You're very welcome lads! Glad u both enjoyed Planet Zero. It has definitely been one of my favourite albums of the last few years (outside of the 1D boys) I just love the idea of the conceptual story of being forced to conform, but rebelling against the machine sort of thing.
I agree with Ryan that Daylight was instantly my favourite song from the first time I heard this work and it was actually one of, if not, the first song I sent you guys, but it was the released single music video version and it is slightly different to the album track which is probably why u didn't immediately remember it. Also, like Nathan, the one song I've always struggled with on the album is Army Of The Underappreciated because it is such a different sound to any of the other songs with its more punk feel, and I completely agree with what u said about it lyrically not fitting with the sound. It is probably my least fave also.
I always appreciate you're honesty when u react to songs I or others send in and will definitely be sending more Shinedown your way soon.... maybe even the Attention Attention album when I've saved up again.

    Great reactions!
Daylight is also one of my favorites. It's about that person/pet/thing that get you through the day, even in your darkest moments can show you the daylight!
Planet zero comes from Eric Bass end Brent talking about america during the pandemic, all the riots and the division of all the people. They didn't recognise the world even, so Eric said "it feels like planet zero". That's why they felt the need to whrite about everything that goes on.
Thanks guys! I really enjoyd the ride with you! 🤘

Thank you guys for reviewing what to me is Shinedowns best album! I love a concept album and this one speaks to non conformity and the constant battle with mental health and not being judged for being yourself, brilliant brilliant album and an exceptional review, well done guys

Thanks for a great review some others just complained about the politics which there wasn't much politics but they hated it and just didn't seem like they tried to get what they were saying. There are plenty of live videos of most songs from Planet Zero on TH-cam. Yes there are some backing tracks but not too much and Brent definitely screams those vocals live just like studio. Also would love for a complete album review on Attention Attention the story album #6.

this was a very interesting album.
I have been listening to them a long time, and clarity of course I got a good thing for America burning as a song:
they are very pro human. at a concert you can see they love every single person there. woke not awake is their message of taking it too far. gasoline and grenades more towards the warmongering side of things. they aren't on either side-they know any side can be totally skewed and they won't take either if it's morally wrong, and the morals that they defend are all for humans being humans. having rights to own things, to defend oneself, to mess up, and to learn. anything that is a part of the human condition, they stand by, and I'll stand with them.
    glad you enjoyed!

GREAT insight & review. Never did I think Shinedown could come up with an album close to as good as Sound Of Madness. Planet Zero is very very close. For me it might even be better if it weren't for the futuristic electronic spoken words that are used throughout this concept album. I get it cause its a concept, but often I feel it ruins the flow of a PERFECT album. America Burning, Dysfunctional You, Hope & Dead Dont Die are MASSIVELY GREAT GREAT songs. Daylight & Symptom Of Being Human are beautiful uplifting songs. Planet Zero, No Sleep Tonight & Saints Of Violence Of Saints and Innuendo flat out rock. All the albums since Sound Of Madness were excellent excellent albums, but this album is right up along side of Sound Of Madness. One last personal observation. What I believe America Burning is about is: First & foremost it is about the destruction of the city of Minneapolis in the riots that followed the circumstances that led to George Floyd's death. Woke but not awake, and the line about victimhood are pure poetry. When they talk about the flag(S) beneath your feet I believe that's about the thousands of flags so many people now worship and pay homage to in this country.

    THANKS SAM!!! 👍🏻
Shinedown is my favorite band, so I was excited to watch this entire video.
Dysfunctional You absolutely should've been a single, but in my opinion, the first 2 words can be a trigger for some people. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
I also agree with you both about Hope - it's really good & I love it!
Guitarist Zach, had a lot to do with the lyrics of Dead Don't Die - he said he wrote part of it about Brent.
Fun fact (?): Shinedown opened for Nickelback in 2010. I just had to make this statement because - well, because Nickelback. 😉
P.S. The bass player is Eric Băss, like the fish 🐠, not Bāss instrument. 😉
    THANKS SAM!!! 👍🏻
