      That’s exactly how I felt when a judge granted me my name change. I’d had to be very honest on the paperwork about why I wanted to change my last name. (My step-father had adopted me, and I wanted to be able to start fresh, including the degree I was about to receive. I worked so hard to get my life back together, and I didn’t want any part of him, not even his name, to get any kind of credit for the life I had rebuilt. I believe the paperwork said something to the effect of, “I don’t want my rapist’s name on my BA.”) The judge saw my case first, and when he called me by my new name, I felt both vindicated and free.

It Took me 2 SECONDS looking at my child to KNOW the cycle of ABUSE that has troubled my family for GENERATIONS, STOPPED with me. it's been 19 years since I had my child WHO NEVER WAS ABUSED, HUNGRY, HOMELESS, raised by both birth parents. IT STOPPED WITH ME. I found a great man, only after I healed myself 1st. We have been together for 20 years and I'm doing great and so is my kid. So I understand the feelings she is going through, the wanting a family, trying to forgive while still hating because she choose him and not you, yet wanting the families you see others having on tv. thinking your crazy, or maybe you did something, to-self hate, to hate for all, THEN rise above THEM and HEAL is an amazing thing to do. you will make it and you are already stronger just for standing here today, JUST KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND YOUR FEELINGS ARE 100% OKAY TO HAVE.

      As a child of a parent who broke that cycle, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate it. My mom was molested almost her whole life by her father, who was molested by his father, and the cycle was just going to continue if my mom didn’t break it.
      So she found a wonderful man (my daddy, god rest his beautiful soul) who NEVER made me feel uncomfortable… let alone harm me…a man who would destroy ANYONE that ever did.
      So I thank you, both of you who commented this, for saving your children. Thank you.

    When i was a kid, my mom used to fool around with a lot of men, but she never, NEVER brought anyone home.
    When she married for the first time, she sat me and my sister down and she taught us about sexual harassment and that we should always tell her if her new husband ever touched us the wrong way. He was very loving, pretty much the perfect father figure for us, but she was careful nonetheless.
    Nothing bad ever happened to me or my sister, my mother was mostly very good to us, which I'm grateful for.

And I always jumped and got something between us like a table instinctively. And said no. Women like that are vile. My mom was the one touched me, my dad didn’t know that but when I told him he said I don’t believe you. We are now no longer in contact. I remember my best friend in high school being abused by both her parents. It was mostly her dad, her mom occasionally… but when her dad passed (rest in hell Stephen) her mom became an absolute MONSTER. We grew apart in the past few years but her now fiancé is one of my close friends’ cousins. She did get away from her mother and doesn’t talk to them at all anymore. Her mother snakes her way into anyone’s inbox who MIGHT have contact with H to see where they’re living, H has a one year old son now-the witch’s first grandchild and I’ll say, we don’t speak anymore but I’m damn proud of her for getting out. She’s clean and sober also from what I hear. I miss her every day but I’m proud of her. And I hope you’re doing well also-I’m proud of you for surviving it.

    • @sofiaisabella3317
      @sofiaisabella3317 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for answer. Yes it takes a lot of strength. I am still recovering. Yes they try to get into your life again, I also had inquiries and threats. It’s also I think difficult to protect yourself, because when it happens from such a young age, you at some point distance yourself which is already a hard situation since they don’t let go easily, but there is nobody guiding you in the process. When you get assaulted as an adult, and step to the police, they offer you services. Also you get the choice to make it a court case. How would a child know all this? It’s their primary caregiver. I remember thinking what would happen to me if I told, who would give me food, where would I live. And then when I told as an adult to my father, and my sisters also experienced weird things and knew my mother (and father) were aggressive and especially at that time, because I wanted out. They say it must be you, and don’t believe it. It’s now 9 years later. Also I feel that you are vulnerable for these types of predators due to this experience. At least now that I am aware of it and healing, this happened many many times. I am a target for bullies. Or was should I say. And also, see how they keep denying even when in court and the facts are presented right there. How are children supposed to handle all this? If the adults can’t even? This proves that we are not to blame, and not abusing others means they are by nature evil and we are by nature good. There is justice needing to be done. Much strength to anyone needing it, be super proud of yourself.

    She blew it BIG TIME as a mother. Loved the way Judge Mathis said "You and your molester can get out of my court room". Kind of a take from Steve Wilco's "Get the hell off my stage". So appropriate and so deserved. I can't wrap my head around these women who'll put their twisted abusive boyfriend's or husband's above the health and well being of their kids. As a parent, those young kids are so vulnerable. They can't fend for themselves in those abusive situations. It's the parents job to protect them because they haven't had the chance to learn the life skills to protect themselves. What a sorry excuse for a mother. She's not a mother, she's just a breeder. I respect the daughter's courage. I hope she feels a sense of vindication because it sounds to me like it was a long time coming. Kudos to judge Mathis as well, for his knowledge and sense of honor and keen intuition for the truth. I enjoy Judge Mathis. He has a killer sense of humor as well.
