Hello... The subtraction part is not happening to mamy... I am not able to select the array elements individually. once selected the whole array gets selected during subtract. And finally shows no object subtracted... Please review.
Sir, saying that this your channel is useful would be an understatement. If i could really find another adjective that would go beyond the word useful right now, surely i would use it. So very grateful, keep up the good work. I'm just another university student and your knowledge of auto cad is benefiting me in so many ways.
***** I am really glad that this channel is helping you in your studies, You are always welcome to ask questions related to AutoCAD on this channel. Have a great day Umar :)
Thank you for these great tutorials. In each tutorial that you produce, you cleverly introduce some new CAD function and/or technique to help the beginner gain a new experience and get a wider understanding of ACAD. I've never had any formal class training on ACAD, just learn off TH-cam, and I can say your channel is the best I've come across. I look forward to practicing on your next video installment(s).
it was the first time was using auto-cad, and thanks to you...i made a almost good looking tire.I think its not that bad for a first time user. i ll try and learn more from you. Thanks a lot
+choudhary jitender Pichkiya i have trouble in selecting, trimming and erasing, slowly i ll try to learn. Please upload more of videos related to automobiles. Thanks once again.
@Somesh_Rupawate after making array of treads select the array type X on command line and press enter, this will explode the array into individual components and then perform subtract operation again
all the vedio from this channel is awesome.here the teacher's are teaching very bad , I understood by seeing these vedios that how to design . thanks a lot and don't stop uploading vedios .
lol I CANT BELIEVE THAT IT WAS SO EASY i draning a café racer by now and i've been having trouble with the tires but with your tip i will be surelly ready to do all the work thanks :)
Great tutorial, well done mate! In the future, could you please do a tutorial on how we can make that 3D model to look like real product? Like the tire picture you showed us on the video at the beginning Much appreciated!!
Great tutorial, many thanks for this! I followed along in Turbocad Mac which posed some challenges but ended up with an awesome tire! Really great I will subscribe to your channel!
Im not able to subtract the threading on the tire. As you have shown that when you select those arrays of threads, it gets selected one by one as you drag the cursor. But in my case, all the arrays of threads get selected at once and when i press enter it doesnt get deleted. Please help.
I gave up trying to remove vertex on spline. As soon as I clicked feature, my arc just go misshapen and it was hard to try and manipulate it to desired shape.
It actually helped me for my project, but 8:06 how you subtracted the treads from the tire, for mine when I try selecting the treads after selecting the tire, it selects the whole thing (along with tire) and won't subtract anything. Do you know how can I fix that?
Hi there great video, I m following this tutorial as we speak. I do however have an issue with removing the vortex at 1.38. When I remove it deforms the following vertex (It turns it into a straight angle) any Ideas as to what is happening here? Thanks
Hi sir I have problem when using Subtract command.. When I select the tyre 1 object found.. When select all.. Only 5 object found compare to yours 49 object found.. And then after enter it said no object found
sourceCAD, I also not able to subtract as you told in your tutorial ....but after reading on the comment section ...i succeeded by using the explode command . But sir my question is that ...why i have to use explode command on that ....why i cannot directly substract it ...please elaborate the basic concept of it sir
Prabhat Nigam actually your array is associative hence exploding it was required but if you dont want to explode it then uncheck associative option from array ribbon and you wont have to explode array.
+SourceCAD hi there I'm mally and I got a problem extruding and lofting complex shapes e.g star to circle when I try to region my shape it tells me 0 regions created but iv checked and there are no gaps and it is a closed poly line
+SourceCAD the tire was good and the jet engine please try a plane....f16 if possible im having problems with the scale wing to fuselage ratio and cockpit/glass !!
I have another problem, after creating the threads, when I try to make the tire, it's coming like very big and when I add the thread layer, it's actually forming under the tire :| I tried like 4 -5 times but still the same. What am I doing wrong here?
@sourcecad I am facing problem after doing polar array. I made the threads, extruded them and did a polar array, but during solid substraction process shit happens, I selected the tyre pressed enter and then while selecting the threads the whole array gets selected , and finally the process fails, ... please help
i have a problem with subracting the array its not working but if i subtract single only its working also i notice when i select the array that i created it automatically select all unlike here in video it should be selected manualy
The shell button isn't working for me. When I try it, I click the button, select the object, then it says Remove faces [Undo Add All], I press enter, I type 0.5 into the next text area then it said "Could not offset surface as requested." Help?
Explode the array before subtracting, you must have made an associative array. To explode the array type X on command line then press enter and select array and press enter again.
I have a question about Keyshot rendering, when I import a dwg to it all the curves and circles are converted to polygons and are not smooth, do you know how to fix that ? Thanks
properties of any object can be sen and modified by properties palette of AutoCAD, you can bring property palette by selecting object then right clicking on it and selecting property from contextual menu. If this was not your question let me know
Thanks for the answer, but thats not what I meant. I have two seperate pieces of different size. They are on two different positions. And I want the profile of the tire to be on top. How do I scale them, to be the size I want them to, and how do I put them together? Basically I want it to be like in the video, but, like I said, if I activate the layer for the profile its not automatically on top, its somewhere else. I know how to combine them to a single entity, thats not the problem.
It would be great if could share a screenshot of the drawing because its hard to visualize the error you are getting, moreover if there is difference in scales of different parts of tire then you can use SCALE command with reference option to make it of appropriate size.
You can follow following steps to correct it 1. Select move command then click at the center of treads then click at the center of treadless tire to align centers of both the objects. make sure OSNAP is turned on and center is selected for making selection. 2. select SCALE command and then click at the treads and press enter, now assign scale of 1.2 or 1.4 etc so that the size of treads become suitable (yes you have to use trial and error in this case) let me know how this went and if you are still not able to manage it then send me the DWG file to admin@thesourcecad.com and I will get back to you with corrected drawing.
For the subtraction tool, select the part you want to keep, in this case the tire center. After hitting enter, select the object(s) you want to remove, in this case all of those spokes. Finishing the tool subtracts the second wave of objects from the first object, so there will be holes and gaps where they overlapped.
have you made associative array? if yes then then you need to explode array before making subtraction. select all objects in circular array then type X on command line and press enter this will make array non-associative, Now try subtraction again.
This is a strange issue, I suggest you you to perform AUDIT and PURGE command and if problem still persists then make array again or create this drawing in a fresh template.
is your array non-associative? make sure you use non-assocaitive array and if it associative then select array and explode it then try using Subtract tool.

