      He missed the whole section from sec 0:12 to 0:18, because he started to play about 1/8 of a note too soon, plus the other errors everyone else pointed out below. Still, after Van Halen died there was no tribute concert, so while we are still grieving we've all fallen in love with the idea that part of his DNA is still alive, looks like him, and carries the heavy weight (literally and figuratively) of his music legacy down, and THIS is the closest we'll ever going to get to closure. To me, the real gift is not his playing, but his Voice!

      Tone isn't created by your hands... I've played guitar for 21 years, tone is created by the combination of the settings on your amplifier and the tone knob on the front of the guitar - it's usually the one farthest from the bridge not the ones under it those are volume knobs for each pickup :3 ---- oh and whatever stomp boxes and pedals you have hooked up that are turned on as well of course. Wah wah, fuzz, phaser, chorus, echo, etc etc.
      The infamous brown sound that EVH' was famous for on some tracks was just the tone knob on his guitar turned almost all the way down. But he didn't record his entire music career with that same tone. It saps the clarity of the tone of the guitar as your reduce the knob - the vast majority of guitar players rarely ever reduce it from all the way on. It's very difficult to make it sound good with most amplifier setups, any guitar player, even EVH would tell you the same thing. Especially a digital or solid state one, mine is digital as I prefer having hundreds of built in preset tones that mimic specific songs and bands of all types of all types of genres where guitars are present in the music.
      xD sry man. it's nothin personal and im not trying to criticize or demean, but what you've said there is literally just factually incorrect. :3

    • @JeremiahHartmanPhotography
      @JeremiahHartmanPhotography 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@DekkarJr That's weird, then how is it the same person can sound like "them" on any guitar and amp combo? And why is it that anyone can buy/build EVH or another persons guitar and amp combo and still never sound quite like them? While yes there are sounds that a humbucker makes compared to a single coil...and a tube amp vs solid state....it's never quite there without "that" person playing it... I mean hell, Johnny Marr can sound exactly the same on songs he recorded with his ES355 now playing on his Jaguar...nothing personal, while you make some great points...the person playing has A LOT to do with it.

I wasn't a very big Van Halen fan growing up, but I learned to really respect Eddie Van Halen obviously for his amazing guitar playing but also for his songwriting ability. And to see Wolfgang now honoring his father. Whether he's playing a Van Halen song or a Mammoth song, it doesn't even matter. For me, it's one of my favorite things to see now in this day and age of rock music.

    Such a mix of emotions watching this. It's exhilarating watching Wolfie and co absolutely slay this song. People are having the time of their lives, but at the center of it is a guy who misses his dad and wants to honor his memory. Same with Taylor's kids.

    Still not over Eddie’s passing. I was in junior high school when the first Van Halen LP came out. We put it on the turntable, and when we listened to Eruption it was like “WTF did we just hear”.! We thought Eddie was an alien, I’m still not convinced he wasn’t! It’s such a blessing that Wolfgang took the torch passed on by his dad.

    To all the idiots commenting on his weight. 41.9% percent of Americans are overweight in 2022. Less than 1% can play a guitar like that! Much respect for this young man!

    • @WinslowLeach1974
      @WinslowLeach1974 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sadly, that percentage is just the "obese" people in America (which is astronomical as it is). Add the rest who are merely overweight, but not quite obese, and you get almost three out of four American people with a weight problem. And agree about Wolfgang's playing, sounded amazing!

      From your numbers......What a pathetic attempt. 41.9% are overweight.... so what, that means its okay for wolf to eat poorly and not exercise?? Thats a pathetic excuse.
      Calling people idiots and you think less than 1% can play a guitar like Wolf? Are you out of your freakin mind? 1% of all americans is roughly 3.5 million.... and you say less than 1%?? You are another one who doesnt know wtf theyre talking about. Wolf is a decent guitar player but he sure as shit isnt great.
