I have an 07 r6 right now I’ve had it for 3 months. Best bike I’ve ever had. The torque down low is obviously low compared to the power band. Still 45-50 hp is what new 300s-400s make peak power. The occasional rip into the power band makes up for all the putsing around. She’s a face melter and don’t get me started on the sound

I had the Previous generation R6 and it wasn't very good on the streets, but god does that motor sound great. This generation had even more aggressive ergos so I can only imagine lol.
It's a 'ripper', an outstandingly fun and competent toy that's great for Sunday morning rides in the twisty's or as a track bike. As a road bike or commuter?? Sadists need only apply...(small, terrible real world ergos, no torque below 7K rpm, and rather thirsty on fuel. I'm speaking from experience...
CBR600RR is an excellent choice for a more balanced power band between all the RPM. Granted, it doesn't have any real power until 5k and it wakes up at 8k... but its still much more fun and usable in city driving!!
I got a 06 cbr600rr and I just bought an r6 and gettin off the cbr over to the r6 is so much better, most comfortable bike I've rode is a gsxr. Cbr is awful

I've had 3 600rrs. I love the bikes and got used the SS riding position. I am considering trying an R6 first but my main concern is that extra aggressive riding position. I've sat on both back to back and the 600rr felt more comfortable, but could that just be because I have had 3 of them? While I think the 600rr looks better personally, I'm finding it hard to justify buying another one which is why I am looking into an R6
Still same story about low torque 600ccm.People just don't understand 15000+ rpms . That's the whole story.Pure and unique joy of high rev maschine. It feels like you riding a bullet. 1000ccm is teleportation.
I've noticed the same my 2004 r6 doesnt wake up until about 7-8000 I'll stop at light get into first. , hit the throttle then .... , ..... , ...... okay we are going. What can I do to improve this
nothing, if you still want a 600cc then get a cbr or a zx6r has better midrange power espesially with the 636 motor in the zx6r. But if you never track as in going to the track the bike at least a few times a season get a 650 of some sort. power is everywhere in the rev range and still blasts through twisty roads (as much as you should on a public road) with arguably as much ease at the cost of only being able to top out around 130 mph instead of 160.
bro ..dont. its not worth it. if you start on a high cc (yes 600 is high)..you wont be be to actually learn the whole riding stuff..itll take you way long to get the basic ..and you can do some stuff with riding modes...but the r6 is a shit bike for that..youll end up riding like a menace...just get a 650 or a 400

Most motorcycles are off from the factory as it is. My R1 was 7% off and it’s bone stock. I have a speedo healer on it now because i got tired of trying to guess how fast I was really going. A speedo healer is a good thing to get even for a stock bike but Shawn is correct. Changing sprockets will throw it off even further.

Tyler Fabish I had an 09 zx6r and currently an 09 r6, the zx6r gonna be a lot more comfortable and smoother for daily street riding. r6 is more aggressive but the low end power is terrible in my opinion

My 2004 yamaha FZ6 acts the same from a start.
At a red light I have to rev pretty high to get it moving.
No torque lol. Had a '05 fz6 and that thing didn't start making any power til up top.
I'm over my r6... too weak down low and kills my wrists...

all 600's should be kept in the upper rpm range or go up one tooth on front sprocket but even in town I keep my 05 around 6 to 8 thousand

Not much. Thats how the engine is designed but you can try changing the final drive ratio.

If I'm going to get a bike, should I get a 2003 honda 600rr or a 2007 Yamaha R6? I like it both, so I don't know which one should I get.