SourceCAD Awesome!.... And, just a hint, It´s "Jay" (J), No "G"
Im not able to subtract the threading on the tire. As you have shown that when you select those arrays of threads, it gets selected one by one as you drag the cursor. But in my case, all the arrays of threads get selected at once and when i press enter it doesnt get deleted. Please help.
You have to explode the array before doing the subtraction
It worked thanks!
Very interesting method, thanks a lot.
Thank you for showing this!
Pretty Easy and a Good Tutorial .......Thumbs UP...!!

Did you manage to find a solution? I have the same problem
I got it. After the polar type. Deselect the Associative tab of the properties.
@@syakirazmi9712 oh okay. Thank you
Why you didn't use Offset command here 4:00 for second arc
Amazing video!!
Bro I'm not able to select a single object after creating several objects using polar array. What to do to select each object individually?
Great Job Sir 👌
Absolutely nice

Prabhat Nigam actually your array is associative hence exploding it was required but if you dont want to explode it then uncheck associative option from array ribbon and you wont have to explode array.
SourceCAD thanks for the ans. sir but where i have to uncheck the assosiative option of array
Prabhat Nigam when you select array you will find associative option on ribbon if you are using drafting and annotation workspace.

Mirror it about the wertical axis? Which one is that? I only see X, Y & Z do you have W, X, Y & Z?
Can you please specify at what time in video you are facing this issue?
Nice and simple!!!

Subscribed! I have a question: Where did you learn AutoCAD? Thanks for sharing!
Kevin M I started at a CAD training institute sponsored by Government of India and later on by myself and at workplace
Oh thats great! I was curious. I appreciate it man.
I'm enjoying autocad video but not make full object yet...
Can u show drawing of alloy wheel 3d
I have another problem, after creating the threads, when I try to make the tire, it's coming like very big and when I add the thread layer, it's actually forming under the tire :| I tried like 4 -5 times but still the same. What am I doing wrong here?
this one is difficult to guess for me, you should try to use UCS in the same way I am using in the video.
HI please halp me. I create 28 object bat this is One big object and a cant create subtract from tire
Make sue your array is not associative if you have an associative array then explode it first then use subtract command.
tnx
This Very Easy for Teaching Style
Thanks Mahinur

