I know you guys sometimes make jokes and make light of your channel but there are so many powerful and amazing things that your channel can/will generate from others.
Oh man… seeing them react to this made me nervous. This is the first non-Beyoncé reaction I think I’ve watched on this channel. But it’s important to understand that this song was an anthem during the Black Lives Matter movement which was specifically about police violence. Remember he said “we hate popo… WHEN THEY KILL US… “ Kendrick is very serious about Black culture and the culture of hip hop… very similar to Beyoncé. Also don’t forget that Kendrick has a Pulitzer. He is a genius and a peer of Beyoncé in terms of artistry in my opinion and they have great respect for each other. He’s been on more than one song with her. But yeah… Kendrick and Bey are my personal faves because of the cultural cache that they have. There is a lot of mythology around shoes on the power line. It’s been happening in urban neighborhoods for decades and could mean a variety of things.
I was going to write something very similar to this but you stated it more eloquently than I was planning to. Kendrick and Beyonce (and SZA) are also two of my favourite artists for the same reasons you mentioned!
oh my god he's the greatest - can't wait for more Kendrick videos including his live performance with Beyonce. I highly recommend the song i; DNA; Feel; King Kunta and like every single other song lol.
In it’s simplest form, Kendrick is a black man elevated…risen above his expected station and yet still subjected to the violence of racism and judged/punished despite his innocence or being unarmed. As our history has proven, having money in the bank like Oprah, being a famous athlete like Lebron, or demanding the authority and status of a judge or attorney cannot prevent someone from judging/profiling them negatively strictly based on the color of their skin..
Kendrick’s albums are focused interwoven projects. I’d suggest you study him by project.. A trip through an artist’s wonderland is always eye-opening. Too Pimp A Butterfly Good Kid Mad City Damn The Black Panther Soundtrack Mr Morale & the Big Steppers
The place to start for Kendrick probably Good Kid Madd City. It was his 1st true studio album and is one of the best rap album ever. I would just go in order if you don't do album reactions
PLEASE WATCH KENDRICK LAMAR-I SNL....ITS AMAZING...BTW YOUD BE SUPRISED KENDRICK FANS ARE PRETTY DIVERSE..HES A GENIUS WON A PULLITZER AND IS PROBABLY CONSIDERED THE GREATEST RAPPER

Yes, I agree. Start with the diss songs. Drake wrote songs and Kendrick wrote rebuttals. One is the clear winner.
