day before competition. I give up!
The Galax horse stalls ! Thought I'd never see them again ... some of the best jams Ive been to in my life were in those stalls...
The last time I played in the stalls was early 1980's and those girls are playing at them in 1989 ...must have been just before they torn them down ... great memories , thanks
outstanding, thanks!
This is why I love America!
Love this!
Thank you for sharing!
Look up Collette Fournier in West Warwick RI. She is the top fiddler there. She teaches In schools under RI Council On The Arts.

Hi Dave, I have emailed you a request regarding this footage.
Can anyone tell me about Rose’s banjo?