I made the threads, extruded them and did a polar array, but during solid substraction process shit happens, I selected the tyre pressed enter and then while selecting the threads the whole array gets selected , and finally the process fails, ... please help
You need to explode array before applying subtract command.
i have a problem with subracting the array its not working but if i subtract single only its working

I'm unable to subtract the fins after the array function, using 2017 trial version. Can you please help me out?
Explode the array before subtracting, you must have made an associative array. To explode the array type X on command line then press enter and select array and press enter again.
Awesome! Got it, thank you :)
After apply arrays command I can't subtract the grips from tyre ...what should I do ??? Plz help me
Explode the array before using the subtract command

Good job, thanks
+Wisam Rabeea Welcome Wisam
Good tutorial sir
I have a question about Keyshot rendering, when I import a dwg to it all the curves and circles are converted to polygons and are not smooth, do you know how to fix that ? Thanks
Export your drawing to STP or IGS format from AutoCAD and then import it in keyshot, in that way it will not remain faceted.
Will do, thanks
Unfortunately extensions aren't available, I use Autocad for Mac, maybe it's not available for the Mac version :s
Use EXPORT command in mac, it should be there.
That's what I did but the formats you mentioned are not available :/
really nice..!
Fantastic
Sir, What is use of entities in CAD.. actually ,i really dont know what it is
What kind of AutoCAD entities you are looking for shubham?
properties of entities i would like to know!
properties of any object can be sen and modified by properties palette of AutoCAD, you can bring property palette by selecting object then right clicking on it and selecting property from contextual menu.
If this was not your question let me know
benim için çok yararlı oldu teşekkürler
after compleation of revolve i didnt project arc on to the fig could u help me to these
Can you specify time in video where you faced this issue?
i am unable to subtract the threading on the tire, i have also tried to explode. Please help me to sort this problem......
KRISHNA VENI Thakur for subtracting you need to first select tire then treads are you following this order?
SourceCAD i got it.........thank you very much
video is very easy to understand and the beginners can easily follow the tutorial
KRISHNA VENI T I am glad it helped Krishna :)
Well okay, now I have two different pieces of different size.. How do I connect them to a single tire?
You can use UNION command to combine them into a single entity, see this video it might help th-cam.com/video/-BomhRwhFF8/w-d-xo.html
+SourceCAD Thank you so much for your efford, I really appreciate it! :)
Of course, here is the screenshot: bit.ly/1IM0Yd5
You can follow following steps to correct it
1. Select move command then click at the center of treads then click at the center of treadless tire to align centers of both the objects. make sure OSNAP is turned on and center is selected for making selection.
2. select SCALE command and then click at the treads and press enter, now assign scale of 1.2 or 1.4 etc so that the size of treads become suitable (yes you have to use trial and error in this case)
let me know how this went and if you are still not able to manage it then send me the DWG file to admin@thesourcecad.com and I will get back to you with corrected drawing.
Please make your lectures a bit slow it's hard for us to understand everything clearly. Thanks
Nice video.
Andrew Schechter thanks Andrew
8:11 i didn't get the substraction part
For the subtraction tool, select the part you want to keep, in this case the tire center. After hitting enter, select the object(s) you want to remove, in this case all of those spokes. Finishing the tool subtracts the second wave of objects from the first object, so there will be holes and gaps where they overlapped.
Where is the measurement of the object.
good video
When I try to subtract from the tyre it says null solid objects the deletes the tyre?
have you made associative array? if yes then then you need to explode array before making subtraction. select all objects in circular array then type X on command line and press enter this will make array non-associative, Now try subtraction again.
+SourceCAD I have tried that. I still cant get it to work?
can you share a snapshot of error which you are getting it will help me in figuring out the issue here.
+SourceCAD Null solid created - deleted and it deletes the treads and the inner tyre
This is a strange issue, I suggest you you to perform AUDIT and PURGE command and if problem still persists then make array again or create this drawing in a fresh template.
>>> Wow... Nice... I learn Something.. Thankzz U?
+Jimvil R Raboy Welcome jimvil
I have problems subtracting (8:15). I get no results.
is your array non-associative? make sure you use non-assocaitive array and if it associative then select array and explode it then try using Subtract tool.
SourceCAD Yes I got it. Thanks.
EPIC!
thanks
Done, thanks :)
thanks a lot
amazing
